No, the opening of the QN101 Medium Quick Draw Collapsible Net for birds & other does not close. Please note this net is not for use on cats or other larger mammals. The Heavy Duty Dura Flex net would be more suitable.

Per the manufacturer, the net on the QN101 Medium Quick Draw Collapsible Net for birds, & other does not close when you catch an animal in this net. The net collapses by pushing a button located under the net that allows the sides to fold in. So when capturing an animal you would need to be able to access that button in order for the net to collapse at that point.
Per the note on the product page: NOTE: The handle is collapsible not the net.
We do not currently carry a net that can be cinched closed like you reference once the animal is caught. If you tell us what you are trying to catch we would be more than happy to see if we have something else that may better fit your needs.
