Q
Can Tempo SC Ultra be used to treat fungus gnats on indoor plants?
Currently have fungus flies in some of my house plants' top soil, such as a plant consisting of swedish ivy, braided weeping fig, and wondering new.
A

Tempo SC Ultra is labeled to treat fungus gnats on indoor plants. Please refer to product label for specific instructions. Fungus gnats are present due to overwatering of the plants, so if the soil is allowed to dry completely, then the fungus gnats will die out.

01/18/2016Ruben from Lawndale, CA asked:

Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra kill baby roaches?
A

Tempo SC Ultra will kill adult roaches. It sounds like you need to use an Insect Growth Regulator to break down that life cycle. We recommend using a Gentrol product like Gentrol IGR Concentrate or Gentrol Point Source. Both will stop pest larvae from progressing to the pupal stage of development, so the larvae die before they become breeding adults and prevents future infestations. Please take a few moments to review our article on How to Get Rid of Roaches for a successful roach control program. We do recommend applying the products from one of our Roach Control Kits.

Q
Can I use Tempo SC Ultra without water or do you have it in powder form?
And if I so, in how long can my kids and I can go back to the room?
A

Tempo SC¬†Ultra cannot be used without water;†it is a liquid concentrate. Tempo Ultra WP is a wettable powder but also needs to be diluted in water.¬†If you need a powder/dust insecticide you can apply without diluting, you can use something like Tempo 1%¬†inside wall voids. Once you're finished applying it inside wall voids or as instructed on the label and the area is cleaned up from any residue, you and your kids can be back into the area.

12/30/2015Pat from Texas asked:

Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra contain pyrethrum or anything that kills the Mexican kissing bug?
A

Tempo SC Ultra contains a pyrethroid called beta-cyfluthrin, which behaves similarly to natural pyrethrum, except with†much longer residual activity. While the product label does not specifically list kissing bugs, this is a non-selective insecticide and would likely affect any insect that would contact it. Please see the following articles from Texas A&M for more information†regarding kissing bugs in Texas:

12/24/2015John from Cambridge asked:

Q
Can I spray in my cupboards filled with dishes and food with Tempo SC Ultra?
The food is packaged sealed. I have fruit flies. I have sprayed the sink and walls with Tempo but they are still here.
A

No, Tempo SC Ultra is not labeled to be used inside of cabinets. This product should only be used around baseboards, cracks and crevices.

For fruit flies, we do have a contact kill called PI Aerosol that can be used inside of cabinets. Be sure to take everything out the cabinets when you are spraying. Once it is dry, it is safe you to put everything back inside the cabinets. For this and any other fly, it is crucial to identify the source where the flies are breeding in order to eradicate the insects. Please see our Fruit Flies Treatment Guide for more information.

Q
Which product is better to use against Springtails? Tempo SC Ultra or Transport Mikron?
A

11/08/2015Lena from Seattle, Washington asked:

Q
Can I mix Tempo SC Ultra with Transport Mikron?
Is it safe to combine these two insecticides?
A

You should not mix Tempo SC Ultra†and Transport Mikron together, and you should never mix 2 insecticides together unless both labels specifically state they are safe for mixing with the other product you plan to use. Insecticides are very specifically formulated to work with certain ratios and adding any other chemical to the mix can offset the ability of the product to work properly and the way it was designed. Specifically speaking regarding Transport and Tempo; Transport is a non-repellent insecticide and Tempo is not. Therefore, mixing the two will completely take away the non-repellency of the Transport,†wasting the product and its intended use.†

10/10/2015Bernard from Cleveland, Ohio asked:

Q
How long will Tempo SC Ultra maintain effectiveness after being mixed?
And how do you dispose of leftovers?
A

You should use any diluted Tempo SC Ultra within 24 hours of mixing. If your spraying is interrupted, then be sure to agitate the tank before finishing your spraying. Solutions left in your sprayer may leave residue that can damage the sprayer or interfere with future applications, and the active ingredient will break down sitting in dilution.†You should use up your diluted solution outside and then rinse your tank before allowing it to dry and be stored.
