Is Dominion effective if sprayed on brickwork above ground?
In order form a barrier around the house, does this product have to be sprayed on the ground or trenched?

A For ant control, Dominion can just be applied around the perimeter of the home and on the ground around the home since ants walk on top of the ground.  For termite control, you must dig a trench and treat into the ground as outlined in our "How To Do A Termite Treatment" article because termites enter the home from underground.

How do you get rid of termites in home?
Someone already asked this but the answer wasn't clear. The article "How To Do A Termite Treatment" only explained how to set a trench system, not how to get rid of termites IN the home.

A If you have termites in your home, you have to treat them directly with a liquid treatment.  The termite baiting system is only meant to go into the ground around the perimeter of your house to prevent new colonies from entering your home.  If termites are already in your house then that means they have already found food and will not leave your home to go to the termite stations.  If you have termites in your home, we recommend doing the liquid treatment as outlined in the "How To Do A Termite Treatment" article and then inside the home where you know you have the termites you will treat them directly by injecting the Dominion 2L into the wall or cutting a hole into the wall and spraying on the wood or however you can get the product to the termites.  It only needs to touch a few termites to work.

Can I spray Dominion 2L on the studs( walls have termites)?
I knock down those walls inside my bed room and found out there are termites activities .Can i use Dominion 2L to spray on the studs before but the new drywalls on?please tel me what is the best product and the way to kill , stop them come back ?

A Dominion will not penetrate through wood.  It can be used in the wall but you have to get it directly on the termites in the wood.  This means you have to drill a hole directly into the wood and treat the termites exactly where they are.  After the Dominion dries, it will not have any long term effect on the wood.  There is a product we carry called Bora-Care that is a wood treatment product.  It will penetrate through the wood so you do not have to get it directly where the termites are.  Also, it will stay in the wood forever and protect the wood long term.

How long does a Dominion 2l application last and is it as good as Termidor?

A Dominion 2L is a non-repellent just like Termidor, but it has a different active ingredient.  Dominion 2L will last about 7 years in the ground and Termidor will last for 10 years.  Other then the length of time in the ground they are both applied the same way.  Dominion 2L is half the cost of Termidor and that is the main reason why it has been so popular.  Dominion 2L is our best seller for termite control as of late and our customers have been very pleased with the results.

Using Dominion 2L on indoor treatment?
I found active mud tubes in the house; in the basement on exposed beams. How do I treat these? Do I pop them open and spray the Dominion 2L right on the bugs, or do I spray the exterior of the tube? If Dominion 2L is not suitable for this, what other product do you recommend?

A

You should definitely use Dominion 2L directly on the termites if you know where they are.  You would knock the tubes down and spray directly on the beam.  It also does not hurt to drill a hole into the beam and treat into the beam directly.  However, the bigger issue is that it sounds like you have subterranean termites which usually enter from around the outside perimeter of the home.  You can just spot treat the beam, but the more complete answer is to treat around the perimeter of your home completely.  This will serve two purposes.  If there are termites in other places around your home you do not know about yet, a full treatment should take care of them.  Also, if you treat around your entire home, the Dominion will last for 7 years in the soil which means you should be able to live termite free for the next 7 years.  You should read our "How To Do A Termite Treatment" article which explains exactly how you can do just as good, if not better of a treatment than a professional company.

Can Dominion 2L be used indoors?
I want to spray the expansion joints (where the concrete slab meets the wall) with Dominion 2L. Why is it not recommended for interior use? If not recommended, what could be sprayed?

A Dominion 2L is not labeled for indoor use as a pest control spray meaning it is not permitted to apply to baseboards and out in the open.  We are not sure the exact reasons, but the manufacturer has placed this restriction on it.  However, you can use Dominion 2L indoors for termites.  You can spot treat inside for termites by treating inside wall voids or expansion joints since you are not spraying out in the open.

I am out in southern Arizona, and we just had an inspection and we have couple of termite mud tubes.
I am planning on buying the Dominion 2L product. My questions are as follows: 1. We have two cement patios/porches that are about 5-7' wide-- do I need to drill or can I just apply the Dominion on the perimeter? 2. The termite company said they were going to spray something into the walls-- they called it an HP Mister? Do I need to inject anything into the walls? The walls are insulated so I assume the foam products wouldn't work. Is this an unnecessary step or is it just another layer of added protection? 3. Will the termite bait stations work if one of the mud tubes is coming up between a sidewalk and the stem wall? Or do I need to treat that with the Dominion 2L? Thanks for your help!

A

Dominion 2L is a great product for termite control.  When treating slabs you are supposed to drill where the slab meets the house.  The goal of any termite treatment is to completely surround your home around the perimeter of the foundation.  To get the product against your foundation where you have a slab you should drill through the slab.  If you decide to trench around the slab then you will be leaving this important area against the house exposed to termites.

I am not familiar with a HP Mister or what they could be placing in the wall.  Foam is not necessary if you can get to the termites under normal conditions.

Termite bait stations are just a secondary form of protection.  A Baiting System will no take care of any termites that have already found wood in your house.  They are a preventative treatment only and will only intercept new colonies in the ground coming towards your house.  The only way to eliminate termites already in your home is to treat them directly with a liquid treatment.

Please let us know if you have any further questions.  You should also read our "How To Do A Termite Treatment" article if you have not already.

Can Dominion 2L termiticide be used to kill lawn grubs

A Yes Dominion 2L can be used for grubs. For best results Dominion should be applied prior to egg hatch and applications should be watered in. For more information on the best time to treat in your region you should contact your local cooperative extension office and speak to the master gardener.

Where can we buy chemical injector system to us with dominion 2l?

A We recommend using a 5 gallon bucket or hand pump sprayers to apply Dominion 2L as a termite treatment around a home.  We do not feel it is worth it to buy a $2500 tank system for a one time treatment as a homeowner.  It is actually quite simple to apply the Dominion as a homeowner as outlined in our How To Do A Termite Treatment Article

Will Dominion 2L kill my plants or trees?
If I spray it around the exterior of my house what will it do to my plants & trees?

A When used as directed on the product label, Dominion 2L will not harm your trees or plants. Dominion 2L is actually labeled to use directly on trees and other plants for control of plant infesting insects. Please read the product label to learn how to correctly use Dominion 2L on vegetation.
