Details

Pennington Crabgrass Plus provides pre-emergent control of crabgrass (large, smooth, and southern species) when applied prior to emergence of crabgrass from the ground. In addition, this will also provide "early post-emergent" control during the early stages of growth after crabgrass emerges from the ground. For the fertilizer, 25% of the Nitrogen is slow release, providing uniform growth and sustained feeding. Particles are closely matched in size to minimize segregation and maximize uniformity of spreading.

    Very pleased with results

    By Eugene on 07/05/2018

    Verified Purchase

This year is the second year we are using this product for our Bermuda Lawn. Previously, we using Scotts Halts from local box store. I apply Pennington+Dimension twice a year, in the early Spring and in the middle of Summer for an all-season control of crabgrass and other weeds. These pre-emergents usually last 4-5 months, so Summer re-application is strongly urged, since crabgrass can take hold all the way until October in the South. Then I purchase another product with Dimension only for fall application to prevent Poa Annua from emerging in winter. Since Bermuda goes dormant in winter, I use just Dimension and add a balanced 10-10-10 fertilizer for the fall to help with root growth. However for Spring and Summer applications, this Pennington is perfect, because Bermuda loves Nitrogen and this is what this has in addition to pre-emergent dithiopyr. I feel dithiopyr is a better option than pendimethalin (ingredient in Scott's Halts) as it gave me much better results. I am happy to say that the crabgrass problem, which was an issue on our lawn, is completely gone. I would strongly recommend this product. I just purchased another 2 for Summer application and one more for Spring. Get this ahead of time, so you will have it when you're ready to apply in early to mid-March.
