    Q
What is the most effective way to get rid of scorpions inside and out?
    A

Getting rid of Scorpions requires a combination of both chemical and non-chemical measures. Think of non-chemical measures (such as vacuuming, sanitation, harborage removal, and exclusion) as limiting or removing conditions that contribute to the infestation. These measures are largely preventative. The next step is to come in with the real ammunition, chemical pesticides, that do the job of physically wiping out an infestation. We recommend using a product that contains the active ingredient Cypermethrin such as Cyper WP. Cyper WP insecticide concentrate is mixed with water and sprayed around the outside perimeter of the home for excellent scorpion control. Cyper WP can also be sprayed indoors in select areas (keep indoor spraying to a minimum such as corners, under appliances, behind toilets, under sinks, cracks and crevices, along walls and corners in garages, basements, etc.) Use glue boards in areas of suspected activity to help monitor your progress. We also have a scorpion flashlight that can help you detect scorpions at night. For your convenience we have put all the recommended products together in our Scorpion Control Kit.

    Q
What is the best product to kill Arizona Bark Scorpions?
We have had several pest control companies do spray treatments both indoors and outdoors. We have only found 4 in our home, 2 of those were caught squeezing in underneath the French doors. The other 2 were on walls next to the door, so we do not think they got very far into the house. We no longer have any other outdoor bugs thanks to all the spraying we had done, eliminating the scorpion food source. We still have hundreds of scorpions being found in our yard and neighborhood. My husband and the neighbor hunt them every night with a black light throughout the yards and each night catch & kill upwards of 100. Yards have been cleaned of everything. We do have "rock" yards as desert landscaping is required in Las Vegas. We also have block walls in this area, not wooden fencing. Horse properties surround us, this is just a small cul-de-sac with 10 homes. And apparently thousands of scorpions. We have been here 12 years and did not have an issue until 2 years ago, and it's getting worse. HELP please :-)

    Q
Are the products in your Scorpion kit safe for animals?
    A
Animals should be out of the area while you are applying the Equil and they can return to the area as soon as it is dry which usually takes an hour or two. Glue boards should be placed in areas that are inaccessible to animals to avoid having to remove the board from their fur.

    Q
What are the application instructions for the Scorpion Control Kit?
For outside, how often do i need to apply this stuff to keep the little buggers away from my house and is a full 10 foot application from the foundation really needed? It seems a bit much but you guys are the experts, not me. Without splitting hairs, how much product is sufficient to mix a gallon, the tables are a bit over precise and mindnumbing with all the mils, 0.8 oz etc. Is 1 ounce per gallon close enough to keep it easy and call it done? Can't wait for dark so i can go outside and test the blacklight. Looks like a good product and the reviews seem to back it up so hopefully i'll have good luck with it too.Thanks.

Using the Scorpion Control Kit, you will need to mix 8oz (24 ml) of Equil Lambda per gallon of water and apply to the outside perimeter of the home once every 30 days. It is recommended that you spray 3ft up the foundation and 3ft out from the foundation (10ft ban is the max that you would want to go out). When do your application, focus on the entry points to the home (windows, doors, eaves, attic vents, cracks in the foundation). If there are any shrubs, bushes, trees that touch the side of the home, cut those back so they are not touching the side of the home. This ensures the scorpions will contact the spray on the ground and not access the side of the home from a branch. Using the glue boards on the inside of the home at entry points will help you to montior where they are entering the home.

The bottle of Equil Lambda has the squeeze resevoir on it, so you simply squeeze the solution to the 8oz (24 ml) marker and pour that into your 1 gallon sprayer. You do not want to mix more than what the label recommends, you risk over treating and not getting the results that you want.

  • Asked by Harry from Murphy, Nc

    Q
Will the Scorpion Control Kit kill small black scorpions that enter the basement or first floor of the residence?
    A

Generally speaking, scorpions are drawn to dry areas, and their main sources of food are usually small insects such as crickets and spiders. Keeping your home free of these insects will make it much less likely that scorpions will be a problem, so general pest control is always advisable. If they do get into your home, they are usually found in secluded dry areas such as closets and garages. They have also been known to hide in piles of clothes, particularly ones that have not been moved recently. Eliminating these hiding spaces will go a long way in making your other control efforts more effective. We would recommend using our Scorpion Control Kit. It comes with everything you will need to successfully get rid of scorpions. Because they are more susceptible to the negative effects of a scorpion sting, it is important to ensure that any area where your children and pets might play or live is treated thoroughly for these pests. Although, you should be sure to follow the manufacturer instructions on how long to separate them from the area after it has been treated.
