    Q
Will Essentria G Granules hurt my dog?
my dog is in the back yard and I dont want him to get sick if i decide to use this.
    A
As long as you follow the application instructions on the Essentria G Granules product label this product will not harm your dog. Your dog should be out of the area while you are doing the application and he can return to the area after you have watered in the granules and the surface has dried (usually about 2 hours)

    Q
Do the Essentria granules work for Mosquitoes or am I better off using the spray on my lawn?
I have a terrible mosquito and no-see-um problem in my back yard. To the point we almost pretend we don't have a backyard. :( I have kids and and organic garden. Not sure what to do. Any product advice or recommendations?
    A
The Essentria G Granules will do a great job on your lawn for mosquitoes and other insects and will last for roughly 2-3 months. However, the lawn is not the only area that the mosquitoes will breed and harbor so only treating the lawn will only have solve the problem. You could use the granules in the yard and use the Essentria IC3 spray on the surrounding bushes, trees, flowers and other ornamentals that are prime areas for a mosquito population. Or you could just use the liquid in all areas you are wanting to treat. Although the Essentria IC3 is an OMRI listed product and is all natural, it is not listed for use on edible vegetation so you wouldnt spray this product directly on your organic garden. Once you have treated your yard and surrounding areas, keep any pets and children out of the area until the surfaces have dried. Once dry, it is completely safe to resume normal activity. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

    Q
Will Essentria G Granules work on ghost ants?
    A
Essentria G will kill any ghost ants that come into contact with the treated areas. This product will not however be carried back to the colony to kill the ants there. We recommend using an ant bait granule such as Niban granules for situations where you need to get the entire colony.

    Q
A safe "Green" product to control spiders and scorpions.
We're in the countryside in south central Texas. For 3+ years, we've been using a local company to control, for the most part, spiders (particularly Brown recluse). The technician normally sprays around the house perimeter inside and outside, and sometimes spreads some granules, which smell really nice, around outside as well. We really don't know much about the products that are being used and are concerned for the well-being of our numerous inside and outside dogs, cats, and the guineas that search the grounds looking for bugs, etc. Any recommendations?
    A
For a green treatment in your area you can first use, Essentria G granules in the yard.  To treat cracks, crevices and around the perimeter of your home, you can use Essentria IC3. Both products contain wintergreen which will result in a wintergreen scent. If you can find out which products the tech was using we can try and get them for you, if we do not have them.

    Q
What is the temperature range that I must abide by to apply Essentria G Granules?
Can I use this any time of the year? I live in upstate NY where it can get cold. Also can I mix this with/apply over an IGR I have that contains nylar. Do you offer an alternative IGR?
    A
You can use Essentria as long as the ground is not frozen. You can also use it conjunction with an IGR. There are no alternative IGRs on the market. IGR's are synthetic growth hormones that mimic the growth hormones of insects so there really is not a way to make a "natural" product like these.

    Q
Can I use Essentria G Granules indoors?
Having a hard time finding an adulticide I can buy in NY State. Have used this product outside and it works great. Would like to sprinkle around the house for adult fleas. Have already used an IGR indoors.
    A
You cannot use the Essentria Granules indoors because they are not labeled for indoor use. Alpine Flea Insecticide Aerosol with IGR is the newest flea control product from the Alpine line of products.  Alpine products are made from dinotefuran which was granted a reduced risk status from the EPA.  This means that Alpine Flea Insecticide with IGR is one of the safest products you can have in your home for flea control.  The powerful ingredient in Alpine flea insecticide, dinotefuran, provides 30 days of control for adults fleas, and since Alpine flea insecticide contains an IGR, it also provides up to 7 months of control on hatching eggs.

    Q
Will Essentria G kill wild birds?
    A
The Essentria G Granules labeld does not list any warning or precautions on the toxicity to wild birds. After broadcasting the granules, it is recommended that 1/8 - 1/4 inch of water is applied to the lawn. This will help reduce the danger to wild birds that could possibly ingest the granules. Q
Can you use Essentria G Granules in the rain?
    A

It is not recommended to apply Essentria G Granules in the rain. The granules do need to be watered in after application, so you can apply right before it is going to rain so that the rain will activate the product instead of it being watered in by hand.

  • Asked by Tasha from Boyertown, Pa

    Q
Is there a product to kill Lantern Flies that is safe for chickens (free range), dogs, and cats?
We live in Berks county, Pa and are being overrun with the Lantern Fly pests.
    A

There will not be any insecticides specifically labeled for lantern flies as they are an invasive species that appears to have been primarily introduct to PA in the US and not many other areas so far. Normally they are only found in areas of China/Asia and Japan. We found this Penn State article actually that has a whole intiative taking place to try and remove them from the state and people to contact and inform if you have them on your property. You could potentially use something like the spray version of Essentria for the flies on the trees and areas they lay eggs on bark, but you may want to reach out to the contacts at the link below first.

  • Asked by T from Santa Ynez, Ca
    05/20/2021
    Q
Is Essentria G safe for use around children?
We have an earwig infestation in the garden where the children play and a TON of them are finding their way into our home.
    A

You want to be sure the children are not in the area when Essentria G Granules is applied, but they are safe to re-enter the area once the product has completely dried. Keep in mind that earwigs are going to be plentiful in very moist, rich soil, so you want to look at ways to improve drainage and reduce the moisture collection in areas where you are finding a lot of this insect.
