Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled for chiggers. Onslaught insecticide is labeled for chiggers and can be used both indoors and outdoors as a broadcast spray. Treatments for chiggers should begin in May and could need to continue through the summer as new chiggers move into the area. Treating the entire lawn is of little benefit because chiggers avoid direct sunlight and normally will not infest areas that are mowed or otherwise well maintained. Focus treatment on the unkempt areas of the lawn and lawn edge. You can also use Onslaught to do a barrier treatment around the outside of your home and in your crawl space to stop pests from moving indoors.

Permethrin SFR 36.8% is labeled to be sprayed on ornamentals. You will spray thoroughly where the insects reside but not to the point of runoff. You will use 1-3 fl. oz. per gallon of water. 

Healthy trees can be protected before the beetles attack by topically spraying them with a product called Permethrin SFR. The tree should be sprayed from the ground to 15 ft up the trunk to prevent future infestations.  Unfortunately, there is no easy solution when it comes to pine beetles. Infected trees should be cut down (before the newly hatched beetles fly out of the trees in the spring/summer) and the wood burned or chipped, while other still healthy trees should be sprayed annually to protect them. Because of the natural boring behavior of the beetle they are protected from topically applied insecticides and systemic insecticides (those injected into the tree or applied as a root drench) have proven ineffective for pine beetle infestations. 

Permethrin SFR should not be used on pastures where horses or any livestock graze. You do not have to leave the house if you are treating a different room. Persons other than the applicator and pets should be out of the treatment area until an application of Permethrin SFR or other insecticide has dried.

It is recommended to wait two weeks after the treatment of Permethrin SFR 36.8% to bathe your dog or you will simply remove the insecticide. Permethrin can be reapplied every two weeks if needed so we would recommend that you bathe your dog prior to the Permethrin SFR 36.8%.

Yes, Permethrin SFR 36.8% can be used for carpet beetle larvae. You will need to use 1 2/3 fl. oz. for each gallon of water to get a 0.5% ratio. When using this product for carpet beetles the label states to apply the spray evenly to rugs, carpets, along baseboards and edges of carpeting, under carpeting, rugs and furniture, in closets, on shelving, and wherever else these insects are seen or suspected. For the best control of immature stages, we recommend adding an IGR (Insect Growth Regulator) to your insecticide, such as NyGuard EZ1.

Permethrin SFR 36.8% is labeled for applications to peach trees at ¼ to ¾ tsp. per 1 gallon of water. Do not harvest fruit within 14 days after application. Do not apply more than 60 fl oz per acre per year.

According to the Permethrin SFR 36.8% product label, you may spray 4 fl oz to 10 gallons of water.  For severe infestation, it is permissible to use 4 fl oz to 4 gallons.

When treating poultry directly:  Use 1-4 fl oz in 3 3/4 gallons water, which should treat roughly 375 birds. Use 1 gallon of coarse spray per 100 birds."

Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not really selective, so it is possible that it could kill beneficials such as earthworms if they were to come in contact with a treated area.

For flea control, we recommend retreatment with insecticides such as Permethrin SFR every 14 days until you have no more signs of fleas. Most successful flea treatment programs require at least 2-3 treatments at 14-day intervals using both an insecticide for the adult fleas and an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) to prevent immature stages of fleas from developing into breeding adults. You will not be able to make just one insecticide application for fleas and never see them again, especially if you did not use an IGR in your treatment. Fleas multiply very quickly, and they have an immature stage that is protected from insecticide, so new fleas will continue to emerge after you have treated. Be sure, also, that you are vacuuming every day or every other day to help pick up adult fleas, flea dirt, and eggs, and also to stimulate those immature fleas so the adults will emerge and be exposed to the insecticide you have put down. You will use 0.4-0.8 oz. of Permethrin SFR per gallon of water every 21 days as necessary for bagworm control.  Keep in mind that this needs to be applied before the bags have formed.  If the bags have already formed, there is little you can do for control other than to physically remove them. 

Permethrin SFR 36.8% is not labeled to control grasshoppers, although it would likely kill any grasshoppers contacted with the spray. We recommend using Talstar P to control grasshoppers and other common pest in and around your home. Onslaught insecticide is labeled for chiggers and can be used both indoors and outdoors as a broadcast spray. Chiggers are not known to infest structures. Chiggers are most likely outdoors in your yard. Many people are lead to believe that the infestation is indoors because they do not feel the effects of the chigger bites right away and then are lead to believe they are being bitten at a later time. If you feel strongly that you are being bitten inside by something we would urge you to get a sample of the pest and have it professionally identified by an entomologist. You can find an entomologist in your area by contacting your local cooperative extension office.
