Ranger Pro Herbicide

Ranger Pro with 41% Glyphosate (same active ingredient as Roundup) is a complete broad spectrum non-selective post-emergent professional herbicide. Ranger Pro is the generic of Roundup Pro, and is equivalent and just as effective as the name brand, only much less expensive. This generic roundup will kill most weeds and grasses. It is formulated as a water-soluble liquid with surfactant, therefore no additional surfactant is needed. Ranger Pro moves through the plant from the point of foliage contact to and into the root system. It is then absorbed into the soil and breaks down naturally, and therefore will not spread through the ground and kill neighboring plants.

Product Description

Ranger Pro is a postemergence, systemic herbicide with no residual soil activity. It gives broad-spectrum control of many annual weeds, perennial weeds, woody brush and trees. It is formulated as a water-soluble liquid containing surfactant and no additional surfactant is needed or recommended. It may be applied through standard equipment after dilution and mixing with water or other carriers according to label instructions.

Time to Symptoms:

Ranger Pro moves through the plant from the point of foliage contact to and into the root system. Visible effects are a gradual wilting and yellowing of the plant which advances to complete browning of above-ground growth and deterioration of underground plant parts. Effects are visible on most annual weeds within 2 to 4 days, but on most perennial weeds may not occur for 7 days or more. Extremely cool or cloudy weather following treatment may slow activity of this product and delay development of visual symptoms.

Stage of Weeds:

Annual weeds are easiest to control when they are small. Best control of most perennial weeds is obtained when treatment is made at late growth stages approaching maturity. See the “WEEDS CONTROLLED” sections of this label for specific weed rates.

Always use the higher product application rate in the range when weed growth is heavy or dense, or when weeds are growing in an undisturbed (non-cultivated) area. Reduced weed control may result from treating weeds with disease or insect damage, weeds heavily covered with dust, or weeds under poor growing conditions.

Mode of Action in Plants:

The active ingredient in this product inhibits an enzyme found only in plants and microorganisms that is essential to formation of specific amino acids.

Cultural Considerations:

Reduced control may result when applications are made to annual or perennial weeds that have been mowed, grazed or cut, and have not been allowed to regrow to the appropriate stage for treatment.

Rainfastness:

Heavy rainfall soon after application may wash this product off of the foliage and a repeat application may be required for adequate control.

Spray Coverage:

For best results, ensure spray coverage is uniform and complete. Do not spray foliage to the point of runoff.

No Soil Activity:

Weeds must be emerged at the time of application to be controlled by this product. Weeds germinating from seed after application will not be controlled. Unemerged plants arising from unattached underground rhizomes or rootstocks of perennials will not be affected by the herbicide and will continue to grow.

5 of 5 stars  Killing grass
By John in Minneapolis, Mn. on 07/16/2010
    Verified Purchase

First of all, ordering this product was VERY easy and speedy. We used one and a half gallons for about an acre and a quarter. It worked beyond expectation. We checked after a week and the grass and weeds were all brown and dead. Our ratio was a quart to 24 gallons. We used a sprayer mounted on a 4-wheeler. We are extremely pleased.

5 of 5 stars  Basically a "generic" Round Up
By John in Livermore, CA on 03/31/2011
    Verified Purchase

Shipping and packaging were without any problems. Entire transaction was very professional. The product is a very affordable version of Round Up. Round Up Pro is a 48.7% concentration where as Ranger Pro is 41%. The price advantage of Ranger Pro is 2.5 gallons for less than one gallon of Round Up Pro. The 41% is more than adequate for killing off virtually everything.

Good product, good price. Excellent fast shipping. You might want to look at your company name. There is another website with a name differing from yours by only one word that sells the same class of products. It is very confusing for a buyer.

Where I live for me to go and get Roundup the same size it would have been a 40 min. drive one way and 10 min. at the dealer for a total of 90 min. time which I do not have and I value my time. This turns out to be a great deal and it was delv. right to my door for free, who could ask for anything more. It will last me a very long time. So if you factor in your time it is a great value.

QWhat ratio per gallon of Ranger Pro should the average homeowner mix to control normal weed growth?
I've been using roundup concentrate in the past, at @ 3 oz. per gallon in my sprayer. I've just tried out Ranger Pro at @ the same ratio, but it doesn't appear to work the same. By all accounts, this is the same product under a different name. Should I be expecting the same results?

ARanger Pro is comparable to Round Up but each manufacturer does have their own recommended usage rates. Ranger Pro moves through the plant from the point of foliage contact to and into the root system. Visible effects are a gradual wilting and yellowing of the plant, which advances to complete browning of above ground growth and deterioration of underground plant parts. Effects are visible on most annual weeds within 2 to 4 days, but on most perennial weeds, effects may not be visible for 7 days or more. Extremely cool or cloudy weather following treatment may slow activity of this product and delay development of visual symptoms. The amount of Ranger Pro Herbicide you will use per gallon of water will vary from 2/3 fl oz - 13 fl oz per gallon of water depending on what type of plant you are trying to eliminate. Please refer to the Ranger Pro product label for exact usage instructions.

QHow long before a rain is Ranger Pro safe to apply?

AThe product label for Ranger Pro Herbicide does not specify a certain amount of time but it does say that heavy rain soon after application may require a repeat application. The word soon is open for debate, but we would recommend only applying the product when you have a good 3-4 days of no rain in the forecast.  3-4 days of the product being dry should be enough for it to do the job.

QWhat is better Ranger Pro or Roundup Quickpro?

A

Roundup Quickpro would have a faster burndown than the Ranger Pro due to having a higher percentage of glyphosate and the added diquat.

QWhy does a thick, green plant come up in the winter in the areas where I have applied Ranger Pro?

A

Ranger Pro is a nonselective herbicide, meaning that it will kill just about any plant or weed that it is sprayed on. †However, once the weeds in the area that you have treated are dead, it will not prevent any future plant growth from occurring. †You will need to either re-treat with Ranger Pro if any other weeds pop up in the area, or treat the area with a pre-emergent herbicide to prevent future weed growth. †

QWill Ranger Pro Herbicide kill nutsedge grass?

A

While Ranger Pro is a non-selective herbicide that will kill any plants treated with it, glyphosate usually will not completely kill the underground nutlets of nutsedge. Our most popular herbicides for nutsedge that will kill the plants more effectively are Sedgehammer and Dismiss Turf Herbicide.
