Tips for using PyGanic Dust effectively
1. Apply the product only as specified on the label
2. Do NOT apply the product where it will directly contact people and pets (for example, do not apply the dust on your pet). Keep dust treatments to cracks and crevices where insects live and hide.
3. For Bed Bugs: use PyGanic in conjunction with other bed bug control products including Bedlam Aerosol, Cyonara 9.7 or Onslaught, and other bed bug insecticides.
4. Clean-Up: Vacuum up remaining dust and dead insects after treatment.

Perfect against paper wasps
By Charles on November 1, 2010
Verified PurchaseI had some wasps go under the siding above my front door and I could hear them buzzing in the walls of a room upstairs in my house. I used 2 squirts of dust below the siding, and a couple days apart and they were all gone! The 2nd squirt probably wasn't necessary, but I had so much dust, I figured why not?

Bed Bug Eradication
By Amy on June 9, 2011
Verified PurchaseWhen applied to all baseboard cracks and crevices as well as mattress and box spring, total bed bug eradication was successful in 6 weeks. It killed all the living bugs and then lasted after a second application for the new hatchlings 4 weeks later. Total eradication in about 2 months. Very effective!

QDoes Pyganic Dust contain boric acid powder?
ANo, Pyganic Dust does not contain boric acid, but rather it uses pyrethrin which is a plant extract to kill the insect.
September 17, 2009 Torey asked:
QDoes Pyganic Dust have a long lasting effect against all insects and does it work as a residual treatment?
Could it work underneath steam hot water pipes which is the main area where the bugs in my home reside such as pillbugs, silverfish, centipede, etc?
APyganic Dust will last up to 8 months and provide long lasting residual protection on just about any insect that walks over it. The main concern is that if you apply it where there is moisture than it can lose some of its potency and turn clumpy. It is not water resistant. It can be applied underneath water pipes (unless they are leaking or dripping) and just about any other avenue that insects use to gain entry. Delta Dust may be more suited to your needs. Delta Dust is water proof and provide the same results as Pyganic dust.

QWould you recommend Pyrethrin Dust over Diatomaceous Earth powder or are they pretty much the same thing?
AWhile they are actually very different products, they do pretty much the same job. Pyganic dust is made from pyrethrins and silica gel and MotherEarth D is diatomaceous earth (crushed diatoms). Pyganic dust would need to be reapplied every 6-8 months while MotherEarth D would only need to be reapplied if it were to get wet. Pyganic dust does have a bit of a faster knockdown.

QHow does PyGanic Dust kill bed bugs?
I recently purchased PyGanic 1% Dust and applied it to my daughters room around the baseboards and inside the drawers and around the wooden platform of her bed. I did this about 2 weeks after the PCOs came and treated all of the bedrooms in my house as an extra precaution. Since the PCOs had treated my house after their first visit she has not gotten any bites. However, when my daughter slept in her room the night after I applied the dust she was terribly bitten all over her arms and shoulders. I called the PCOs again and they came back and retreated all the bedrooms. This is in addition to the relentless cleaning I have been doing. My question is then, how does the Pyganic Dust work? Does it aggravate the bed bugs to come out of their hiding place and how long does it take for it to kill the bed bugs?
A It sounds like the treatment that the PCO's applied had worn off after two weeks (bedbug treatments are supposed to be repeated about every 10 days to stop this from being a problem). Pyganic dust has the active ingredient of Pyrethrins and can take up to 1 week to kill a bedbug which is why you must use it conjunction with other products. It does seem to be coincidental that your daughter received bites the night after you applied the dust. Had she been sleeping some where else besides her room before that night? If so the bedbugs may have simply been hiding in the wall and when she resumed sleeping in her room they were able to detect her and came out to feed. We have never had complaints of the Pyganic dust causing the bedbugs to bite. If the dust has not been vacuumed up or otherwise removed there is no reason to reapply as the dust will last for several months.
September 12, 2009 Lorraine asked:
QAre bed bug dust products sold in health food stores, i.e. Whole Foods, etc.?
ANo. All of the products on our website are the same products that the professional pest control companies use and they are not sold over the counter at any retail stores. They are only available online. We do have a low price guarentee and free shipping, and we accept all major credit cards and paypal.
January 3, 2011 Steven asked:
QHow long does PyGanic 1% Pyrethrin Dust keep killing bedbugs after it has been applied?
I know that the owner will not address this bed bug problem properly, and I really wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy. I am scared that seeing it is a low rent that some unsuspecting single mother or elderly person will move in to their worst nightmare. I plan to open up all electrical outlets and treat high and low. It's a carpeted unit, so I have used silica gel under the bedroom carpet in addition to what I plan to treat when this product arrives. Is there hope that I may succeed in killing off the bedbugs?
I have very limited money available for treating the bugs, so I chose the powder for financial reasons along with a diatomaceous earth/silca gel to hopefully help the next tenants that may eventually move in. Short of camping in front of the unit to warn new tenants, this is the best I can do.
There are still those of us who care for others around us. I would truly hope that someone would care enough about where I may move as well.
APyganic dust will keep working for about 6 months after it has been applied. While it shouldn't be the only product you use to treat an infestation in a home you are living in. It can take several days to kill a bedbug that comes into contact with treated areas and will undoubtedly offer some control. It is very admirable that you are looking out for future tenants and your neighbors.
November 17, 2010 Jessica asked:
QHow much does 10 oz of Pyganic dust cover?
AIt does depend on what pest you are trying to eliminate and where you are applying the dust. The Pyganic dust product label recommends applying the dust with a hand duster at a rate of 1.5 oz of dust per 50 sq ft. This is a mid rate usage.
September 9, 2010 Anarosa asked:
QHow should I use use PyGanic 1% Pyrethrin Dust? Does it kill bed bugs?
A PyGanic 1% Pyrethrin Dust will kill bedbugs. As with almost all dust formulations, it can take about a week for the bedbugs to die after they come into contact with the product, so dusts should not be the only thing you use for bedbug infestations. According to the PyGanic 1% Pyrethrin Dust product label: "Bed bugs:
Take bed apart. Apply PyGanic Dust using a hand duster into joints, channels, cracks and crevices on bed frame, headboards and footboards. Wall mounted headboards and their hardware should be removed and treated. If hollow, square or round tubing, see that the interior framework is well dusted. Mattresses and box springs may be dusted, especially tufts, folds and edges. All furniture and furniture accessories in the room must be treated. Pull carpeting from tack strips and treat under the baseboard, sill plate and under the carpet tack strips. Treat under, behind, and into cracks and crevices of decorative moldings. Apply a continuous visible film to other potential harborage sites: table and wall mounted lamps, wall crevices, electrical boxes, outlet plate covers, switch plate covers, mirrors, picture frames and backs, door jambs, moldings and hinges, window ledges, sills, drapery rods, curtains, blinds and mounting hardware, closet shelving and hardware, picture frame moldings and other crack and crevices in the room should be treated. If Bed bugs are present, treat with an Insecticide approved for use on bed bugs."
August 21, 2010 Regli asked:
QWhat will happen if you mix 10ml of Pyganic Dust with 200 ml of baby oil? Is it safe to put on your pet?
APyganic dust is not labeled to place on pets in any circumstance. Therefore we cannot recommend placing the product on your pet or mixing it with anything.

QIs Pyganic Dust safe for dressers?
I was wondering if PyGanic dust is safe to use for places like dressers where clothes are kept?
AYou can use Pyganic dust directly into the cracks and crevices in the dresser, but we do not recommend that you use the dust in the inside of the drawer where you will placing your clothes. You can use Bedlam spray directly in the cracks and crevices in the inside of the drawers and then let the area dry before you replace the clothing.
July 15, 2010 Lisa asked:
QCan you use Pyganic Dust on cushions of chairs?
AWe would not recommend using the Pyganic dust on chair cushions. You should only use dust products on areas that will be inaccessible after the dust is applied. For instance, you could apply Pyganic dust to tufts, folds and seams of mattresses because you will put a mattress pad and sheets on the mattress before using it again, making the dust in accessible. We recommend using Sterifab on chair cushions and other sensitive areas.

QWill PyGanic Dust kill these horrific pests?
Last season, for the third year in a row, we were inundated with Japanese beetles. They have ruined my black choke berry bushes, the river birch trees, our maple trees and purple plum, not to mention my green beans, and several perennial flowers. And, of course, their grubs are ruining our once-beautiful lawn. I have used Sevin, but sparingly, and really would like an alternative that is more eco-friendly. Will PyGanic Dust kill these horrific pests?
AWe would actually not recommend Pyganic Dust for japanese beetles. Pyganic dust is really meant more for treatment indoors inside wall voids or cracks and crevices. I would actually recommend two products. One would be our Talstar pro product, which is a concentrate you mix with water. It is labeled for all lawn and ornamentals and can be applied to almost any plant, tree, or bush unless it is fruit bearing that you would eat. It will provide at least 30 days of protection and it we have had very positive feedback from customers. We would recommend Talstar along with our Beetle Bagger Japanese Beetle Trap for further control.
February 11, 2010 Richard asked:
QWill PyGanic 1% Pyrethrin Dust kill flies on dairy cattle? Is Pyganic dust organic approved?
A Yes, Pyganic dust can be applied to dairy cattle to eliminate stable flies at a rate of 2oz per animal by shaker can, or suitable mechanical dust applicator over the head, neck, shoulders, back and legs. At this time Pyganic dust is not organic approved (OMRI or NOP).
September 21, 2009 Torey asked:
QCan Pyganic Dust or MotherEarth D Dust be used near hot water pipes and not lose its potency and effectiveness?
Can I pay for my order by phone or check, because I don't feel comfortable giving the security code on the back of my Debit card?
AThe Pyganic Dust and Mother Earth Dust can both be placed anywhere where there is not water or moisture present. Both products can get clumpy and be rendered in-effective if they get wet. Delta Dust may be more suited to your needs. Delta Dust is water proof and provide the same results as Pyganic dust. We do accept payment by check/money order. You should call our office at 866-581-7378 to arrange for payment by check or if you would like to pay by credit card over the phone.
September 12, 2009 Lorraine asked:
QDo you sell pyrethrum dusters?
Many years ago Pyrethrum dust was sold in a small
bellows-type paper product container approx. 4" long,
egg-shaped, flat about 3/4" deep. Is it still available?
My Mom always kept it on hand for bed bug control as
they may be carried in by guests.
AI do not believe that product is available anymore. I have not seen it for years and years. Now the dust and the applicators are sold separately. We recommend the Bellows Hand Duster for applying Pyganic Dust.
