    Does SpeedZone contain a surfactant?
    I plan to use SpeedZone for spot treatment of Ground Ivy. Addition of a non-ionic surfactant is typically recommended for liquid herbicide application to broadleaf weeds. I do not see this recommendation on the label, nor do I recognize a surfactant on the ingredient list.

    SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate does contain a surfactant and additional one is not required for use with it. The SpeedZone Red which is very similar to the Lawn Weed Killer does state on the product label that adding one may reduce the selectivity on the turfgrass so it could harm your lawn in adding one.

    Can SpeedZoneLawn Weed Killer be used on a new lawn (from seed) that is 7 weeks old and mowed 5 times already?

    The SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer label only states that you can reseed after 2 weeks of application.  Typically you want to mow the lawn at least twice before application so there should not be an issue on a lawn as established as what you described.

    How soon can Speed Zone be re-applied?
    I sprayed the yard about 10 days ago and I don't see any signs that the creeping Charlie is dying. I don't think I used enough product when I mixed it.

    The SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate may be reapplied at 2-6 week intervals for more mature weeds, dense infestations, and for adverse environmental conditions. Make sure that you have measured the lawn area to be sprayed. Once you have the square footage of the treatment area you may then mix the labeled amount of SpeedZone (depends on your grass type) with water. Please note that the amount of water that is used is not important, what is most important is that you use the labeled amount of SpeedZone over the area you are treating.

    How to Calibrate Sprayers

    1. Mark an area of 1,000 square feet (i.e. 20 by 50 feet, or 25 by 40 feet).

    2. Place the sprayer on a level surface and add water noting the final level of water in the

    spray tank.

    3. Spray the marked area with a sufficient volume of water to provide uniform coverage.

    Refill the sprayer to the same level as before measuring the amount of water added. The

    measured water added to the sprayer is the volume needed to cover 1,000 square feet.

    4. Determine the application rate (fl oz/1000 sq ft) - 1.1 oz per 1,000 sq ft up to 1.5 oz per 1,000 sq ft (depends on grass type)

    5. To each volume of water used, as measured in step 3, add the amount of SpeedZone as

    determined in step 4.

    Example:

    If the sprayer used 2 gallons of water to cover 1,000 square feet and the desired

    application rate of SpeedZone is 1.4 oz/1,000 square feet, then you would add 1.4 ounces of SpeedZone to every 2 gallons of water to be used.

    I heard on a radio gardening show (Garden Sense on WMAL FM105.9 Saturday mornings) that you should not apply right after mowing. So how long should I wait? How many days later can I mow?

    You do not mow within 2 days before or 2 days after an application of SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate.

    The shelf life of SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate is between 3-5 years as long as it's stored in a cool, dry area away from any direct sunlight or extreme temperatures. Keep the product closed tight to prevent moisture in the product as well.

    SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer can be applied to the newly seeded areas after the third mowing. If the product was already applied, you can reseed two weeks after the application per the instructions on the product label.

    Does Speedzone weed killer kill poa annua?
    I have Kentucky bluegrass and I'm having problems controlling poa annua. Is this a good product to use or what Is a good product that you would recommend? Thanks!

    No, Speedzone Concentrate is not labeled to kill poa annua. We would recommend using Blindside Herbicide. It is safe to use on your KBG lawn and is labeled to surpress poa annua. You will use 0.075-0.15 per 1000 square feet. You will likely have to do a subsequent treatment.

    I mixed up a batch of two gallons but only used a half gallon or so to spot treat sections of lawn. Can I store it for a few weeks and use the rest later?

    What is the difference between Speedzone and Speedzone Southern?

    The main difference between SpeedZone Lawn Weed Killer Concentrate and SpeedZone Southern Herbicide would be the types of turf grasses they are labeled for use on.  The SpeedZone Southern is formulated for sensitive warm season southern grasses.
