Why use a mattress encasements for bed bug control?
Bed Bug Mattress encasements are a recommended addition to any bed bug treatment program. You will still need to treat infested areas of the bedrooms. However, because the #1 breeding ground for bed bugs is the mattress and boxspring, you can now just spray and then zip up these critical areas which will eliminate a large part of the infestation. In addition, this can save an infested mattress so you don't have to throw it out and buy a replacement. Any eggs and/or bed bugs trapped in the encasement will eventually die. Mattress encasements are also nice because they provide very few if any places for bed bugs to hide and harbor (compare that with all of the folds, seams, nooks and crannies of a mattress and box spring), and they are clean and white making future investigation and treatment easy. Also consider that if you should find bed bugs on your mattress again at some point in the future, treatment would be as easy as taking off the mattress encasement and washing it in hot water. Again, the key harborage areas for bed bugs would be protected, and so would your mattress investment.
We recommend spraying an infested mattress with bed bug control products first before encasing it and then keeping the mattress encasements intact for at least 12 months (bed bugs can live a very long time without a blood meal). The bed bugs and eggs inside will die, and the mattress will be protected from further infestation.

Mattress Cover
By Missy on September 14, 2010I have three of these in different sizes. Obviously, the full was the easiest to put on the mattress. But even the king size wasn't that difficult. I recommend these for anyone who's as phobic about bed bugs as I am, anyone who plans a preemtive strike.

beautiful cover
By Sarah on August 13, 2010

Delighted to find an antibug mattress cover that is *also* beautifully made and perfectly fitted, with soft smooth bright white cloth of the highest quality. Really elegant and well worth the difference in price. And great to find one for a slimmer mattress--we have a Shiffen that measures less than 8 inches and many of the covers on the market are 18 inches. No shipping charge and very fast delivery!!

Protect-A-Bed AllerZip Bed Bug Mattress Cover - KING
By Daryla on September 28, 2010

Very sturdy. Does not cause perspiration (like most plastic/non-porous covers do) and has a soft cotton topping. Zipper locks so no chance of the zipper coming loose. Very satisfied with this product--price was reasonable too.

Insurance
By Mrs. on December 5, 2010We believe in protection... even if we don't have to have it. This mattress cover zipped right on to a king mattress. We had to back up and redo the nylon zipper (it is a necessity with would seem, as one gets ahead of themselves, and the nylon zipper split apart). However, after a couple of backups and restarts (not difficult, not annoying), the cover went on dandy. We put it on the boxspring set and it has remained snug and closed since then. No dust mites for inside our new mattress! It was very wonderful. Zipper has stayed snug. Top of cover, with the terry cloth grip, is a nice feature too, and there is not a whistle of sound or rustle from the pad. Just perfectly protective! I like it and it is SOOOO less expensive here than many other places I sought to buy it first. So KUDDOS to the entomologist and DoMY OWN Pest Control!!

PROTECTS AND FEELS GREAT
By AC on December 16, 2012I thought it will be uncomfortable to sleep with it covering the mattress but instead it made me feel clean and protected. Easy to remove in order to re-spray the mattress every now and then. i want to purchase more for my children's beds.

Excellent quality and the best price on the net!!!
By Martha on November 29, 2012Excellent product!!I purchased mine for overall mattress protection. For many years, (because I had small children who'd often end up in bed with us) I used the better quality vinyl mattress protectors to insure true waterproof protection. They were fine because we covered them w/a quilted cotton mattress pad and topper so we weren't sleeping directly on them, but I grew tired of replacing them annually because the vinyl would become discolored or they'd get small splits/cracks. At the price of $75+ for a king and two twin xl's it wasn't exactly a bargain. With the children older now I was looking for something that would last but still offer good mattress protection and this seems to be it! I had no problem installing it alone on our king size bed and DMOPC has the best price on the net!!

Perfect Encasement!
By Thriftsd on October 3, 2012The right protection for our mattress! The Terry Cloth makes it a comfortable cover, compare to other plastic cover that often feel hot and stretchy all the time.

Beautiful and strong
By Kathy on May 31, 2012Ordered this for my Select Comfort box spring (metal frame with slats etc.). It fit perfectly and was strong enough to not get ripped by the metal edges of the frame. The sides have enough stretch in them to ensure an easy and good fit. Wish I could use one for the mattress as well, but had to order from Select Comfort due to the hose attachments. I am super happy with this cover.

Simply the best!
By Claudette on April 19, 2012We finally found a mattress cover that stays put, doesn't shift, or fall off the corners of the bed. We have a Sealy foam mattress and nothing would ever stay put. We got so tired of pulling the mattress cover and sheet back on every night that we were going to buy a new mattress. This is just perfect and keeps all dust mites out. We finally solved our problem and just love it.

Fits my 9 in Temperpedic
By Ardy on March 10, 2012Third time's the charm. Have tried other mattress covers but nothing seemed to fit our Temperpedic properly Bought this as a mattress cover, don't have a bed bug problem. Prior purchases were too big for my mattress. This is a perfect fit. Easy to put on with 2 people. I sleep very hot and this absolutely breathes, not waking up in a pool of water or any warmer than usual. I'd recommend it to friends.

July 29, 2010Tex asked:
QDo I need to buy an encasement for the box spring as well, or does this cover both mattress and box spring?
AThe Protect-A-Bed AllerZip Bed Bug Mattress Cover will only cover the mattress. You will need to purchase the box spring encasement separately. Both products are available on our website. The king size box spring encasement comes with a set of 2 twin xl box spring covers.
July 20, 2011Lindsay asked:
QWill the Protect-A-Bed AllerZip Bed Bug Mattress Cover - KING 11" fit my bed?
I think that my bed is 15" inches deep as the mattress cover I just bought fits mattresses 15"inches deep and that fits perfectly will the 11" inches encasement fit my bed?
AThe Protect-A-Bed AllerZip Bed Bug Mattress Cover - KING 11" does stretch to 15" deep and should fit your mattress. If the mattress is any thicker than 15" you should call our customer service line 866-581-7378 and speak to a representative about special ordering a deeper mattress encasement, the King 13".
September 2, 2012Laura from Gibsonia asked:
QIs this the terry or smooth top?
I see some are advertised terry cloth and some smooth. Which one is this?
AWe carry the terry cloth mattress encasements. If you need a smooth top encasement we would be happy to special order one for you. Please let us know if you need anything else.
May 14, 2013Troy from Lady Lake, Fl asked:
QMy mattress is 11 inches thick. Will the 9 inch cover fit best on this bed?
Also, I like the smooth top covers, can I get one. Finally, my pillows are 15" X 27" X 6", which one is best for fit.
AWhile you want a snug fit and the 9" encasement will stretch to fit an 11" mattress, you may want to go with the 11" deep encasement to ensure to rips or tears when putting it on or from pulling that will occur over time as you move on the bed. We do have the ability to get the smooth top encasements for you but you will need to call us to place an order for this as it is not one we keep on our shelf at all times. The terry cloth is the most common which is why we only have it listed on our website. The Standard Size Pillow Encasement will be the closest fit to your pillows. The cover will still be a little large but will work fine since as you lay on the pillow the size will change inside the encasement. Please let us know if you have any other questions.
