FAQs:

What is Dr. Iron?
Dr. Iron is a combination of iron and sulfur. Iron is mixed with molten sulfur which then makes up thousands of tiny metal oxide particles in a granule. When the granules come in contact with moisture in the soil, they shatter and disperse, converting from the oxide form to the plant-available sulfate form.

What does Dr. Iron look like?
It is a homogenous granular material that is dull metallic black in color.

Will Dr. Iron stain concrete sidewalks, driveways, patios, etc?
No! Dr. Iron goes out as the oxide form which does not stain. Only after being in contact with soil moisture does it convert to the sulfate form which will stain. Since this is a slow process, Dr. Iron doesn’t stain when accidentally spilled on concrete and contacts moisture.

What about heavy metals (other than iron) in Dr. Iron?
Dr. Iron is one of the most environmentally friendly iron products on the market today. The company that makes the product has invested a great deal of money to manufacture an environmentally sound garden fertilizer.

What is the analysis of Dr. Iron?
Dr. Iron is 22% iron and 55% sulfur, so it takes less product to provide these nutrients to your plants.

Where do I use Dr. Iron?
Dr. Iron can be used on turf (for quick winter and spring green up), flowers, shrubs, vegetables, ground covers, trees, etc. It can be used anywhere in the garden where plants are yellowing or pale due to iron deficiency.

Simply apply 3½ lbs per 1000 sq ft. and water-in after application. On trees and shrubs, scatter ½-1 cup beneath the plants. On potted plants use 2-4 tsp per pot.

Does Dr. Iron help in high pH soils?
Yes. Dr. Iron is an acidifier so it will lower the soil pH. This is especially useful in Western U.S. soils where high pH is a problem.

How is Dr. Iron packaged?
Dr. Iron is packaged in 7 lb shaker cans with a perforated top for easy application, 7 lb resealable bags, 21 lb resealable bag and 40 lb bag.

    pH Adjustment

    By Ted on 04/13/2018

Purchased Dr. Iron to adjust the pH of my soil. As I understand, the material needs several weeks to show a pH change. Too soon to tell if the pH change was successful. Easy to spread, delivered as promised.

Works so much better than other Iron products for my lawn.

    By Warren on 08/09/2020

Corrected my Iron Deficiency and PH a must have product for me. I had been adding dirt to level and fill my yard I have Centipede Grass it prefers a 5.5 Acidic soil. The Dirt I was putting in my yard had a 7 for PH when I tested it and the yard I discovered yard PH had become 6.7 because of the dirt I had been using. I put 2 Bags of this down over my 6,000 SQFT Yard and spread some Peat Moss which is a 4.4 PH and in 2 weeks all the yellowing went away. A month later put another bag down over 6,000 SQFT. I now have the most lush and amazing lawn in the area it has gotten so thick it's amazing. I water TU,TH&SA @ .5 inches fertilize with 15-015 @ .5Lbs per 1000SQFT April,June, August Overseed with centipede seed in May and use Tenacity Generic as a weed killer doesn't effect the grass at all.
