Protect-a-bed AllerZip Bed Bug Mattress Encasements are the pest control and hotel industry's choice for protecting mattresses against bed bugs, allergens, dust mites, dirt and liquids. These high-quality mattress protectors are used in hotels worldwide, and have been certified by an entomology laboratory to be 100% bed bug proof. Any bed bugs you seal up in the AllerZip bed bug mattress encasements cannot escape or bite through the cover, and will eventually die. This means you can save your bed bug infested mattress without throwing it out.
AllerZip mattress encasements are made of breathable, 100% white terry cotton so they are soft, cool and comfortable to sleep on. They are also allergy proof, dust mite proof, waterproof and absorbent, machine washable, and come with a 10 year manufacturer's warranty against defects in workmanship and materials.
Please measure your mattress and box spring before ordering!
Mattress encasements 11" deep will fit up to 14" deep mattresses.

Why use a mattress encasement for bed bug control?
Bed Bug Mattress Encasements are a recommended addition to any bed bug treatment program. You will still need to treat infested areas of the bedrooms. However, because the #1 breeding ground for bed bugs is the mattress and boxspring, you can now just spray and then zip up these critical areas which will eliminate a large part of the infestation. In addition, this can save an infested mattress so you don't have to throw it out and buy a replacement. Any eggs and/or bed bugs trapped in the encasement will eventually die. Mattress encasements are also nice because they provide very few if any places for bed bugs to hide and harbor (compare that with all of the folds, seams, nooks and crannies of a mattress and box spring), and they are clean and white making future investigation and treatment easy. Also consider that if you should find bed bugs on your mattress again at some point in the future, treatment would be as easy as taking off the mattress encasement and washing it in hot water. Again, the key harborage areas for bed bugs would be protected, and so would your mattress investment.
We recommend spraying an infested mattress with bed bug control products first before encasing it and then keeping the mattress encasements intact for at least 12 months (bed bugs can live a very long time without a blood meal). The bed bugs and eggs inside will die, and the mattress will be protected from further infestation.

We had gotten a vacation home in June of 2009 and about 3 weeks later I started getting bug bites. I researched what to do and did all the suggestions on your website and no more problems. Unfortunately, I hated the new mattress. So 10 months later we took off the bed bug mattress covers (King size) to replace with new mattress (Cal King size) and a few nights later I got another bite. I think it was inside the mattress cover on the old mattress and dropped out when we took it off the old mattress and the bug took a few days to crawl back up to me. I couldn't put the mattress cover back on the new mattress because it was the wrong size. So I am back to the website to order the Cal King mattress cover and box spring covers and I will be doing an aggressive bug termination again like I did last year. I wasn't sure how well the mattress covers worked until now 10 months later. The mattress cover is comfortable to sleep on. We didn't notice it made any difference, but I put a regular mattress pad on top of it.

November 25, 2009John asked:
QWhy is the Protect-a-bed cover not advertised as 15\" deep?
Protect-a-bed Bed Bug Mattress Cover - Cal King: Your mattress cover is advertised as 11" deep but supposedly fits up to 15" inches deep. Why is the cover not advertised as 15" deep? I have a 14" deep mattress, and concerned that we may be stretching the limits of this 11" cover.
AThe manufacturer of the Protect-A-Bed mattress covers decided to use the measurement of the product before it is placed on the mattress. The covers are made to stretch and should fit very snug to ensure the effectiveness of the encasement. We have sold this cover for mattresses up to 15" for years and have never had any complaints that it ripped. If your mattress measures 14" deep, then this is the correct cover for you.

QI know that AllerZip also makes this in a "deep" version for 12" to 18". Do you have that available?
A We can special order the extra deep mattress covers in most sizes for our customers. Please call our customer service line 866-581-7378 if you would like to place the order.
