White flies on coconut trees
By Doug on April 27, 2013
Verified PurchaseI followed directions and applied four times over a three week period. It didn't have any effect on white flies on coconut trees in SW Florida. I used Dominion 2L and it worked with one treatment in three weeks. Only cost $75 for three bottles to do 20 trees. Spent over $500 on Safari. Very disapointed. DMOPC was excellent to deal with on both products.

QThere does not seem to be any instructions for use of Safari as a basal truck spray. ie. Hemlock Wooly Adelgid
ASafari can be applied as a basal trunk spray. It is part of a supplemental label that is distributed by the manufacturer separately. Here is a link to an application video with Safari from the manufacturer you should watch: http://www.valent.com/professional/products/safari/video.cfm
February 21, 2013Ivy from Aspen, Colorado asked:
QTo control spidermites on a tropical plant in a home should I Safari systemic granules or foliar spray?
ASafari 20SG cannot be used indoors and it is not labeled for spider-mite control. We are unaware of any systemic product that is labeled for indoor use for spider-mite control. Instead we would recommend a foliage spray product such as Talstar P which is labeled for use on ornamental plants indoors and is also labeled for spider-mites.
February 27, 2013James from Boles, Ar The Tree Is In Ft. Smith Ar. asked:
QWill Safari 20SG kill carpenter worms?
I'm arborist and own a tree service; I've come across a Red Oak that has a number of problems, besides the borers for which I recommended a systemic insecticide {safari or Bayer landscape} , the tree also has misltoe, Hypoxylon canker which are being removed if the damage is to great. However the other day I found a couple carpenterworms in the tree and am concerned that there is a bigger infestation in the tree and was concerned that the systemic insecticides would not affect the carpenterworm.
ASafari is not labeled for carpenter worm control and would likely only help provide control of the insects if they are sprayed directly before they bored beneath the bark. Systemic insecticides in general will not work for this pest because they live just beneath the bark. Unfortunately control is usually limited to only mechanical control by probing the tunnels with a wire to kill pupa, larva and eggs and then sealing the holes or destroying heavily infested trees.
February 11, 2013Gary from Fort Myers Beach Fl asked:
QCan Safari 20SG be used as a basal spray on palm trees for white fly?
ASafari is listed to be used in a basal system to control whiteflies on palms. Please read the product label for complete usage instructions.
