ProFoam Foaming Concentrate

Pro-Foam Platinum concentrate is a unique blend of foaming agents that mixes with any type of insecticide to create a thick foam, transportable into wall voids, drains, tunnels, and any other vertical or horizontal surfaces that liquid insecticides cannot reach on their own. What makes Pro-Foam truly distinctive above other foaming agents is that it guarantees compatibility with every insecticide tested on the market. Before adding Pro-Foam to your choice of insecticide, be sure to follow all mixing instructions on the chemical manufacturer’s label. Pro-Foam rates will vary depending on the chemical and equipment used. You will need a special pressurized sprayer that has foaming capabilities in order to apply this product. Pro-Foam is non-repellent and environment friendly.

4 of 5 stars  Review of Profoam
By J. in Long Island, NY on 05/04/2010

I have used this product with Bora Care to inject the material into the voids of a concrete block foundation. I have active termites and had a bait system installed. ProFoam concentrate worked fine. I would add however don't forget to shake the mixture in the applicator before pumping up the applicator. Would recommend this product.

By Woody in New Orleans area on 12/23/2011

It sure makes a difference when you purchase supplies from folks who are truly interested in your success, using the right products for your task. I was asked do you really need that much product for one house. Please hold off on your order until Michael returns he has over 20 years of experience. I held off & discussed my situation with Michael, and changed my order. They sold less but made me spend less. I now trust their information & appreciate their honesty.

By Eric in Delaware on 05/31/2012

ProFoam Foaming Concentrate works as they said. Drilled into a porch slab and filled the holes until i saw foam coming out of the holes next to each other which tells me it was getting to the unseen areas below the concrete slab for the termite treatment i wanted. thank you very much for your product information that is so simple to understand.

5 of 5 stars  ProFoam foaming agent
By Anonymous in Arkansas on 06/17/2013

It works as described. I first tried it with water in my foamer, then with termiticide solution. About 1-2 oz per gallon of water produced a thick foam; it took 5-6 oz per gallon termiticide solution for the same results. I am very satisfied, and I'm glad I bought a gallon!

    By in CA on 08/19/2013

Works as advertised. I only used about a quart, and used one of the Solo sprayers I had from another treatment along with the conversion kit from Amazon.com. Needless to say, I'll never pay a termite company again. DoMyOwnPestControl, thank you for opening up shop...you've won a customer for life. Your customer service rivals Costco, Amazon and Nordstroms. Keep up the great work.

I can say this product makes things foamy. Unfortunately I could not use much because I could not get the Chapin foamer to work right.

Profoam really works great! 2 ounces per gallon seems to produce an adequate amount of foam for pesticide use. Highly recommend!

This was my first attempt at using a foaming marker while broadcast seeding. I constructed a home made marker using a 2 gal gas can and a small tire air pump. I used 2 oz to 1.5 gal of water - WOW, did it foam. It stayed for over an hour and dropped a big glob every 10ft or so. I marked 5 acres in 20 ft rows. Every one was impressed with my set up - worked like a champ.

I Bought the gallon size of this product. It works just as it described. I was using it with the Poly foamer 2 gallon pump sprayer. One suggestion here... Don't skimp on the solution if you want to make any headway with applying your chemical. Mix 9oz per gallon so you don't pump and shake yourself to death. It works great, but ya gotta shake, shake shake.

QI want to make a foaming Timbor solution with ProFoam Foaming Concentrate. Will the foam create a lot of pressure in my plastic sprayer?

ATo foam a product, you have to have a foaming sprayer which is a special piece of equipment.  A normal hand pump sprayer will not work properly.  We recommend our Chapin Poly Foamers that come in a 1 or 2 gallon size.  This works best when using ProFoam with another product.

QCan I foam inside an insulated drywall wall without damaging the drywall or insulation?

AYou can foam in an insulated wall and it should not damage the drywall or insulation, however insulation will prevent the foam from getting where it needs to go.  What are you trying to foam and what is your issue?  If you are foaming for termites, then you should not be concerned about foaming an entire wall void.  You should only be concerned about getting the foam near the wood and studs.  Typically when a company foams walls, they drill holes at the top of the ceiling on either side of the studs and foam down the stud from the ceiling.  This way you have gravity working in your favor and you are getting the foam against the wood which is all that matters.

QWhat's needed for in wall termite foaming?
Just purchased & used dominion 2L for sub termites under slab & in wall studs. I drilled thru slab where I saw them coming up & put min 1/2 gallon per hole. I guess I won't see results for a while now. I would like to do a foaming treatment inside the voids between studs. What do you recommend for that? Basically - how long until dominion takes effect? & what do I need for foam treatment in walls? (A non repellent i would assume). Thank you for your time, you guys have been Extremely helpful! Super satisfied with website & customer service!! Thanks again!

A

You can foam Dominion itself into voids but you will need to purchase a foaming concentrate such as Profoam to add to the solution and you will also need a foaming device such as the Chapin Poly Foamer to make the solution into a foam. You can also choose to use a ready-to use foam such as Termidor Foam which is a non-repellent too. It can take up to 90 days to see the full effect of using a non-repellent product as it is designed to have a slow kill.

We appreciate all of your kind comments about our staff and site!

QCan it be used in roach control?

AProFoam is not an insecticide itself; it is used to mix with insecticides to turn them into a foam. However, after mixing ProFoam with an insecticide, it needs to be applied through a foaming machine such as the Chapin Poly Foamer. Foams work well for treating inside holes and wall voids.

QCould you tell me the dilution rate of insecticide when mixing it with Profoam?

AThe rate of insecticide would depend on the insecticide you are using and the insects you are trying to eliminate. You will need to follow the product label on the insecticide you choose. The amount of ProFoam Concentrate will vary depending on the expansion. It will vary between 1/2 ounce (low) to 6 ounces (high). Please refer to the product label for specific application instructions.

QHow many ounces of ProFoam Foaming Concentrate do I use for 1 gallon?
Using Dominion 2L.

A

To achieve low expansion you would use 0.5 up to 1.5 oz of ProFoam per gallon of mixture. To achieve high expansion you would use 1.5 oz up to 9 oz of ProFoam per gallon of mixture. We typically recommend using about 2 to 3 oz per gallon of mixture. Please keep in mind that expansion rates will vary depending on pH and temperature.

QWhat is the mixing procedure using Termidor and ProFoam, will agent start foaming immediately when mixed?

AWe recommend that you mix 0.8 fl oz of Termidor SC and 1/2 oz-1 1/2 oz (for a low exansion) or 1 1/2 oz-6 oz (for a high expansion foam) of the ProFoam Concentrate. Once it is mixed properly, you will be ready to spray right away.

QShould I use the B&G Versafoamer or the Chapin Poly Foamer with Termidor SC and ProFoam Foaming Concentrate?
I am in need of a foamer and can you tell me the differences between the B&G Verafoamer and the Chapin Poly Foamer? There is quite a difference in cost and metal construction vs the plastic but which is better? I will be using it to inject Termidor SC and want the best foamer that will work for this application.

A

Either foamer would be a fine choice for this application. The B&G Versafoamer HH - 1 Gallon Foamer†does have a metal tank, and all parts on B&G machines are replaceable as these machines are intended for frequent use. The Chapin Poly Foamer will be fine for your application and is significantly less expensive. You can also read Customer Reviews on each of these product pages.

QTermidor SC and Boracare not foaming
I separately mixed Boracare and Termidor SC for different areas in the house (Boracare for bottom plate around house and Termidor in 2 voids). I added Profoam to the mixtures after thorough mixing. They did not foam even when I added an extra amount of Profoam. Should I mix Profoam along with the Termidor and Boracare at the same time? I tried that initially and it made a BIG foamy mass which is hard to get into tmy 1 gallon Chapin foamer.

AWhen using either the Boracare or the Termidor for foaming into a void or gallery, you would mix first the insecticide-if Termidor 0.8 oiunces into 1 gallon of water in your Chapin polyfoamer, mix well, then add ideally 3-4 ounces of the Pro foam concentrate to the container. Then shake and mix this well and as you pump it should create the foam. The only reason i can think of if you have done that and it is not foaming, is if you have the wrong tube/tip on the foamer. The chapin polyfoamer comes with two tubes/tips so that it can be a versitile tool and be used as a sprayer AND a foamer. Are you positive you have the foaming tube on the container? If you have more questions or want to trouble shoot it may be easiest to call us at 866-581-7378, or if you feel its a foamer issue, contact Chapin directly for troubleshooting at (800) 950-4458.

QWorker added Timbor to whole gallon of Profoam without using any water. Will Profoam foam with the Timbor?
Is there anything that will clean up Profoam such as acetone, etc? How long is foam good for in sprayer?

AWe are not really sure how the products will work together in this manner. You may consider caling the manufacturer for further assitance at this point. You can reach Nisus by calling  800.264.0870

QCan pro foam be used with liquid lawn fertilizer?

APro-Foam can only be used to foam products that are labeled to be used in foaming applications. We are unaware of a liquid lawn fertilizer that is labeled to be used in a foaming application. You should also note that in order for Pro-Foam to make a liquid turn into a foam a foaming device such as the Chapin Poly Foamer would be needed.
