Product Overview

Liqua-Tox II is a liquid concentrate rodenticide created by Bell Laboratories, noted for its outstanding rodent acceptance and control of Norway Rats, Roof Rats, and House Mice. Liqua-Tox II offers exceptional quality control when conditions are dry and there is little liquid available. It is also ideal to use in places such as grain elevators or food storage warehouses where competition from other food sources is high. Liqua-Tox II works because rats need water daily, and mice will drink liquids when they are accessible. Using Liqua-Tox II is as simple as mixing one 1.68 fl oz envelope with 1 quart of water, and distributing the liquid bait in to bait stations or dispensers in areas where rats and mice will most likely find and consume the bait. Selection of treatment areas may include along walls, by gnawed openings, in corners or concealed places, in or beside burrows, between floors and walls, or where rodents have been seen. DIRECTIONS OF USE

For Indoor Use ONLY. This is for control of Norway rats, roof rats and house mice only inside of industrial, commercial, agricultural, and public buildings, and similar man-made structures. Do not place near or inside ventilation duct openings. Do not contaminate water, food, feedstuffs, food or feed handling equipment, or milk or meat handling equipment or surfaces that come into direct contact with food. When used in USDA-inspected facilities, this must be applied in tamper-resistant bait stations. Do not use in sewers.

SELECTION OF TREATMENT AREAS:

Determine areas where rats or mice will most likely find and consume the bait. Generally, these areas are along walls, by gnawed openings, in or beside burrows, in corners and concealed places, between floors and walls, or in locations where rodents or their signs have been seen. Remove as much alternative food as possible.

MIXING DIRECTIONS:

Wearing waterproof gloves, thoroughly mix contents of one 1.68 fl. oz. pouch in 1 quart (32 fluid ounces) of water.

APPLICATION DIRECTIONS:

  • RATS: Provide a minimum of 1 pint (16 fluid ounces) of LIQUA-TOX II diluted product in each dispenser (suitably-equipped bait station, chick fount, or other suitable device). If infested area is large, or if rat population appears to be high, use dispensers at several locations. Space dispensers and refill them as needed to ensure that bait is exposed in all infested areas where it can be used without putting nontarget organisms at risk.
  • MICE: Provide 1/2-pint (8 fluid ounces) placements of LIQUA-TOX II diluted product in suitably-equipped bait stations, chick founts, or other appropriate vessels. Place dispensers at intervals of 8 - 12 feet in all infested areas where bait can be used without putting nontarget organisms at risk.
  • FOLLOW-UP: Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately. Wearing waterproof gloves, collect and dispose of all visible dead animals and leftover bait, as well as any bait that has become accessible to non-target animals. To discourage reinfestation, limit sources of rodent food, water and harborage as much as possible. If reinfestation does occur, repeat treatment. For a continuous infestation, set up permanent bait stations and replenish bait as needed.

Tips for using Liqua-Tox II safely and effectively:

  • Wear waterproof gloves while mixing to avoid direct contact of the rodenticide with skin.
  • Protect bait stations from rain and snow.
  • Do not expose children, pets, or non-target animals to rodenticides. Apply out of reach of children, pets, and non-target animals, or use tamper-resistant bait stations.
  • When using Liqua-Tox II or any other rodenticide, remove as much alternative food as possible.
  • Provide a minimum of 1 pint in each bait dispenser for rats, and ½ pint in each dispenser for mice.
  • Replace contaminated or spoiled bait immediately.

    Liqua-Tox II

    By Steve on 07/28/2011

    Verified Purchase

Two days after starting to use Liqua-Tox II I started to find dead rats, I've been finding them everyday since, consumption has really slowed down, hopefully the population is gone, I plan to keep Liqua-Tox II in the baitbox all the time now to keep them from moving back in. This works great, very palatable.

    Liqua-ToxII

Great product. Fast acting. Had a horrible problem with rats in my barn. Two days after setting out the Liqua-ToxII, there was a dramatic decrease in the rat population. Don't know where most of them went, but there hasn't been any odor. I bought this product after talking with the sales lady and finding out this was safe to use around my dogs and cat. She said that my dog would have to eat many many many dead or dosed rats to be affected. Since the dogs don't eat the rats, just play with them until they stop moving, I was sold! I am extremely satisfied. Worth every penny to buy it and the bait stations.

    Liqua-tox II & Dispenser

    By Robert on 05/20/2011

I have used this product before and being in the grain business we have a hard time with mouse poison doing a good job when the mouse has plenty to eat. I can put this item out and two days later you start noticing less mice running around the area.

I use this with peanut butter as the bait. (Mix it in a zip lock quart bag). Works GREAT for the target animal, no worry about the cat drinking the water.

Q
How long does it take for a house mouse to die from ingesting Liqua-Tox?

How long do I need to leave product out, assuming I don't actually see the mice consume it or happen to find little bodies laying around? How many doses does the mouse have to consume before it dies? If I happen to have a water source nearby, where would I put your product? What are the odds the little critters will consume the poison rather than the water?

A
Liqua-Tox II is a product that takes advantage of the fact the rodents need moisture to survive.  It works best in a situation where there may not be a moisture source nearby for mice or rats, like an attic or a crawl space.  If there is a water source nearby then Liqua-Tox may not be as effective; you may want to try a bait.  Once consumed, the product will usually kill within a few hours.  A rodent only needs to consume a small amount, this is a single dose poison.  You should remove all signs of droppings so you can monitor if there is still activity.  When you do not see any new droppings or signs of activity then you know the Liqua-Tox II has done its job.

Q
I'm concerned about secondary poisoning , how safe is Liqua-T product if a cat or dog were to eat a rat?
A
The risk of secondary poisoning with Liqua-Tox is very minimal. A mouse only consumes a very small amount of bait at a time and passes it very quickly only keeping a smaller amount in their liver until they succumb to the effects of the bait. A cat would have to actually eat 20-30 mice that have consumed the bait for it to have an effect. In most cases well fed domesticated animals will not actually eat a mouse or a rat that they come across. Instead they will play with it, chew it and then leave it behind.

Q
Is Liqua-Tox II a good poison to eliminate rats & mice quickly?

They are eating our newly renovated house. We are worried about electrical, HVAC & plumbing that is all new. We can hear rodents gnawing on everything at night. We are in a drought right now, and we are currently using a non-secondary poison but this does not seem to slow them down.

A
Yes, Liqua-Tox II is a wonderful product that is labeled for both mice and rats. One place packet is mixed with 1 qt. of water. The liquid is placed into dispenser and will hold 8 oz. of the liquid poison.

We also have a product like Final Blox, which is a single feed kill. This is an actual bait and is not mixed with water. You can place these in bait stations.

If you have any addtional questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

Q
Does Liqua-Tox cause rats to go outside to get water and die outside the house?

I have rats in my attic which will be hidden from sight in the insulation after dying. How will I find and remove their bodies?

A

There is no guarantee as to where rodents wil die when using any kind of rodenticide. Neither Liqua-Tox nor any other bait will cause rodents to move to a different location in search of water. Liqua-Tox is attractive because of its liquid formulation, but it will not remove rats from a location. Rat-X bait is a natural bait that reduces some of the smell of decomposing rodents and has been very popular. Be sure to use enough bait and placements and to follow the product label instructions.

The best option for finding and removing dead rodents in an interior area is to use traps such as Trapper T-Rex Rat Traps or Trapper Rat Glue Boards. Using traps allows you to check your exact placements and remove rodents quickly.

Q
Will Liquitox kill in its original powder form or only in its liquid form?

The nice in my area are smart I've used Final Blox and they wouldn't eat them whole in the bait box but when I crushed them and mixed in chocolate covered pretzels ground up really fine they ate it so I'm wondering if I could use this in its liquid form to do the same?

A
Liqua-Tox II is meant to be used as a liquid. It should not be used as a powder form according to the label. You will mix the packet in 1 pint of water for rats and 1/2 pint of water for mice.
