    Saved us money

    By Michael on 01/02/2008

We had this pest control company come in and spend all of 3 minutes treating roaches in the kitchen. At the end of his 3 minutes presented me with a handwritten bill for $65, as he smiled and said see you in 4 weeks. I don't think so! Fortunately for me he was in such a rush to get to his next customer, he left a half finished can of Invader HPX behind in the cupboard. That's how I got to know what product he used. I looked it up on Google and the first listing was DoMyOwnPestControl.com, so we will be taking care of that little task with your products from now on and we saved money too. Feel free to use the testimonial.

    Very effective but horrible fumes

    By Patty on 05/17/2010

Invader is an excellent insect repellent. As powerful as any pesticide professional can spray in your home. However, the fumes are almost lethal. Had to leave windows open in room for days, yes, days, to get the fumes out. Could not inhabit the room until it was free of the fumes. Otherwise, I recommend Invader as an excellent product. And doing business with DoMyOwnPestControl is fantastic! Wonderful people there!

    Most powerful insecticide legally available

    By Steve on 10/23/2010

If you're over the age of 45 or so, you'll recognize the odor of Invader Aerosol as "Black Flag with Baygon". It kills instantly and has great residual action. It works as good as chlorpyrifos (Dursban), and better than diazinon or malathion, all of which are no longer available in the US. Just be sure to ONLY use it in cracks and crevices like they say (wink, wink.)

    It helps

    By Jim on 03/21/2011

    Verified Purchase

Propoxur is one of the pesticides used to treat bed bugs and I have used this for about 2.5 months at about 3 week intervals. The results were mixed. There was a reduction in bites but they still continue nonetheless. Bedbugs are a difficult pest to eliminate and the Propoxur in Invader should be knocking them more quickly. I've read an article on pesticides which said the concentration should be 2% and Invader has only 1%. Also, the can stated flushing/contact and not residual so these may be the reasons the problem persists even after thorough spraying and dusting.

Sort Questions
Q
Is Invader Aerosol safe for children and pets to be around?
A
When used according to the product label, Invader Aerosol is only being applied to the cracks and crevices around the room, not out in the open on the floor. By applying the product as specified on the product label you limit the contact your children and pets can have with it. Once the Invader Aerosol is dry it is safe for the kids and pets to return to the treated rooms.

Q
How effective is Propoxur against bedbugs?
A
There is no known resistance to the active ingredient propoxur which makes it very effective for bedbugs. Unfortunately, Propoxur has been discontinued due to EPA regulations and only the product left on the shelves now is allowed to be sold. After the existing stock is gone, propoxur will no longer be manufactured.

Q
Is Invader effective in killing and preventing stink bugs?

I live in Virginia, in a rural area and am fighting a war against stink bugs. Will this product be effective in killing the ones that are already in my home and preventing more from coming in?

A
Invader is a great product for stink bugs. Unfortunately if you are dealing with them in your house right now you will only see limited results. Stink bugs move into structures to overwinter. They usually squeeze into wall voids, false ceilings, attics and other areas that are inaccessible to people and insecticides. As the heat kicks on in the house, the stink bugs warm up and start becoming active and emerge from hiding, driving homeowners nuts. Because most folks usually have no idea where the bugs are harboring you can only treat directly in cracks and crevices around baseboards, door frames and window frames and hope the insects will emerge where you have sprayed. After they contact the treated areas it can take several hours for them to die. It is still worth spraying now to get rid of some of the bugs, but you will keep seeing them until late spring when they will emerge en mass and leave your home. They do not eat, mate or lay eggs while indoors so need to worry about any damage or future baby stink bugs. This year you can be proactive by stopping these pests before they move in for the winter. You should spray a product such as Demon WP outdoors around your door frames, window frames, vents, eaves, around the bottom of your foundation, and any other crack or crevice where an insect could gain entry once a month August-November.
