This copper mesh is just the ticket for those various gaps and spaces where mice might find a way in, around piping, gaps in closet walls near the floor and such. I had people recommend buying steel wool, but this is actually more cost effective and definitely easier to work with.

I bought this copper mesh to seal penetrations in my foundation and exterior of my house. I also used it to stuff holes from the basement up through the subfloor. I had been using closed cell expansive foam, but it was very messy and the cans of foam are single use only, so if you aren't tackling a lot of holes you end up wasting a lot. The copper mesh works great. It's surprising how little you actually need to stuff a 1 to 2" hole. For smaller holes I used a screw driver to help stuff the mesh into the crevices. I've been mouse free ever since. One tip - if you don't want to make a big mess, cut the mesh outside or in a spot that can be easily cleaned (i.e. garage) because it will make tons of tiny copper pieces when cut with scissors.
