    After Fertilome Weed Free Zone has dried it should pose no threat to your dog even if he eats a bit of grass that has been treated.

    Will Fertilome Weed Free Zone be affective if it rains within 24 hrs?
    A

    Only rain or watering within 4 hours of application of the Fertilome Weed Free Zone would decrease the effectiveness.  Rain 24 hours after application should not effect the application.

    What is the shelf life of Fertilome Weed Free Zone? What kind of a storage environment shall I provide?

    The shelf life will be determined by how you store it. If you keep it in a temperature stable environment and out of direct sunlgiht it can last between 3 and 5 years.

    I might be missing it, but does the label on Fertilome Weed Free Zone not give water rates per fluid ounce?
    If I want to broadcast treat St. Augustine at a rate of 1.5 fl. oz per 1,000 square feet how much water do I use per 1.5 fl. oz?

    The reason there are not exact water rates is because water just acts as the carrier. It is however much water it takes for you to disperse 1.5 ounces over 1000 square feet. With that said, we generalize that 1 gallon will treat approx. 1000.

    Applications of Fertilome Weed Free Zone may be done at any time during the day. However, to reduce risk of lawn injury, avoid spraying drought stressed lawns or when temperatures are above 90°F.

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone  will not harm Kentucky Bluegrass, Perennial Ryegrass, Tall Fescue, Red Fescue, Colonial Bentgrass, Common Bermuda Grass, Hybrid Bermuda Grass, Bahia Grass, Zoysia Grass, Buffalo Grass, St. Augustine and Centipede Grasses.

    When to mow? Before or after application?
    I live in GA and have a centipede lawn. I haven't mowed yet but am wondering if I should apply this before or after I do. What is the time frame for waiting to apply or after applying?

    Normally when applying any type of herbicide you want to delay mowing at least 2-3 days before putting down the product, and then 2-3 days after as well to give the grass full time to absorb the application.

    What is the setting for the Ortho Dial N Spray?
    I am trying to knock out ground ivy and wild onion in my Kentucky blue grass/fescue lawn in Vermont. After first attempt, the ground ivy rebounded and became worse. I think I used the wrong mix ratio (too weak) and just pissed it off.
    A
    Fertilome Weed Free Zone product label recommends mixing 0.75 - 1.5 fl. oz. per gallon of water. For Ground Ivy we would recommend using the highest rate of 1.5 oz. per gallon of water. If the product instructions say to use 1.5 ounces per gallon of water, then the Ortho Dial N Spray should be set to the 1.5 oz mark if available. Broadcast (entire areas) applications or follow-up applications should be done at a 2-6 week interval which is recommended for more mature Weeds, for dense infestations, and for adverse environmental conditions.

    Does Fertilome Weed Free Zone work on all weeds, and does it harm plants?
    If you happen to spray it on yours plants, will they die too?

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone should not be applied (and drift spray) to any ornamental plants, trees or shrubs because injury will occur. It can only be applied on turfgrasses.

    Is Fertilome Weed Free Zone harmful to pets?
    A

    As long as Fertilome Weed Free Zone is used according to the label, it is not harmful to pets. Make sure all pets are out of the area during treatment until the product has had time to dry. Once this product has dried it will not pose any threat to your pets.

    When is the correct time to apply Weed Free Zone for wild violets in Fescue?
    I'm wanting to spray my yard to kill the weeds off this fall. Is it too late to use this in central Indiana? I did this a few weeks ago but the wild violets survived! Should I increase the mixture to kill these? I have bluegrass, fescue mix grasses.

    According to the Fertilome Weed Free product label: Spring and Fall treatments under adequate soil moisture conditions are preferred to the Summer treatments. Generally, Summer broadcast applications to older, drought stressed weeds are less effective. Broadcast (entire areas) applications or follow-up applications at 2-6 week intervals are recommended for more mature Weeds, for dense infestations, and for adverse environmental conditions. Spot treatments during summer may be appropriate for sparse infestations, or as a follow-up treatment, or any time broadleaf weeds are susceptible.     How long before I see any indication Fertilome Weed Free Zone is working?
    I may have used 1.0 oz of product per gallon of water instead of the recommended dosage of 1.5 oz per gallon of water. If I used too little, can I reapply? How long should I wait? When is it is applied when current temperature during application is below 90 degrees, is that OK? Hot days are coming soon to South Louisiana? Thank you

    When applying Fertilome Weed Free Zone, you will start seeing results within 7-14 days. The rate is 1.5-2 fl oz per gallon so we would recommend using that rate. Using less than labeled rates may not provide desirable results and you can reapply at 2 - 6 weeks intervals. The product should not be applied in temperatures over 90 degrees. It is recommended that you apply products in the early morning or late evening.

    Is this product more suited for spot treating smaller areas or can it be broad cast spread on entire lawn using a back pack sprayer? Not hose end.

    Fertilome Weed Free Zone is labeled to be used as a broadcast spray. A backpack sprayer would work very well for this application.

    How much area does a qt of Fertilome Weed Free Zone cover?

    The amount of coverage one quart of Fertilome Weed Free Zone will cover depends on your application ratio. The label explains depending on what you are treating to use
    .75 oz - 4.5 oz per 1,000 sq ft. If you were to use 1.5 oz per gallon of water one quart would give you approx. 21,000 sq. feet.
