    I don't understand how to mix. I have 1/2 acre of Bermuda to cover. How much granule in how much water?
    A

    Don't feel bad, the herbicide labels are very hard to read and never tell you an amount of water.  This is because the amount of water doesn't really matter, or actually it would be different for everybody.  Once you determine how much product you need to apply over 1/2 acre, the amount of water depends on how ever much water it takes for you to cover that area.  If you can equally cover 1/2 an acre with 1 gallon of water, or it takes 20 gallons of water, it doesn't really matter.  As long as the amount of active ingredient is spread equally over that area.  To calibrate your equipment, for example, a 1 gallon sprayer, mark off an area of 1,000 square feet, and cover that area at your normal pace as evenly as possible. If you used the entire gallon, you would use the recommended amount of product in 1 gallon of water. 

    The Solitaire label recommends applying between 8 ounces and 16 ounces per 1/2 acre, where 8 ounces would be for if you have a minimal amount of weeds, and 16 being used if you have a lot of weeds.  We usually recommend splitting the difference which would be around 12 ounces per 1/2 acre.  So you would add 12 ounces of product to however much water it will take to cover 1/2 of an acre.

    Solitaire actually comes in a 1lb container and each 1 pound container will treat up to 1 acre, which is 43,560 square feet.

    What is the high/low temperature range that you can apply Solitare Herbicide?
    Should I wait for fall to apply summer infestation, or can it be applied at any time?

    For best results and to avoid damage to desirable vegetation, Solitaire Herbicide should be applied when the temperature is between 55-85 degrees Fahrenheit.

    What if it rains the day after applying Solitare, do I need to re-apply?

    Solitare Herbicide does not need to be reapplied if the treated areas were completely dry prior to the rain the following day.

    Solitare Herbicide on Centipede with torpedo grass
    I have torpedo grass creeping in from my lazy neighbors! This contains quinlorac which is know to kill torpedo grass but I get mixed info on its safety with Centipede. Vantage, Hi yield grass killers barely keep it at bay and I what it dead! Since this is a decrease amount of quinlorac does that make it safe?

    Solitare Herbicide will treat the Torpedo in Centipede. It will not harm Centipede as long as you apply while temps stay below 85 degrees and is applied as labeled.

    Should Solitare Herbicide be used to treat the entire area, spot treatment, or either?
    The instructions talk about coverage per acre etc. and I saw one Q/A that mentioned up to .478 per 1 gallon of water. Is the reason the dosage is so unclear because the product is designed to be used to cover an entire lawn (healthy and weed infested) areas, and not designed for spots treatment of trouble areas? Or can it effectively be used for both? Lastly, if feasible for spot treatments, can you clearly state the recommended amount to use per 1 gallon of water?

    Solitare Herbicide should be applied as a broadcast application and is safe for listed cool and warm season turgrasses. This type of application will offer the best results, but it can be applied as a spot treatment as well. You will need to use .367 - .735 oz of product per 1,000 sq feet. The exact amount of water use will not be important. As long as the amount of active ingredient is spread equally over that area the amount of water is not important.  To calibrate your equipment, for example, a 1 gallon sprayer, mark off an area of 1,000 square feet, and cover that area at your normal pace as evenly as possible. If you used the entire gallon, you would use the recommended amount of product in 1 gallon of water.

    How do I use Solitaire to spot spray my lawn for broadleaf weeds?
    I am doing spot spraying in the lawn agains clover and other broadleafs weeds. Couldn't find right solution - how much have to mix for right concentration. I mix 50grams(about 2ounces) per 10l(about 2.2gallon) water for spraying with backpack sprayer. Do I mix too much, or it is a good rate, or not enough? Hard to understand real rate for spot spraying. Please suggest, for next time is it fine rate or need to change it?

    Which is better to use on fescue in Atlanta late April; Solitaire or Tenacity?

    Both Tenacity and Solitaire are great products for post emergent weed control. We recommend that you review the Solitaire product label and the Tenacity product label to see which product is labeled to control the target weeds in your yard.

    Yes. Solitaire Herbicide is designed to translocate throughout the plants to which you apply the product. Like other post-emergent herbicides, the product will be most effective when target weeds are young and actively growing.

    I have bermuda - in Dallas Texas - my yard is overtaken by weeds - all kinds - what product is best?

    Solitaire is a great broad spectrum selective herbicide that will help control emerged weeds in Bermuda lawns. Without knowing exactly what types of weeds you have we tried to select a product that just had a very broad label and could be used on Bermuda.

    Will Solitaire Herbicide have any adverse affect on St. Augustine?
    I used it on a mixture of St Augustine and centipede and the Augustine turn brown. Will it kill the St. Augustine?
    A
    St. Augustine grass is very fragile and is not on the Solitaire label as a turf grass that it can be used on.  It may or may not kill the St. Augustine, but St. Augustine will typically turn brown for a short time if it is not healthy and will definitely brown if it is distressed in any way.  Only time will tell, but in the future it is very important to make sure your type of grass is on the herbicide label you want to use.

    How long for complete results after spraying Solitaire Herbicide?
    i have applied solitaire and have seen some results after 4 days but there are many other weeds that are still alive. how long for complete results?
    A

    When using Solitaire Herbicide or any other herbidice for broadlead weeds it can take up to 10-14 days to see the complete results. Make sure that if you have gotten no rainfall or irrigation within 7 days after your initial application of this product in the amount of 0.5 inches, that you irrigate the application area with at least 0.5 inches of water as recommended on the product label.

    Will Solitare Herbicide kill dallisgrass in a bermuda grass lawn?
    A

    Solitaire is known to suppress dallis grass in Bermuda (will not completely control it) and it will control many other weeds. Unfortunately there are no products available (that we carry or others carry) that will kill the Dallisgrass without killing the surrounding grass. Best option is once it has emerged is to either spot spray or wipe on something like Round Up Quick Pro, or hand dig up the clumps of dallisgrass down to the root system and re-seed.

    Is Certainty Herbicide or Solitaire Herbicide better for dallisgrass?
    2 questions: 1. Would Solitaire be a better post emergent selective agent for dallisgrass than certainty? I see it also covers nutsedge and crabgrass, both of which I have in my yard (but certainty doesn't look like it covers crabgrass) 2. Certainty calls for mixing MSMA with Certainty but I don't have MSMA available. Does it suppress without MSMA?

    Both Solitaire Herbicide and Certainty Herbicide suppress dallisgrass. Both would be an excellent option for you. If you are looking to control crabgrass, Solitaire would be a better option for you.

    MSMA is not something that is currently available anymore, so it is not necessary to use it. Yes, Certainty Herbicide will suppress dallisweed without the use of MSMA.
