    Q
Which product will control Southern Two-Striped Walking Sticks (Anisomorpha buprestoides)
We seem to have an infestation of them at our house they keep spraying their poison at my dogs. They like to cling to the brick wall of the house and are usually found in mating pairs, with the male riding on the back of the female. My young springer spaniel, Roxie, just finished veterinary treatment for an ulcerated cornea due to being sprayed in the eye. My older springer spaniel, Sadie, was sprayed in the face this past Sunday evening and we are now undergoing veterinary treatment for both of her eyes. My vet bills are going through the roof due to these bugs. We've tried spraying them with Ortho Bug B Gone and Triazicide, but the bugs seem immune to it and do not die, even after hours of being doused. We have ended up smashing every one we can find with shoes because it seems that is the only way to kill them. Is there any product that will PREVENT them from coming into my yard in the first place? If not, is there any product that will actually kill them? Thank you for any recommendations you can provide.
    A
There are not any insecticides on the market that are labeled for the Two-Striped Walking Stick so we are recommending that you use an insecticide that we know has been very successful with other tough to eliminate insects. Demon WP is a very potent insecticide that works exceptionally well on scorpions, roaches and spiders which are all known to be very hard to kill. While Demon WP will not prevent them from venturing on to your property we think it will kill the ones who venture onto the treated areas. Keep you dogs our of the area during the application and they can return to the area as soon as it is dry.

    Q
Do you have Demon insecticide that will kill ants & termites inside the home?
My sister has the problem of the tiniest ants inside her house all over the counters and borders of the rooms, and also termites found in one of her rooms...My husband uses Demon insecticide that works for strayed roaches and ants outside our house and a few found inside our garage, but she needs it for termites also...will it help to kill them too?
    A
We recommend that you use a non-repellent product when you are also dealing with termites or you risk scattering the colony and making the problem worse. Phantom would be a good choice for indoor control of ants and termites. Phantom is an indoor/outdoor termiticide and insecticide that kills termites, ants, cockroaches, and now bed bugs, through a powerful non-repellent active ingredient. Pests can't even detect Phantom, so they walk right over it and then spread it to other insects hidden behind walls or in their home colony, killing every other pest they come in contact with.  Phantom is virtually odorless, clear in color and provides superior pest control with a long-lasting residual.

Does demon wp kill german roaches (small ones)? These german roaches seem to be resistant to most insecticide
    A
Yes, Demon Wp will kill most types of roaches. The active ingredient Cypermethrin is proven very effective against german roaches and other roaches. We also recommend to add a Roach bait Gel like Invinct Gold Roach bait gel.

    Will Demon WP kill grasshoppers?
Due to the drought, we are having a very bad grasshopper infestation in our yard, garden, and pastures.
    A
Demon Wp will kill grasshoppers, however we do not recommend applying this product in pastureland or gardens. You could use Cyonara RTS in and around the garden. As for a recommendation for pastureland treatment, please contact Your Local Cooperative Extension Office.

    Q
Used Demon, 6 scoops in 4 gallons for silverfish & they are still everywhere, what should I do?
House was vacant for about a year. Purchased in March and doing a complete remodel. We are finding silverfish everywhere, door/window frames, attic, basement, main floor, crawling on walls and ceilings, just everywhere! I first sprayed termidor inside and outside (I know it is not for inside but I was so creeped out), after little to no results I called you and was told to use demon. I bought a jar of it and sprayed 4 gallons of water with 6 scoops of demon, through out the house and the exterior. Now a week later and I just killed over 15 silverfish in about 5 minutes walking through the house, various sized on the walls and ceilings. I do not see where either of these products worked. The house is empty so there is not much I can do to remove any food source. The AC is on, so any past humidity problem is resolved but the current house climate seems to suit them fine as they are still here. This is an upscale rental home, the new tenants will be moving in the house in 1 month!! HELP!!! Also, we own the home next door as well and I have never seen a silverfish in that house??
    A
Please give us a call so that we can go over the specifics of the design of the house to try and find and eliminate harborage areas. Also, the silverfish did not arrive overnight so they will not go away over night. The Termidor is a very slow kill as it is designed to have a transfer effect throughout the population to give a wider control to the ones you dont see. The Demon has a quicker kill than the Termidor but it will still not kill them instantly. If the house set vacant for a year you could be experiencing these bugs for quite some time as there is not a way to know how many of generations there are waiting to come to life and "hatch out" into the home. Using the Demon is a great product for silverfish, but you may want to try giving them a food source as well to attack them with 2 poisions instead of just one. The Dekko Silverfish packs are one of our top products with the best results for eliminating silverfish. The pack is made of a material the silverfish are attracted to for food and as they eat into it there is an ingredient inside that they ingest and die from. You can toss these packs in attics, crawlspaces, closets, pantries, and even wall voids. We can go over your options and a time frame for expecting to see less insects when you call us. You can reach our customer service staff at 1-866-581-7378 and anyone can help you.

    Q
What is the best residual spray to combine with Gentrol IGR for control of German roaches?
I'm afraid I'm the one responsible for helping a population of German roaches relocate from the old place I was living -- I've been renting rooms and the last place had a HORRIBLE infestation. I laundered all my clothing, cleaned all my furniture before it came in the house, didn't even bring any of the boxes I used for packing inside -- I unpacked outdoors and shook everything out. This house has always had a problem with large adult cockroaches (varying between dark red and dark brown/black, this is the South) coming in from the outside because of poor weatherstripping. However, we are seeing what appear to be either babies of those or German cockroaches/nymphs in the kitchen now after I've been here two months. I think they're nymphs if they're German cockroaches, because they're nowhere near as red as the ones that had been in the other place so if they're from the same infestation maybe I have a chance to kill it off now. I do not have a real respirator (only masks or a mask with an organic filter used when working with solvents) to use to apply dust products at the moment, so my first thought was to get a residual spray for cracks/crevices/baseboards and mix with the IGR. Per an instructional video it's recommended that you spray the other rooms in the house before the bathroom/kitchen to make sure that they don't migrate out of those rooms, so I was going to do the light baseboard spray around the house and a spray around the edges of the windows, then the bathroom (where I've seen several in the night) and then the kitchen. I thought it might be worth it to do that first, wait a day, and then do the outdoor perimeter treatment to keep the adults from coming in from the outdoors. (I am going to also attempt to acquire a respirator, and if I can I'll get the hand duster and some Delta Dust and do what someone recommended -- taking a hand drill and drilling a hole next to the water pipes, injecting the dust in the walls in the kitchen and bathroom areas, then caulking back up the holes.) Does that sound like a plan, and if so, what product would you recommend for the mix? If you have two favorites, please list them, so I know a product to alternate with if it? Thanks
    A
We recommend that you apply Demon WP mixed with Gentrol IGR along the cracks and crevices. Mix 2 scoops or 2 packets of Demon WP to 1 fl oz of Gentrol per gallon of water per 1,000 sq ft. We highly recommend that you bait with a roach bait gel such as Maxforce FC Magnum. The roaches will share the bait through contact and through food sharing.

    Q
I've used Demon WP inside and out for years with great success.
However, recently we've observed discoloration on our clear sliding vinyl panels. What product will be as effective but cleaner? Also, I'm sure the pros must have a spray nozzle that directs a fine spray with a small overspray area, so I can spray around these panels without getting it all over the vinyl itself. Thanks for your answer.
    A
Our most popular general use product is called Talstar.  It is widely used by pest control companies because it is labeled for almost every insect you could have a problem with and you can use it outside the home as well as inside, it is odorless and very safe for use around children and pets.  It is a liquid concentrate that you mix with water in a one gallon hand pump sprayer.  It will last for 60 to 90 days outside in between treatments.  It is also labeled for lawn and ornamental use, and can be used on trees, plants, bushes and shrubs for all sorts of ornamental pests including Japanese beetles, mosquitoes, and other leaf eating pests. Talstar is also available in a granule formula called Talstar PL if you prefer to use granules.

    Q
I have carrion beetles inside my house and not sure where they came from or how to get rid of them. Any ideas?
I have found them mainly in the bathroom, in the tub and sink. Also have found them on the tiled floor in the kitchen. We recently moved into the downstairs apartment, which is located in the woods.
    A
We have never had an email or question about carrion beetles inside a house.  Usually they are outside and feed on dead animals.  We would first make sure that they are definitely carrion beetles.  As far as treatment, a good insecticide like Demon WP should help with the ones getting into the house.  It will help kill the ones coming into the house, but finding the source may be the only way to get rid of the problem for good.

    Q
Will Demon WP work on Palmetto bugs? If so, how would I use it?
    A
It sounds like you are referring to Palmetto bugs. To treat Palmetto bugs you want to use Demon Wp and Gentrol mixed together with water. Make sure to focus on cracks, crevices and entry points. Also, spraying 2-3 feet  up and out around the outside perimeter of your home. Be sure to also treat wall voids using a dust like Delta Dust. The combination of all 3 products will eradicate palmetto bugs and other insects as well.

  • Asked by Brian from Norfolk, Va

    Q
How often should I apply Demon WP to control predator spiders (possible brown recluse) in my crawl space.
My house has been attacked by predator spiders above and below. Spiders from the attic and spiders from the crawl space. Possibly brown recluse, but everyone says I'm outside the recluse zone. Nonetheless the spiders have a fiddle on their backs. Young spiders are emerging from the crawl space vents and biting my family. None are trapped in glue boards. My hope is that Demon WP will annihilate them. I plan to spray the crawl space walls and the exterior of the HVAC duct lines. I'm hesitant to spray the moisture barrier, but possibly the perimeter of the crawl space and the perimeter of the air vents.
    A
Demon WP can be reapplied one timer per month for indoors and outdoors for spider control. You will want to use the higher usage rate to start (2 scoops or 2 packets per gallon of water) for the fastest kill and the longest lasting results. Be sure to trim back any tree branches that over hand your home or bushes that are touching your home to remove possible harborage for spiders or their prey insects.

  • Asked by Mark from Hartville, Wyoming
    10/13/2013
    Q
I have centipedes, milipedes, boxelder bugs and various spiders in my 70 year old home. What do I use?
    A
Outdoor applications of Demon WP made once a month October - November can help you get control of the boxelder bugs, though you must understand that it will not drive them off of your property, it will only stop most of them from gaining entry into your home. You should also take the time to inspect the outside of your home and seal up any cracks, crevices or gaps you find so that you are limiting places where the insects can enter your home. Demon WP will also help eliminate roaches from your home but you will need to use it in conjunction with a high quality roach bait gel and an insect growth regulator as roaches like to hide and may not readily come into contact with treated surfaces. It is also great for spiders, centipedes and millipedes.

    Q
We are moving and we want to make sure we don't take spiders with us. Any tips?
Should I bomb the back of the moving truck? Most of our furniture and stuff has no problems but some boxes and such have me worried
    A
We do not recommend bombing the moving truck, because it is too small a space and any spiders that may be hiding in the boxes would not be touched. We do however recommend treating the house you are moving into. You could use Demon WP and apply as a coarse, low pressure treatment to areas where these pests hide, such as baseboards, corners, storage areas, closets, around water pipes, doors and windows, attics and eaves, cabinets, sinks, furnaces, stoves, behind and under refrigerators, the underside of shelves, drawers and similar areas. Also, spray around the outside perimeter of the home 2-3 feet up and 2-3 feet out.

    Q
Can l use Demon WP indoors around children and my dog?
    A
Demon WP leaves a white residue behind after it is sprayed, It meant to be used only as a crack and crevice treament on the inside of the home. If young children are a concern that might come into contact with with the residue, we would recommend using an insecticide that dries clear and does not leave an odor. Depending on what you are treating for Alpine WSG, Bifen IT or Suspend SC would be a better option as they dry clear, leave no odor and are pet and chlldren safe once dry.

How do I store unused Demon WP that I mixed for my next application (30-90 days)?

You cannot store diluted Demon WP. Diluted product starts losing its efficacy after 24 hours. Unused portions of diluted Demon WP should be poured out right against your foundation and the sprayer should be thoroughly rinsed t o prevent corrosion.
