Misting System Chemicals

Verified PurchaseThis is the first summer out of 5 that we have used something other than RipTide in our misting system: which was about 85-90% effective against Mosquitoes. Living in the woods near the river made it a great breading grounds for mosquitoes. I found Pyranha on your website with one positive review. We tried it and have found it to be 100% effective against mosquitoes. In fact we spend Memorial Day around our pool without a single complaint that someone got bite by a MOSQUITOE! I plan to reorder the rest of the summer for a mosquito free backyard.

Works Great

No more Mosquitoes
By Al on November 13, 2012Used Riptide for years, but in the last couple of years I have noticed increasingly more mosquitoes than in previous years. I was concerned that my local population of mosquitoes might be building up an immunity to the Riptide so I switched to Pyranha to try something different. Not sure why it works better, but in addition to the fact that I saved money - I have no more mosquitoes.

OK, I guess
By Deb on May 30, 2012The product worked as long as you got it directly on the no-see-ums. (I found out after purchasing this product that it actually suffocates the insect) However, leaving a residue didn't have any affect. This was an expensive purchase for minimal results and the product requires a ton of personal protection equipment. It has a TON of warnings! Consider fly traps at WalMarts for $5.

By Pat on May 26, 2012I have used this product for two years now and it has completely eliminated the problem of spider webs and associated flying insects. We have dogs and cats that stay outside during the day and noticed to illness or skin problems. It has been worth the costs. Great product that deliveries what it states.

AYes, you could use Pyranha 1-10 PX Permethrin Misting Concentrate in a backpack fogger. Although it is mostly used in a misting system you can apply it from any type of equipment that will make a mist or fog.

Riptide recommends pH adjustment to 5.5 to 7.0 and I could not find any info on the Pyranha product about this to maintain product viability.
AThere are certain products that are susceptible to problems with high pH balances in water. If a product label does not specifically address this issue it is because this particular product does not usually have any issues with pH.

APyranha should not be used in a propane or thermal fogger. It is formulated for misting systems or cold foggers. For propane or thermal foggers you should use Pyrocide 100.

AAccording to page 4 of the Pyranha 1-10 PX Permethrin product label this product can safely be used directly on your horses as long as you follow the usage instructions.

ALike any other insect, honey bees that contact treated areas will be affected by the Pyranha 1-10 PX. In fact, Pyranha 1-10 PX is actually labeled to eliminate bees. You can help minimize the effect on honey bees by treating when they are less active.

AWe are not exactly sure what set up you have, but normally people just have a 55 gallon tank and they pour the solution, in this case the Pyranha 1-10 PX, directly into the 55 gallon drum. However, we are not familiar with your set up that has an additional small tank and we recommend you look for a brand name or sticker with the manufacturers phone number and try to contact them directly to be sure.

AMost folks use this product in their mosquito misting systems and they set the system to go off once a night when the mosquitoes are most active. The product really won't last more than 24 hours when used in this manner.
