Riptide is one of the most popular choices for automatic misting systems to control Mosquitoes, Flies, etc. Riptide can be used indoors and outdoors and it will not leave an oily residue as it does not contain any oil. Kills biting insects including ticks, mosquitoes and flies. Riptide is also cost effective compared to other pyrethrin sprays.
Riptide can also be used as a ULV or space spray, contact spray, around home foundations, dried fruit product storage areas, stored food areas, on peanuts, nuts, beans, seeds in bulk, bags or other packaging, in federally inspected meat and poultry plants, stored grains, on animals, treatment of outdoor annoyance pests and more. **Please read product label for application instructions and safety precautions.**

Beat The Bugs BACK!

I'm Blessed to live in South Florida where the weather has allowed me to transform my patio into my favorite room. Yep..On a canal, poolside with T.V.,bar, couches (you get the picture). Oh so inviting to everyone...including no-see-ums and veracious mosquitoes that attack in squadron formation. Solution? A misting system that I maintain/refill myself at a fraction...really..1/3..the cost of a commercial contractor...Who often uses the same spray. Riptide 5.0% works so well that I've nearly forgot that the bugs are around. Now if only they would come up with something to get rid of the Iguana's that eat my plants...

Great Product at a great price

This product contains 5% Pyethrin which is a higher concentration than the 3% you get with other products. That means you can use less and have the same results. A half-gallon of Riptide works the same as one gallon of other products. I saved about $100 by using domyownpestcontrol.com versus the product from my spray system manufacturer. Thank you!

Not effective for Tick Control

I have used product often since purchase and I'm still trying to fight ticks. Please, advice if there is something stronger than this product and particularly used for ticks?

So Far, So Good
By JK on June 27, 2012I've used Sector, Eco Exempt MC and now Riptide. By far, I prefer Riptide. Sector worked well but not as effective as the Riptide. Had nozzle clogging problems with Eco Exempt MC and it didn't even phase the rabid Florida mosquitoes. Go for the Riptide. If it works well in Florida, it should work well just about anywhere...

Riptide 5.0% Pyrethrin ULV
By Gwen on June 11, 2012We've used this product for the past 5 years and achieved excellent results. We reviewed the products and chose this one because of the 5.0% concentration. We use the product in an auto mister that is attached to the fence and circles the backyard. With outdoor entertaining, this product has been a life saver. You can actually enjoy sitting out at night and enjoying the pool. We tried another product a couple of years ago, just to see if the cheaper price product would work the same. Ofcourse, the results were not the same and we immediately ordered the Riptide. It certainly deserves 5 stars!

Awesome for ant control
By Michael on June 7, 2012Mixed a small amount of Riptide with water in a spray bottle, clearly labelled it, and then sprayed along ant path. Killed ants instantly and they didn't come back. We have had ant infestation every year but this year I decided to stop it. Pirythrin is miracle cure. With this i don't need anything else; those stupid ant boxes the "pros" sold us never worked; all my neighbors want to hire me to stop their ants. No ants in my honey anymore.

A For long lasting control of mosquitoes we recommend treating with Talstar P using a hand pump sprayer. Spray the underside of leaves of trees and bushes around your property and also treat door frames, window frames, and screens to stop the insects from coming indoors. Treat early morning or in the evening when the mosquitoes are most active for the best control. Riptide would only work well for quick control of flying insects but it does not offer a long lasting residual.

APyrethrin products only kill bedbugs if you are able to spray the bug directly, and they have no residual control. There is no one product that is appropriate for every area in your home. We have put together Bedbug Kits that feature all of the different products that are required to eliminate bedbugs. Please take a few minutes to look through our bedbug kit page to find a kit that is the right size for your needs. We also recommend using mattress and box spring encasements to help eliminate a current infestation and make future bedbug inspection easier.

ARiptide is really meant to be used in fogging applications, but it can be used in a hand pump sprayer for some uses. You did not mention what you are spraying for or where you will be spraying, so we cannot tell you the proper usage rate you will need to use. You may be able to find the information you are seeking on the Riptide Product Label or you can respond to this email with the needed information. We also carry Pyganic Pro which is a 5% pyrethrin product that is actually formulated and labeled to be used in a hand pump sprayer and may be more what you are looking for.

AAccording to the Riptide label you can use just a pump sprayer to treat cattle "To protect beef and dairy cattle and horses from Horn Flies, House Flies, Mosquitoes and Gnats, dilute 1 part concentrate with 49 parts water, mix well and apply a light mist sufficient to wet the tips of the hair. To control Stable Flies, Horse Flies and Deer Flies on animals apply 2 fluid ounces per adult animal, sufficient to wet the hair but not to soak the hide. Repeat treatment once or twice daily or at intervals to give continued protection."

AUnfortunately most pyrethroids like Onslaught can not be used in a fogger. Most pyrethroids can only be used in a sprayer as the risk of the product drifting is too great.

ARiptide can be used by a small business as long as you follow the product label. Riptide can be used to help control exposed insects. You cannot spray the food itself, just the storage containers and storage area. Please refer to the Riptide product label to be sure this product will fit your needs.

We have a large attic with moth infestation. It is difficult to access the entire attic for spraying. I have tried several different pesticides including foggers. ARiptide can be used in an attic to help eliminate moths that are exposed at the time of of the application. Riptide should be used in a fogging machine such as the Fogmaster Micro Jet ULV or the B&G Ultra Lite Fogger ULV M2400. According to the Riptide product label you can apply Riptide undiluted: Close room and shut off all air conditioning or ventilating equipment. Apply at the rate of 1/2 to 1 fluid ounce concentrate per 1,000 cubic feet of space. Direct spray towards ceiling and upper corners of room. Leave room closed for 1/2 hour and ventilate thoroughly before re-entry. You can re-apply Riptde every few days if needed. It is very important to identify the type of moth you have and then to track down the source of the moths so that it can be removed or cleaned. Without finding the source of the infestation you will likely continue to see new moths.

AThe inert ingredient part of a product is a trade secret and not disclosed to anybody. Riptide is not labeled for use on dogs or humans and should not be utilized for this type of treatment. We do not carry any products that can be used on humans. We do carry Tick Block which is labeled for use on clothing (cannot be used directly on skin). We also carry Permethrin SFR which is labeled for use on dogs. The sprayer is not ULV (ultra low volume) but does create a very fine mist spray.
ARiptide can be used in almost any type of sprayer including a backpack blower sprayer like the Solo Backpack Mist/Blower sprayer.

ANo. Riptide cannot be used around boat marinas. Riptide contains pyrethrins which is toxic to aquatic animals and cannot be used around the water. There is only one product on the market that can be used around bodies of water and that is Eco Exempt MC. Many boat marinas have started using this product in misting systems to keep the mosquitoes and gnats away. Please read through the Eco Exempt MC product label and supplemental label to see if this product will fit your needs.
