    Q
How long will Advance Termite Bait Cartridge be effective after it is opened and not used?
How long will Advance Termite Bait Cartridge be effective after it is opened and not used? Also how long will it effectively last and kill termites in a bait station that is loaded with termites?
    A
The Advance Termite Bait Cartridge should be used within 6 months of opening the cartridge from the vacuum sealed cellophane that it comes in.  Once the bait cartridge has been applied inside the station, it should continue to be checked every 3 months.  How long the station will last depends solely on the size of the termite colony and how much they eat, however the stations are made to at least last for 3 months against a large colony.

    Q
Does one need to wait for a lot of activity before placing Cartridge II in and why?
I can visually see termite activity in two of my bait systems and have placed the Cartridge II in them. However, am concerned--should I placed the Cartridge II in the 8 remaining ones--even though I do not see activity like the others??? Also, approximately how long will a cartridge last with active colony?
    A
When using the Advance Termite Bait System you would place all stations with the wood base and monitoring and inspection cartridge in the ground from the start. Once you start to see activity in a station during your quarterly checks, you will look to see how many of the discs in the inspection cartridge have been eaten. You should be able to see what looks like 3 discs through the clear sides of the inspection cartridge, and you should only take that cartridge out and replace it with the bait cartridge in when at least 1.5 to 2 discs have been eaten. This is to ensure that the termites are fully hitting those stations as their primary food source. Once they have eaten those discs, you will remove the inspection cartridge, replace it with the bait cartridge, and leave it alone until the termite colony has been eliminated, which can take roughly 90 days. You will ONLY put the bait cartridge in the stations that have activity, not in stations that have no activity or very little. If after 90 days there is still activity in the stations or the cartridge is empty, then you can put another bait cartridge in that station. Once the colony is eliminated you will replace them with a new inspection cartridge.

    Q
Will the Advance Compressed Termite Bait kill ants?
I have several stations in which small ants have apparently made a home. They run about when I inspect the station. They carry off their eggs. I have seen small ants and large red ants in the stations. The large ants seem to be in the inspection stations.
    A
The Advance Termite Bait is not labeled for ants and may or may not have any effect on them. We recommend that you use the Advance 375A Ant Bait granules to get rid of the ants. You can sprinkle the granules on the ground near where the stations are installed. The ants will consume the granules and will help eliminate the colonies that have taken up residence in the termite bait stations. Most professional companies use the ant bait granules to stop ants from invading the termite bait stations.

    Q
Why can't the Advanced Termite Bait Cartridge be sold to NY?
I have the Advanced cartridge system in place and would like to save money because the pest control company have become over priced. So why is the Advanced Termite Bait Cartridge not sold to NY and would there be a alternate component I could use?
    A
New York state has very strict regulations that prevent most professional products from being shipped there. Unfortunately, there are no alternative products that would work to replace the Advance Termite Bait Cartridge.

    Q
I installed termite bait stations, termites took the bait, installed Termite Bait II. Now what?
Do they get replaced at some point? Do I still check them periodically? How do I know they are working?
    A
Once the bait cartridge has been applied inside the station, it should continue to be checked every 3 months.  How long the station will last depends solely on the size of the termite colony and how much they eat, however the stations are made to at least last for 3 months against a large colony. If you get a hit on one or multiple stations, you will replace the green inspection/monitoring cartridge with the bait cartridge in only the stations with activity.
The bait will be carried through the colony and dispersed to feed the others and should kill the existing colony. If the termites have already found their way into your home but also found the stations, the bait cartridge alone will not rid you of that colony and a treatment with a product like Termidor SC would be needed. Please let us know if you have any other quetions.

    Q
What happens if you use the Advance Termite Bait Cartridge II from the start?
I am often gone for extended times and a 90 day inspection of the indicator bait would not be possible.
    A

No, the Advance Termite Bait Cartridge II should not be used before the Inspection Cartridges. If after 90 days there is still activity in the stations or the cartridge is empty, then you can put another bait cartridge in that station. Once the colony is eliminated you will replace them with a new inspection cartridge.

If you already have activity, it is recommended that you use a liquid, such as Termidor SC, around the perimeter of your home.

We do also now have the Trelona Direct Baiting Kit available, which is installed with bait in each station.

    Q
What Advance Termite Bait Cartridge II should I use to kill termites via the Advance Termite Bait System?
am lost thank you for helping m
    A
The cartridge that actually contains the poison is the Advance Termite Bait Cartridge (TBC). You should only use these cartridges after you have observed activity in your stations. Prior to activity the stations should contain the wooden Advance Termite Monitoring Base (TMB) and the Advance Termite Inspection Cartridges (TIC).

    Q
Does the advance termite bait cartridge fit the sentricon system?
I read that Shatter Baits, also manufactured by Dow, will fit the sentricon system. Will this product (or do you have one that does?)
    A
The Advance Termite Bait Cartridge will not fit the Sentricon system nor will any termite bait that we carry. The sizes area completly different so you would need the cartridges designed for that system. We apologize we couldn't be of more help, please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
What is the diameter of the Advance Termite Bait Cartridge II?
I plan on buying the bait cartridges, however, I'm going to make my own bait stations. What is the outside diameter of the bait cartridge?
    A

The diameter of the Advance Termite Bait cartridge is 2.70". You should note that manufacturer intends for you to use the wood base and the inspection cartridge first to lure the termites in. In can take many, many months (even years) to get termite activity in a station, and if you deploy the poison bait cartridge first, the cartridge could degrade and need to be changed before you ever see acticity in the stations. We would recommend purchasing our Advance Termite Bait System Kit for the best installation.

    Q
What would cause an Advance Termite Bait Cartridge to turn black?
I purchased the Advance Termite Bait System - Pro Kit (20 stations) 11 months ago. One of the 6 Advance Termite Bait Cartridge II has turned black. I had used it about 6 months ago for a month, removed it from the station, dried it out and put it back in its plastic bag. What caused it to turn black?
    A

Once the Advance Termite Bait Cartridge has been placed in the bait station, you cannot remove it and store it for future use.  You must dispose of the bait cartridge after removing from the station when no more activity is present. Once it is placed in the station it is exposed to moisture which would be hard to get completely out.  Then placing it in a plastic bag provided the perfect environment for mold and wood rot to set in. This is why the station turned black.

  • Asked by Randel from Freedom, Nh
    09/27/2017
    Q
Will the Advance Termite Bait Cartridge II kill adults, worker/feeders, and king/queen?
I asked a pest control company about this product and they said that: "it will interrupt Molting to adults between nymphal stages, but it will not affect adults and those other adult cast members, even worker/feeders members who have completed their development. The king and queen will also live for several years and will continue to produce eggs." Is this true? If so, how do I kill the eggs and queen, etc.?
    A

Advance Termite Bait Cartridge II  is no longer available and has been replaced with the Trelona Compressed Termite Bait. If termite activity is detected in your termite bait stations, the Inspection Cartridge is replaced with the Trelona bait. The termites will consume the bait and take some back to the queen to eliminate the colony. This could take up to three months or more depending on the size of the colony. Most termite bait active ingredients do work by disrupting the molting process.
