Product Overview

Prentox Larva Lur (Contains Propoxur) is a ready to use and effective product to control ants (except California), cockroaches, crickets and silverfish. It has fast acting control that will kill these insects immediately, including those that are resistant to chlorinated hydrocarbon and phosphate insecticides. Baiting is the most effective control method and can be used in almost every single site. After digesting the bait, they will quickly die. Places include commercial, household, stores, warehouses, restaurants, and government buildings. Larva-Lur has low application rates (4 oz. per 1,000 square feet) to allow for less product handling and low visibility while being effective. Larva Lur is the solution for fast acting and cost effective control to eliminate crickets, cockroaches and ants.

This product used to be sold and marketed under the Envincio brand name.

Locate these bait stations on window sills, on floors near walls, in storage areas and other areas where insects have been observed. Maintain strict account of location and number of bait stations. Do not apply bait in edible product areas until operations have ceased for the day. Remove all bait stations from the edible products areas before resuming operations. Do not store Prentox Larva-Lur in or around such processing plants.

For Use in Research Facilities: The use of Propoxur in research animal quarters for pest control will not induce changes in liver microsomal enzyme activity in these animals. Prentox Larva-Lur should not be applied directly on animals nor applied where animals can feed on the bait.

For Outdoor Use around patios, driveways, sidewalks, and foundations only. Apply bait evenly in a band 2 to 3 feet wide at the rate of 4 oz. per 1000 sq. ft. around foundations, patios, driveways, or sidewalks, taking care to treat any cracks or crevices. Q
What is best to treat leaf cutter ants?
A

Leaf cutter ants can be a difficult pest to get rid of. The colonies are large and the ants make their own food so poison baits only have limited effects on this species of ants. According to several university websites, Maxforce Complete Granules containing hydramethlynon are some what effective, though they will usually eliminate only about 30% of a large colony in one treatment and will need to be reapplied several times.  DeltaGard granules is one of the only products actually labeled for leaf cutter ants. The product label recommends treating the mound directly and lightly watering the granules in. Again, it may take several treatments to get the desired results.
