How Maxforce Roach Bait Stations Work

Maxforce Roach Killer Bait Stations contain a highly attractive bait matrix with the active ingredient Hydramethylnon, all housed within a convenient child-resistant station that keeps bait fresh and protected from contamination. The red lid allows for easy inspection while creating roaches’ preferred environment, darkness, since roaches cannot see light in the red spectrum.

Hydramethylnon is a metabolic inhibitor (in a group of pesticides called trifluoromethyl aminohydrazones) with a unique delayed-action property to maximize control of ant and roach populations. This causes the target pest to have decreased energy, lethargy, and the inability to perform basic life-sustaining functions such as feeding and grooming. Symptoms are delayed, with death typically occurring within 24 to 72 hours.

Roaches ingest the bait or track through it to trigger hydramethylnon poisoning. Roaches then act as poison carriers by coming in contact with other roaches. Poison is also effectively spread throughout roach colonies when the affected roach dies and the other roaches feed on its carcass or feces. This is called the “Domino Effect.” Because hydramethylnon works more slowly than other active ingredients, such as fipronil, it spreads more thoroughly through the roach population for a better secondary kill.

Target Pests

Small roaches such as German and Brown-Banded

PESTS CONTROLLED: Small cockroaches such as German or Brown-Banded roaches

Target Uses of Maxforce Roach Bait Stations

Maxforce Roach Killer Bait Stations can be used in virtually any roach infestation of small roaches (do not use for large roaches such as Oriental roaches). Stations are ready-to-use and require no extra cleanup, so they require no maintenance except monitoring and replacing as needed. Maxforce Roach Killer Bait Stations have a unique child-resistant design, so they can be used even in sensitive situations. Bait stations also protect the bait from contamination like dust or other debris. The included adhesive also makes stations easy to apply discreetly, in any orientation, for use in public areas.

Bait stations are the preferred formulation when harsh conditions exist in treatment sites that may compromise gel baits. Use stations where high moisture/humidity, temperature extremes or dust may reduce long term gel attractiveness. Examples of such sites include: dishwashing rooms; drop ceiling spaces; ovens and steam tables. Stations may also be a better long-term control choice in harborage sites that are difficult to service regularly, or may be sensitive to other formulations such as sprays and/or dusts. Examples of these sites include: inside appliances; vending machines, around electronics and in and around animal habitats.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Hydramethylnon 2.0%

Application Instructions

1. Stations are ready-to-use out of the bag. Place MAXFORCE Roach Killer Small Bait Stations in areas where cockroaches have been seen and where they hide. Cockroaches infest dark, warm, damp locations.

2. The bait stations can be stuck to a vertical surface by peeling off the bottom label to expose adhesive.

3. For effective roach control use 4-6 bait stations per 100 sq. ft. of horizontal surface area. Place adjacent to walls and flush in corners.

4. Do not spray the bait stations. Avoid placing the bait stations on freshly sprayed surfaces.

5. Roaches will begin eating the bait immediately and you should expect to see fewer roaches within two weeks.

6. Inspect all bait stations and replace as needed for continual control of roaches.

***Always read the product label completely before use***

Each bag contains 72 bait stations, treating at least 1,200 to 1,800 square feet of horizontal surface.

Standard Application Rates:

*Use 4-6 bait stations per 100 sq. ft. of horizontal surface area. Do not use more than 24 stations per residence.

For use in the following areas:

Any area where cockroaches are a problem, such as residential, warehousing and commercial establishments, including food service, food manufacturing and food processing facilities, hospitals, nursing homes, schools, daycare centers, health care facilities, aircraft, basements, laboratories, computer and electronic equipment facilities, pet shops, zoos, buses, boats and trains.

Indoors-

Place stations where roaches have been seen or near harborages. (Likely harborages include warm, damp locations, near or in floor drains and other exposed plumbing fixtures, near basement windows and doors, sewers, steam tunnels, and where food is prepared and stored.) For application to vertical surfaces- peel paper of bottom to expose sticky adhesive. For small cockroaches, inspect bait stations periodically and replace as needed.

Exact placement of stations indoors should be based on a complete monitoring and inspection. Do not apply stations in areas where sprays have been used or will be applied. See our Indoor Roach Control Guide for images. Examples of room-by-room placements include:

Kitchen Placements
* Refrigerator: Between refrigerator and nearby appliance, such as the dishwasher
* Sink: Alongside pipe collar where drainpipe enters the wall
* Cupboards: Flush mounted against an upper corner
* Other appliances: Behind microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, etc.
* Floor placements: Underneath dishwasher and/or oven

Bathroom Placements
* Toilet: Mounted on upper rear corner of tank
* Lower Cabinets: Flush mounted against an upper corner
* Sink: Alongside pipe collar where drainpipe enters the wall

Other Rooms
* Closets: Flush mounted against an upper corner
* Appliances: Behind the television, stereo, computer monitor, fish tank, wall clocks, light fixtures, etc.
* Dressers: Flush mounted in corner alongside the interior of the drawer frame
* Furniture: Under base of couch and/or bed where crumbs accumulate
* Utility Room/Area: Underneath hot water heater and/or adjacent to washing machine
* Garage: Flush mounted to door frame where roaches can enter residence

Outdoors-

Labeling does not prohibit use outdoors, however, stations can easily be exposed to rain and other environmental factors that may decrease acceptance and efficacy. If using stations outdoors, place only adjacent to structures in protected areas.

    miracale product

    By Skyler on 09/17/2010

This product works! We have had a roach problem for years and it was the worst infestation imaginable. I purchased this product and was simply amazed at how quickly the problem diminished. Over night the roaches seemed to die off by the hundreds. On the thhird day I was virtually roach free. It has ben six moths and I' m back to buy more on a prevenitive level. I did make some changes like never leaving dirty dishes in the sink and de-cluttering my house but I'm convinced this product worked 100% and is worth every penny! Thank you to the makers of this product; I will never live in this house with out it!!

Q
Can Roaches become immune?

I've purchased two bags now in the past 2-3 yrs of the MaxForce roach bait stations in the red bag. The last time was less then 9 mo ago and they've gotten bad again so is it an issue of them now immune to the chemicals in the red bag. If I purchased this type instead would it actually kill them as there is sadly no money back if the produce fails to work like last time :(

A
Roaches can become resistant to active ingredients if it is used non-stop over a long period of time and it is recommended that you rotate active ingredients to guard against such a situation. If you have a medium to heavy roach infestation then roach baits alone may not be able to keep up with the problem and you may need to add a couple of products to your treatment regiment. We recommend that you also use a high quality insecticide spray such as Demon WP mixed with an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol IGR. The Demon WP will quickly kill any roaches that come into contact with treated areas and the Gentrol IGR works like birth control and will help stop the roaches from reproducing. By adding these products to your treatment program you can get rid of the roaches faster.

Q
I have a couple cats that will eat dead roaches if the roaches have been in your product will it harm my cats
A
The chance of secondary poisoning from a cat eating a roach that has been in contact with roach baits is very, very slim. The cats would have to lots and lots of dead roaches in a very short period of time to be effected.

Q
Are the MaxForce Roach Bait Stations large enough to allow large Oriental Roaches to enter?

We are seeing Oriental roaches in the basement, bathroom, and kitchen. I am wondering if this bait station will be large enough to allow entrance and access to the bait? I have purchased some through local retailers, but they were too small to accommodate this large roach, so I took them back. If this bait will not work for the Oriental roach, please make a recommendation. Thank you.

A
The MaxForce Roach Bait Stations are specifically made for smaller roaches such as the Brown-Banded or German roaches. When dealing with the larger roaches such as the Oriental Roaches it may be better to use a roach bait gel such as The Maxforce FC Magnum or the Advion Roach Bait Gel. You can apply the gel directly to cracks or crevices and you will not have to worry about whether or not the roach can fit into a station.

Q
I bought a Maxforce FC roach bait station and wanted to ask is this is safe to put on kitchen or pantry?

Are the fumes from the bag and bait station safe if inhaled or smelled on the place like kitchen or pantry.

A
No fumes will leak into the air as the ingredients inside the stations are 90% food based ingredients just like what you would have in your pantry or cabinets. The toxicity level of the stations is only enough to harm something the size of a roach.

Q
Do Maxforce Roach Bait Stations work on palmetto bugs 2-3 inches in length?
A
No, the Maxforce Roach Bait Stations will not be able to accommodate the large American roach aka Palmetto bug. Most roach bait stations do not list this large roach on their label because they are too big to get into the stations. A good alternative bait would be the Dupont Advion Roach Bait Gel. You can put spots right into cracks and crevices where the roaches like to hide. We also recommend using and insect growth regulator to stop the reproduction cycle of the roaches while you are trying to get rid of them. You can find both products in our roach control kit # 1
