    Q
What is the difference between spring application and weed and feed fall (winter) application using Scotts Turf Builder Weed and Feed 1?
purchased more then needed in spring can I use same for fall applicaton
    A

The Scotts Turf Builder Weed and Feed 1 contains post-emergent herbicide for broadleaf weeds plus a 28-0-3 fertilizer. So the reason this is usually used in spring is because of the high nitrogen content. You would want to be careful about using that much nitrogen on your lawn when it's very hot, especially with cool-season turfgrasses which don't need as much nitrogen per year as warm-season grasses. Usually in the fall you would apply pre-emergent herbicide to prevent weeds and possible a winterizer fertilizer that has less nitrogen and more potassium.

Put the product down Monday. Watered 2-3 times per day since -- but my lawn service just showed up and mowed my lawn. Have they 'blown away' the benefit I was hoping for?

    Q
Can Scotts Turf Builder Weed and Feed 1 be applied to a dry lawn?
Will it kill ragweed? Will it kill goat weed?
    A

According to the manufacturer Scotts Turf Builder Weed and Feed 1 needs to be applied to a damp lawn and this can include morning dew. The moisture will allow the granules to stick to the weeds. The manufacturer also states this should be left alone for 24 hours and then watered in. This product will also work on ragweed, but it is not labeled for goat weed.

  • Asked by Michael from Austin Texas

    Q
Which Scotts Weed and Feed is best for Texas Southern Bermuda Tiff grass?
    A

Choosing herbicides and fertilizers that are best for each yard require more specifics than just general info can provide. To know what weed and feed will be best for you, you must determine what your yard is lacking or has too much of to choose a product with the right ratio of ingredients for ferilization; as well as what weeds are you targeting to ensure the chemical in the one you choose will cover the weeds you have. If you can provide us with what weeds you are trying to target or have the most problems with in your Bermuda lawn and if you have done a soil test to see what your lawn needs, we can find a more specific answer for your needs.
