How Suspend SC Works
SUSPEND® SC Insecticide with DeltaGard offers the benefits of deltamethrin in a concentrated suspension of pure micro-crystals. The micro-crystals give Suspend SC a long residual (up to 3 months), and instead of being absorbed into porous materials, they stay on the surface. As a result, insects continue to contact them long after the insecticide has been applied. Yet Suspend SC leaves no visible residue, has virtually no odor, and won't clog spray equipment.
Suspend SC is a residual concentrate in the synthetic pyrethroid family of insecticides. The active ingredient Deltamethrin kills by acting as a high-power poison to the insect's central nervous system. Once poisoned, the insect’s nerve cells become excited, causing paralysis and eventual death. Suspend SC is diluted with water and applied with a sprayer. Once the product has dried, pests easily pick up the millions of microscopic particles left behind, and the active ingredient kills by contact and ingestion. Though Suspend SC is deadly to insects, it is very gentle on people and pets, when used properly, and is labeled for outdoor and indoor crack and crevice use.
The formulation of Suspend SC is a Suspended Concentrate, meaning finely ground particles of the active ingredient are suspended in water. Suspend SC has no additional solvents, but it does contain surfactants to help suspend the solid particles and biocides to prevent microbial growth and extend the shelf life.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: Deltamethrin 4.75%
Suspend SC Application Instructions
*Suspend SC is a liquid insecticide concentrate which must be diluted with water and applied with a sprayer.
*It is best to shake your Suspend SC container a few times before dispensing, in case of any settling of solids.
* Treatments may be applied at 21-day intervals, or as necessary, to maintain adequate control.
* Treat specific areas that insects inhabit or where they are frequently found.
* Use 0.25 to 1.5 fluid ounces of SUSPEND® SC in one gallon of water and apply to adequately cover 1,000 sq. ft. Under conditions of severe pest infestations, when quick knockdown and/or longer residual control is desired, use 1 gallon of 0.06% per 1,000 sq. ft.
* When diluting, it is recommended to add approximately half the water to the spray tank, then add the proper amount of Suspend SC in accordance with the rates in the appropriate proportion. Agitate, then add the remaining water slowly to avoid excess foam. Thoroughly agitate the sprayer before using to insure proper suspension.
* If spraying is interrupted when using a backpack or handheld spray equipment, reinvert sprayer before use.
***ALWAYS READ THE PRODUCT LABEL COMPLETELY BEFORE USE***
1 Pint (16 oz.) of Suspend SC concentrate yields 10-64 gallons of finished solution, depending on mixing rate used. 1 Gallon (128 oz) of concentrate yields 85 to over 500 gallons of finished solution. One gallon of finished solution should cover approximately 1,000 square feet.
Standard Application Dilution rates / Mixing Ratios for Suspend SC:
*0.25-0.75 fl. oz. (7.5-22.7mL)/gal. of water – 0.01%-0.03% - maintenance or preventative treatments; smaller pests such as ants, fleas, pantry pests, and silverfish
*0.75-1.5 fl. oz. (22.7-45.4mL)/gal. of water – 0.03%-0.06% - cleanout treatments, heavier infestations, longer residual control; tougher pests such as cockroaches, spiders, bed bugs, and mosquitoes
*1.5 fl. oz. (45.4mL)/gal. of water – 0.06% - Termites (localized control only)
*0.75 fl. oz. (22.7mL)/gal. of water – 0.03% - Carpenter ants
Suspend SC is for use in the following areas:
Residential, industrial, and institutional control in and around households and other structures; commercial and residential turf and landscape ornamental plants; non-food and non-feed areas of Aircraft (cargo only), Apartment buildings, Bakeries, Bottling facilities, Breweries, Buses, Cafeterias, Candy plants, Canneries, Dairy product processing plants, Food manufacturing plants, Food processing plants, Food service establishments, Granaries & grain mills, Hospitals, Hotels, Houses, Industrial buildings, Installations, Kitchens, Laboratories, Mausoleums, Meat, poultry & egg processing & packaging plants, Mobile & motor homes, Nursing homes, Offices, Railcars, Restaurants, Schools, Ships & vessels, Trailers, Trucks, Warehouses, Wineries; carports, garages, storage sheds, unoccupied horse stables and pet kennels; athletic fields, recreational areas, residential landscapes, parks
Suspend SC may be applied as a crack and crevice or spot treatment in residential buildings and structures. Use 0.25-0.75 fl. oz./gal. of water for most treatments. Treat where pests are found or normally occur, such as around floors, baseboards, expansion joints, around water and sewer pipes, and voids formed by equipment or appliances. For spot applications, use a low pressure system with a fan-type nozzle to apply spot treatments. Do not treat entire floor, carpet or floor covering. Do not apply as a space spray. Application to furniture should be restricted to areas where prolonged contact by humans will not occur.
Suspend SC Insecticide can be converted to a foam and the foam used to treat structural voids to control insect and arthropod pests in walls, under slabs or in other void areas.
Bed bugs – Remove linens and wash before reuse. Apply to mattresses as a spot treatment, especially tufts, folds, and edges until moist. Apply to the interior of the frame. Allow to dry before remaking bed. We do not recommend Suspend SC as the sole treatment for bed bugs - instead it is recommended to use a variety of bed bug control products. There is also a high risk of resistance when using Suspend SC for bedbug treatment. See Get Rid of Bed Bugs for complete treatment recommendations.
Carpet Beetles, Fleas and Ticks – A total integrated pest management program is recommended. It is suggested that infested areas be thoroughly vacuumed prior to treatment. These areas include all carpet, upholstered furniture, baseboards and other indoor areas frequented by pets. The vacuum cleaner bag should be discarded in an outdoor trash container upon completion. Pet bedding should be cleaned or replaced. Apply Suspend SC Insecticide as a uniform coarse low-pressure spot or crack and crevice treatment to areas where these pests normally inhabit. Care should be taken to limit spot treatments to pet bedding and its surrounding area, infested floor coverings and pest habitats. Do not treat entire area of floor, carpet or floor coverings. Do not apply as a space spray. Restrict applications to furniture where no prolonged contact by humans will occur. Do not allow people or pets to contact treated areas until spray has dried. This product can be used with an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR). Effective flea control includes controlling the source of flea infestations. This can require treatment of pets with a product registered by EPA for such use and treating outside areas frequented by pets. Suspend SC Insecticide can also be applied out-of-doors for flea control. Do NOT treat pets with this product.
Use Suspend SC Insecticide to control outdoor pests by application as either a perimeter treatment, residual spray or broadcast application to lawns, grounds, and ornamental plantings.
For residual control, apply Suspend SC as a coarse low-pressure spray at the rate of 0.75 to 1.5 fl. oz./gal. of water to surfaces of buildings, porches, screens, window frames, eaves, patios, refuse dumps, garages, and lawns.
*1 Gallon of finished solution will generally cover 1,000 square feet when using a hand pump sprayer for spot or perimeter treatments.
Fire ants - Apply Suspend SC Insecticide as a drench. Dilute 1.5 fl oz per one gallon of water. Gently sprinkle 1 to 2 gallons of the diluted insecticide over the surface of each mound and surrounding area to a 2-foot diameter. For best results, apply in cool weather, 65 to 80°F or in early morning or late evening hours. Treat new mounds as they appear. Pressurized sprays may disturb the ants and cause migration, reducing product effectiveness.
Turfgrass applications – Uniform coverage is essential. Apply Suspend SC as a broadcast application using a conventional hydraulic boom-type sprayer or similar suitable equipment using a minimum of 2 gallons of water per 1000 square feet and 0.4 to 0.9 fl. oz./1000 sq. ft. (17.5 to 39 oz. per Acre). Delay irrigation or mowing for 24 hours after application for surface feeders such as cutworms and webworms. For sub-surface feeders such as mole crickets, irrigate with 0.25 to 0.5 inch of water immediately after application.
Ornamantel pests – Apply 4 to 8 fl. oz. per 100 gallons of water. Apply when pests become evident. Thorough coverage is required for best results. Apply with sufficient water to ensure coverage of upper and lower leaf surfaces.
See complete product label for additional instructions on outdoor applications.

Suspends the bugs
By Retired on October 27, 2008
Yes, that is right, Suspend SC suspends the bugs. It is so easy to apply and has no smell to it. I am glad to have found this website so I could do my own exterminating. If you can wash your hands or make a sandwich you can apply these chemicals. Make sure you buy a good pump sprayer at least as good as the one on this website for around $49. The first application will pay for itself. No more expensive visits from these so called professionals. Take it from me, retired early, I did not retire early by spending all my money. Good luck.

This product works!
By AJ on October 9, 2008
We live in a valley that is also backed by woods. I just ordered Suspend SC this year to use for asian beetles. Every year since we moved into our older house they would come about this time (the first couple weeks of october) and they literally cover the outside of our home. They get into everything, our laundry, light fixtures, food, etc. They stink and stain everything. The only way we could do anything was by vacuuming them. But I told my husband I wasn't ruining another $500 vacuum because of this problem anymore. I did some research and found this site (sooo glad) because a few days ago we sprayed the entire outside of the house, especially the windows. As I sit here right now typing, there are no lady bugs entering my house! Last year at this time I would already have my vacuum out. I went outside and looked on the house and there are hardly any landing on the spray, and those that do seem to be dying quickly. I cannot thank this site enough. I am deadly afraid of spiders and get them bad in my basement as well, but after reading other reviews I guess I won't be worry about those either!

Before spraying with Suspend SC, both my home and the homes around me were infested badly with roaches, spiders, ants and centipedes. After spraying the perimeter of my home and the inside with Suspend SC, I was sweeping up roaches, centipedes and spiders by the hundreds for about three days. then I would find roaches and centipedes that had tried to cross the boundaries I had treated. They would die within about six feet of crossing it. I would recommend it for the novice or for the professional over all other products. I would recommend all the products from this company as excellent.

I bought a place in the woods and the spiders were very bad in my basement. My wife said I needed to do something or the washing was not going to get done (washer and dryer in basement). So I tried Suspend SC and the results are outstanding. It's like a bad massacre. The bugs don't have a chance. Suspend is the best at a good price.

I'm ordering a second pint after using this product at home for the last two years. After nearly stepping on a scorpion outside my kid's room I decided I needed to do something. A friend who has his own pest control business recommended this product. I can tell its working because the next day after spraying I always find a few dead cockroaches next to my house. After spraying it's rare to find any bugs inside the house for a few months. Highly recommended.
SC Suspend & Scorpions
By Donald on April 10, 2014
I have used SC Suspend over 3 years. The problem were the Scorpions and removing their food source here in NM. SC Suspend also kills the pesky Scorpions and their food source. Tried Home Defense and Triazicide. They worked but only for 2 months. And there was always a Scorpion somewhere. May be 2 or 3 ayear would get inside the house (living area's). And in the Garage the doors never really are bug tight. And there was always a Scorpion looking for warmth in the late fall or early spring. Warm evenings very cool nites. So there heat seeking abilities would direct them to the back door. And they would get there, over 20ft.. With SC Suspend they only make it about 3 to 4 feet into the Garage before they die. It has been over a year since we have had a Scorpion in the house. I spray the Garage, the Soffets, Doors and Windows, up the side of the house 4ft., and 4 ft. from the side of the house. I even spray the the bathroom vent fan up into the attic. I have sealed the bottom corners of the entry doors to the house. The rule is if the opening is as narrow as a dime they will get in.
Awesome Bug Control
By Stephanie on April 10, 2014
This stuff works. I had a bad scorpion problem. This stuff was recommended to me about 5 years ago and I immediately noticed that the most scary pests were eliminated. I no longer have black widows or spiders, crickets... the scorpions are another story. I have eliminated the infestation but they breed 4 times a year with 100s of babies.... they are harder to control but I feel much relief using this product. I doesn't smell or harm plants either.
By Mary on April 9, 2014
After just one spraying we no longer have any. Suspend sc is easy to use, pet friendly and we are now spraying it around our house and fences. Thank you.
This stuff is great
By Bill on April 7, 2014
I have been battling the multicolored asian lady beetles for years without success using all kinds of products. This year, the infestation was terrible, we could hardly keep up with them finding ways into the house. I sprayed using a 4 gallon backpack sprayer mixing 1.5 ounces per gallon. Within hours, the bugs were piling up in the hundreds. I sprayed every seam, crevice and joint on the house exterior The next morning there were thousands of the bugs dead on the porches and on the ground around our two external chimneys. I also sprayed our outbuildings and barn with the same success in killing them. It has been 22 days since I sprayed and it is still killing them---we hardly see these bugs any more. You can't beat the price either! Fast, free shipping.

Have used this for several years now and have never had any pest problems. The price is far cheaper than having an outside source do it.

Works very well
By Viv on February 24, 2014
I live in a rental in the older part of Dallas, with lots of mature trees and homes built in the 1940's. The neighborhood has an American Roach problem. I've only seen one roach about half alive since spraying the outside perimeter of the home with this product. It's easy to use and easy to understand instructions were a big help. I will definitely be using throughout the summer months and until I move.

This is our 2nd purchase, the first a few years back in New Mexico, now we use it in FL for bugs at our apts. Stuff works great and even the pest control companies ask why we call them when they see we have the same stuff as them!
A gift worth giving.
By Ferdinand on January 24, 2014
Purchased Suspend SC as gift for niece (age mid-60s) who had heard of item. Received report that problem was with roaches. After application Suspend SC the population drastically declined and those which were seen usuallyhad "feet up in the air" dying. She is satisfied that the Suspend SC will solve the problem and is safe and easy to use.

April 23, 2010 R asked:
QWhat is the shelf life of Suspend SC and Demand CS?
I see no expiration date on my bottles of Talstar, Suspend SC and Demand CS. What is the shelf life on these products?
ATalstar P, Suspend SC and Demand CS have a shelf life of about 3-5 years from the date of purchase. They should be stored in a place where they are protected from over heating, freezing and direct sunlight to ensure the longest shelf life possible.
August 9, 2010 Doug asked:
QHow much Suspend SC do I mix in a 2 gallon sprayer for exterior residential application?
AYou should use 1 ounce of Suspend SC for each gallon of water for general pest control outdoors.
October 23, 2009 Crystal asked:
QI have small children and want to use Suspend SC for spider control in my home. Is it safe?
AYes, Suspend SC and all of our products are safe as long as you follow the instructions on the product label. When mixed with water, these products are only strong enough to kill small insects. You should keep all children and pets out of the room while you are treating. Use common sense when applying, you obviously do not want to spray on any toys or around pets food and water bowls. Wait 30 minutes for product to dry, then it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the room.
May 24, 2010 Dan asked:
QHow long can Suspend SC be stored for after mixing?
After mixing Suspend SC, can the unused portion in the sprayer be stored for a period of time?
AMost sprayer manufacturers warn against storing insecticides inside the sprayer. Storing liquids (even plain water) inside the sprayer can cause the rubber components to deteriorate quickly and make the sprayer inoperable. Only mix exactly what you can use and discard any left over solution and thoroughly rinse the sprayer after each use.
January 24, 2010 Maureen asked:
QCan I spray Suspend SC on anything inside the house?
I'm trying to get rid of what I am assuming to be bed bugs, but may be some other type of small insect that is biting at night. I am assuming and hoping that this product can get rid of whatever it is. Can I spray Suspend SC on anything inside the house? Where and on what can I spray this product?
ASuspend SC can applied to mattresses, especially tufts, folds, and edges until moist. You should also apply to the interior of the frame. Allow to dry before remaking bed. Also, you would want to treat around the perimeter of the room, baseboards, feet of the bed, etc. You may want to try one of our Bed Bug Kits which have a variety of products which are proven to treat bed bugs.

Gerard from Cape Coral Fl asked:
QCan the Suspend Sc be used in the 2 gal spray mixture with the nyguard igr?
We have many pests running around on our lawn turf with 4 dogs that is bound to happen. I am now taking the oppurtunity to pick up feces, our critters consist of many kind of roaches beetles and whatever else is attracted to the poops. So I am hoping that this will knock them out completely, so will it even be necessary to include the igr for additional killing power? Thank You In Advance!
A Yes, the Suspend SC will do a great job of controling roaches, beetles as well as most any other lawn pest. Depending on the amount of insects present in your area will play a part in how long it will take for the population to dwindle until its gone. Spraying once every 30 days or so in the beginning will help control the population well and then you may be able to back off to spraying only once ever 60 days or so. You can mix the IGR into the mixture with the Suspend for added control to stop the insects reproductive cycle. As long as you keep pets and children out of the area while you are doing the treatment and until the areas have completely dried (30 min-2 hours) it is completely safe.

Mary from Belle Mead Nj 08502 asked:
QI have varied carpet beetles that emerged 3 mos. after suspend and gentrol . Should I now use pheremone traps
I have been spraying outside perimeter with home defense and placed boric acid tablets in basement and attic.
A It sounds like the beetles were either re-introduced to the home or there was some larvae that are just now emerging. You can likely do another spray with the Suspend and Gentrol and get control over what is left. While you could try the beetle pheromone traps the vacuuming, cleaning and spraying of the residual insecticides will be the most effect. For further tips on carpet beetle control you can refer to our articles "Varied Carpet Beetle Identification and Biology" and "How To Get Rid of Carpet Beetles".

Adrian from Greenville, Sc asked:
QSome concerns from a parent and pet owner.
My wife and I live in a small 3 bedroom house and have been having some problems with carpet beetles. We did a good vacuuming last fall and had no additional problems through the winter. Now this past week in March as the weather is starting to warm, I've been noticing adult beetles crawling around, more so in the kitchen area. We do not know how where they are getting in. They like to hang out around the stove and refrigerator (where we did a very thorough cleaning last fall because of them). We also noticed some larvae behind our couch because it's up against a wall and also under our bed around the baseboards. I have two questions: 1. Can this be applied to crevices where the baseboard meets the carpet? I was not sure if this would be OK or not since carpet is porous. I would only be treating the crevices, not the entire carpet area of course. Is this an acceptable application of the product? Or would I need something specifically for porous services? 2. I want to try doing the pest control on my own, but my main concern is obviously the safety of my child and pets. I know that this is safe for pets and kids after things have dried, but our child is 16 months old and into everything. I obviously would allow time for the product to completely dry. But say my kid decides for some reason he wan't to lick the carpet in the area that was treated and dried, (even though we try to keep an eye on him at all times), would there be a danger if something like that were to happen? Same question if a pet licked a dry treated area. These are my two main concerns about doing the treatment myself. Your answers are truly appreciated.
A Yes, it seems that you are taking all the correct steps to treat for carpet beetles. Please review our Carpet Beetle control page. Along with persistant vacuuming, application of Suspend, we recommend to also use Gentrol IGR. Gentrol will further break down the reproduction cycle. Rest assured that after dilution, there is only a large enough active ingredient to kill small insects. Treated areas are safe for children and pets to be around after haing dried. This will take 1-2 hours. Please call us at 866-581-7378 so that we can better assist you with your treatment.

Richard from Port St Joe, Florida, Also Morganton, Nc asked:
QDo you recommend Demon, Suspend SC or some other?
A local professional company uses Demon. I assume that is Demon WP Insecticide. After reading your info and watching your video what do you recommend for general home use?
A Suspend SC and Demon WP are both synthetic pyrethroid products and both offer great control of general pests. Demon WP will last a bit longer outdoors and since it is a wettable powder it also stays on the surface of porous areas such as concrete or wood which creates a greater opportunity for insects to come into contact with it. The downside to this is that Demon WP will leave behind a white powdery residue that is especially noticeable on dark surfaces. Both Demon WP and Suspend SC can be used indoors for pest control but because of the white powdery residue that Demon WP can leave behind it may be best to stick with Suspend SC for this use

Ricky from Chambersburg, Pa. asked:
QCan you spray Suspend SC on electrical circuits?
Spraying Suspend or any liquid in electrical wiring of any sort is not recommended. This would be an extreme shock hazard and damage your equipment and wiring. We recommend applying dust in those areas. Depending on what you are treating for you could use a dust like Delta Dust.

K. from Az asked:
QCan I use Suspend SC for food storage areas? The food will be in boxes and containers. A home pantry area.
Suspend SC can be applied as a crack and crevice application in a food handling area. All food must be packaged/covered or removed during treatment. If you are treating for a pantry pest, we recommend that locate all the infested items and get rid of them. Insecticides only will only kill the adults that are running around but usually the damaging larva remain in the food containers and are protected from insecticides.

Ekaterina from Nyc asked:
QFor how long is Suspend SC potent?
The apartment where we moved in has been exterminated 1 year ago. We just found out about it and we have a 10 month old baby, who crawls all around, so we are worried if there is a chance of her getting harmed. I have washed all the walls and floors in the apartment, but there is still some odor around some cracks and the apartment also has the same odor, which I feel when I enter from the outside. I am also worried that when I washed the walls, water got in the cracks and made Suspend SC more potent.
A Suspend SC does not a have a year long residual. If the treated areas were washed, it does not create the product to reactivate. Suspend SC is safe if applied and dried prior to children and pets entering the areas that you have recently treated. Please refer to the product label and MSDS for additional information.
