Kelly from United States writes

Should we treat for termites if we got a clear inspection?

We had our home inspected recently and there was no evidence of termites. The bath traps were checked, attic, outside etc and no sign that we have any. Would you recommend spending over $1000 to have it treated just to prevent, or should we do a yearly inspection instead?

Answer:

Even though your home is clear of termites we understand wanting to do some type of protection on your home. Your home is a large investment that you want to protect from damage whenever you can. You can protect your home yourself with the same products that the exterminators use and save yourself a lot of money. There is some manual labor involved but its worth it to feel secure in the protection from unwanted termites. Termidor is the number 1 product for treating your home as last 10 years in the soil, longer than any other product. You can see what treating your home on your own involves in our article on "How To Do A Termite Treatment".
