Sterifab should be used as a supplemental product to a bed bug elimination program. We recommend using our bed bug kits to eliminate infestations. SteriFab alone will not eliminate a bed bug infestation as it leaves NO residual.
STERIFAB is so easy to use, with no dilution or prep required. Just spray STERIFAB on mattresses, bedding, furniture, carpets, vehicles, and any other inanimate surface to control bed bugs, fungus, germs, mildew, mold, and odor-producing bacteria. How do I use Steri-Fab to eliminate Bedbugs?
To Eliminate ROACHES, BEDBUGS, ANTS AND SILVERFISH LICE and LOUSE EGGS: The infested areas should be sprayed thoroughly and repeatedly, directing the spray into all crevices, cracks, hiding places, seams, creases and folds. Allow Steri-Fab to dry about 15-20 minutes before using treated area. Because Steri-Fab was formulated not to be a residual product, you must make direct contact with insects and their eggs to be effective.

This stuff works!
By Annie on September 14, 2007Wow! Does this stuff work. New York City is experiencing a resurgence in bedbugs due to people traveling all over the place, and I found the tell-tale bites on my legs. Yikes! I saved myself over $200 from the local pest control "consultation" by contacting Do My Own Pest Control. They were helpful, and within days I had my first shipment of Steri-Fab. The treatment is simple, effective, and best of all-NO odor. Using this product is as simple as cleaning your bedroom-dust, take the pictures off the wall, strip the mattress, and spritz away! I haven't had a bite in over three weeks and there is no residue or after-smell. Now I can just vacuum, dust a bit, and everything is clean and good to go! This is a great product and a fabulous website. Everyone loves a good buffet, but with Steri-Fab, you don't have to be one, LOL. Thanks again!

Easy, effective, and affordable

When I found bed bugs, I promptly bought box spring covers and the mattress covers and washed all sheets and pillows in hot water. Unfortunately, bed bugs are not limited to beds. And in the days since I had discovered them, they had moved to my sofa, as well. I ordered Steri-Fab and www.DoMyOwnPestControl.com shipped it immediately. I sprayed the sofa, area rugs, and the bed frame itself. Seven days later, I repeated the process. Not a single bite since. I am always going to keep some Steri-Fab on hand now, just in case.

Have used this product one time so far and it seems to work very well, did have a strong alcohol smell, we left the apartment after we sprayed and when we returned 6 hours later the smell was completely gone. Haven't seen any bed bugs on the couch or chair, we will spray again in about 3 weeks to make sure the bugs are gone. Didn't stain the couch fabric.

Great product

I was getting bites overnight but I wasn't sure if it was fleas from my dog or bed bugs. I had never had bedbugs before and thought I might have brought them home with me from a trip to the cabins. I finally decided to search for something online to help treat this issue when I came across this product. I ordered it and used it all over my bed/mattress and floor. I stopped getting bites! It worked great. I had to do it again a week later though. I got one new bite the following week and remembered that the instructions did recommend re-spraying a week later. So far so good!

I was desperate to find a solution for my daughter's bed bug problem. She was in the dorm and could hardly sleep waking up with bug bites or feeling them crawling on her at night. I found your website and after reading the reviews sent her the 160z bottle. It worked! I then ordered the larger size and the organic product. That helped her to sleep and finally finish the school year. I appreciated the fact that you had an MSDS so I was able to read about the product prior to ordering. You were great with shipping and delivery. I will definitely recommend your company to my friends.

FABULOUS STERI-FAB
By Amanda on March 5, 2013I Love this product. It makes your home not only smell clean but that you can feel that you are in a CLEAN home. I spray my beds between linen changes. I had some mildew growing on some wood (in process of building) & it removed the mildew without ruining the wood like bleach would have done. I spray my A/C filter as well to kill any dust mites. Like I said this is a FABULOUS & WONDERFUL Product & I would recommend it to everyone, especially if someone in your home has allergies or asthma.

The best product

I recently bought this product for bed bugs. Initially i thought after spraying it didn't work because i seen those little creatures crawling out after I sprayed, but I finally was able to sleep and woke up without seeing the little buggers near me. IT WORKS! I'm ordering another 16oz and from there will probably order the gallon. Im a little concerned if direct contact for the little red eyed monsters is most effective or does it actually kill the eggs or kill the little devil all together? Nevertheless it seems to keep them at bay and i feel that with repeated applications I might be successful with killing them.

Great product
By Carl on February 1, 2013We used the user video as a guide. It was very simple to apply. No mess and it dried fairly quickly. However it does have quite an odor for sometime but it worked just fine. No more bites for weeks since.

Bed Bugs Gone Forever
By Stan on January 27, 2013My friend left me a couch and along with some bed bugs. After doing extensive research online, I decided to go for Steri-Fab and Bedlam. I sprayed Sterifab on the couch, left the couch in cold for 3 days, sprayed again and left in cold for another 3 days.I was surprised to see that all the bed bugs were dead and gone.I also washed all my clothes using 5 caps full of Steri -Fab/load and heat dried them.I am very pleased to say that it has been 2 months and there is not a single trace of bed bug in my house. One of the best products ever.

Steri-Fab Helped Keep My Sanity
By Syble on December 16, 2012

I had pulled down a birds nest in an outside storage area and got bird mites all over me. My husband and I cannot prove that the problem was bird mites because they are microscopic. Not knowing what I was dealing with until I had gone in the house, we got them in our sofa and two lounge chairs. I battled them for approximately two months with various fumigators and sprays. I was scared we were going to have to destroy those pieces of furniture. My husband did not get bitten nor did he feel them crawling on him. I read that they can select one host. Wow! Unlucky me! To avoid getting them spread into our bedroom, I tried many, many suggestions from an online site. It is a wonder I have skin left. It reached the point that my husband and doctor believed that there were no longer any mites, that I had developed a psychosis. I, however, knew better and came across your site. Praise God! I ordered the small bottle of spray and the gallon container. I sprayed the three pieces of furniture every day and also vacuumed the furniture every day for probably two or three weeks. No more mites crawling on me nor nibbling. Because larvae can continue to hatch if not eradicated, I am still vacuuming almost every day and spraying the furniture every two to three days. I praise this product. If I feel anything that even remotely makes me think of a mite, I vacuum that furniture and spray it well. Thank you to your company. I have a prescription for medication to help me get over the "feeling" of having mites on me which I never had to take. I knew I was dealing with the real thing and it was an ordeal that Steri-Fab has helped resolve. I strongly recommend it.

March 5, 2010 Carol asked:
QCan Steri-Fab be sprayed on my clothing and shoes?
ANo, Steri-Fab is not labeled to spray on clothing or shoes. It is best not to spray insecticides on anything that will be worn on your body.
August 4, 2010 Jill asked:
QDoes Steri-fab kill on contact?
I willl be staying in a hotel in November, and I would like to know if it will kill bedbugs on contact. I don't want to stay there in a room with them until they die, and I don't want to bring them home with me either.
ASteri-Fab does indeed kill on contact. Many of our customers (and all of our staff) use Steri-Fab when traveling and staying in hotels. We always recommend pulling the sheets off of the bed and closely checking the mattress and looking behind head board and in the cracks and crevices of the headboard for evidence of bedbugs. Never put luggage on the bed or on the floor.
December 6, 2009 Ladi asked:
QCan I add STERIFAB to my laundry?
ANo, Steri-Fab would not be effective once diluted with water. If you are treating for bed bugs a normal wash and dry cycle in hot water and high heat will kill all stages of bed bugs including the eggs without having to add anything special to the wash.
May 25, 2010 Melissa asked:
QIs Steri-Fab sold in stores?
Is SteriFab sold in stores?
ANo, Steri-Fab is considered to be a professional product and is not sold over the counter. It can only be purchased at professional pest control supply stores such as ours. We always have Free Shipping and we ship your order out quickly.
August 20, 2010 Amy asked:
QDoes Steri-Fab continue to work after it dries?
If so, how long? Do the bugs that crawl on the dried surface that was sprayed die? Does it repel bedbugs?
ASteri-Fab only works while it is wet. You must make direct contact with the bedbugs and bedbug eggs for Steri-Fab to be effective. While there may be some repellency from the Steri-Fab, it is not labeled as a repellent.

John from Alpharreta, Ga asked:
QI need to exterminate scabies mites, what will work?
AScabies mites live on/in the skin and we do not carry anything to treat humans. Most folks need to visit their doctor to receive the medication needed to get rid of scabies. You may spray your furniture with a product such as Steri-fab to kill anything on furniture though treating the home is usually not necessary.
March 9, 2013 Brittany asked:
QHow long do I have to stay out of the area that I applied Ster-Fab to?
AYou need to stay out of the area until the product has dried which is usually 20-30 minutes.
February 23, 2013
Raymond from Frostburg, Md asked:
QHow long does Steri-Fab spray last on beds?
we would like know how long the spray is good on bedding mattress after it was spray once.
ASterifab only works while it is wet. Sterifab does not leave an active residual behind.

Christine from Kelso, Wa asked:
QI don't know what kind of mite I might have. I raise birds, but I can SEE when I have mites or lice?
I have tiny, barely visible bugs on my headboard, dressers and such. They are teeny tiny and looks like moving dust. I have my bedroom with three bug bombs twice, used 'In Home' spray, and bird mite dust. And they are still there. I have done all my bedding, clothes, use micro protecting bedding protectors and pillow sheets...... they don't go away! I don't get bites, but I feel them in my hair. I have had salons and doctors look for head lice or ANYTHING and they can't see anything. I SEE these on my headboard and dressers and such. I just not sure what it is, and what possibly I could use next? I have spent hundreds of dollars if not thousands on sprays, bombs, dust powder. I am going poor, and this itching is driving me nuts. Thanksfully, no bites! PLEASE help?
A Here is our best advice on mite control: It is important to be absolutely sure you are actually dealing with mites. Have the suspected mite identified by a reputable source, such as your local cooperative extension office or a reputable pest control operator. Treatments will vary for different pests. Treatment for say bedbugs is much different than the treatment for mites. If you do indeed have mites, you must first find the source of the infestation, usually a bird nest or a dead rodent on or in the home. Removal of the infested nest or bird and a thorough cleanup is necessary. For treatment in the home, we recommend you frequently vacuum all carpet and upholstery and dispose of the bag or vacuum contents in a sealed bag outdoors. Spray Sterifab on couches, chairs and other upholstered furniture where you may spend time resting. Use Cimexa Dust in all cracks and crevices around the perimeter of the room. Apply a thin coat of MotherEarth dust to rugs and carpets. Rake (not sweep) nap back and forth, causing dust to enter rug or carpet. Let product sit overnight. Repeat application as necessary and vacuum every 3 - 4 days for effective control. MotherEarth dust does not have a fast knockdown, it can take several days for insects to die after they contact the dust. Onslaught can be used for a faster knockdown. Thoroughly apply as a fine particle broadcast spray using a hand pump sprayer to infested rugs and carpets and other cracks and crevices around the perimeter of each room. Put all clothes through the dryer on high heat to help kill mites and their eggs. We have had many customers use the above recommendations with great success. Most customers report that it can take several months to get rid of all of the mites. Finding and removing the source of the infestation is very important and is the key to getting rid of the mites for good.

Marion from Boston, Ma asked:
QIs Sterifab safe if I have asthma?
ASterifab is used in nursing homes and hospitals without any issues. Having said that, we are not medical professionals and we do not know how you might be effected by Sterifab. If you decide to use the product it might be best if you let someone else apply it and not return to the room until the application has dried.

Shirell from Newark Nj asked:
Qcan i spray steri-fab directly on my mattress? is it safe to spray in a room without a window?
Is it effective alone? If i take all of the bedding off and wash, just spraying the mattress? how long before can the matress be used again?
ASterifab is labeled to be sprayed directly on mattresses and upholstered furniture. You can spray in a room that does not have a window but you should exit the room after the application and give it about an hour to dry. Your mattress should be completely dry before putting the sheets back on and using it again. Sterifab provides a fast knockdown and kill to those bedbugs and bedbug eggs that are contacted with direct sprays of the product. Sterifab does not leave a long lasting residual so it should not be the only product you use to eliminate bedbugs. Please check out our Bedbug Kits to see the products we recommend you use for bedbug elimination.

Mark from Surprise, Az asked:
Qcan you mix a pesticide with steri-fab?
Can you mix a pesticide with steri-fab for not only a quick knock down but a lasting residual? Or will the active in steri-fab detroy the active in a pesticide?
AYou cannot mix any other product with Sterifab. Spray one product and allow it to dry before spraying the second product.
March 18, 2012
Jason from Washington, Dc asked:
QIs Steri-fab safe for cats?
After use, does Steri-fab leave any residue that is harmful to cats? If so, can the residue be removed by rinsing?
ASteri-Fab is a contact kill product only and does not leave any residual. This is why it is safe to almost apply to any surface. Once it has dried, it is gone and does not remain.
March 5, 2012
QDoes Steri fab have an odor when sprayed? If "yes", how long does it last? Will it go away after drying?
ASteri-Fab does not have a strong odor at all and smells very much like rubbing alcohol. It dries very quickly and does not leave a residual. It is a contact kill product only, meaning it only kills when it is wet and there is nothing left when it dries.

Diane from Elkins Park, Pa asked:
QIs there an insecticide that kills bed bug eggs or do you have to wait until hatched and retreat?
AThere are a few insecticides that claim to kill bedbug eggs. Phantom Aerosol, Sterifab and Bedlam. You should note that those insecticides that claim to kill bedbug eggs must be directly sprayed on the eggs and they are only about 75%-85% effective at actually killing the egg. You will still be required to do retreatments every 7-10 days until you do not receive any more bedbug bites and also see no further evidence that they are active (blood stains, feces or cast skins).
