How to Use Suspend SC
How Suspend SC Works
SUSPEND® SC Insecticide with DeltaGard offers the benefits of deltamethrin in a concentrated suspension of pure micro-crystals. The micro-crystals give Suspend SC a long residual (up to 3 months), and instead of being absorbed into porous materials, they stay on the surface. As a result, insects continue to contact them long after the insecticide has been applied. Yet Suspend SC leaves no visible residue, has virtually no odor, and won't clog spray equipment.
Suspend SC is a residual concentrate in the synthetic pyrethroid family of insecticides. The active ingredient Deltamethrin kills by acting as a high-power poison to the insect's central nervous system. Once poisoned, the insect’s nerve cells become excited, causing paralysis and eventual death. Suspend SC is diluted with water and applied with a sprayer. Once the product has dried, pests easily pick up the millions of microscopic particles left behind, and the active ingredient kills by contact and ingestion. Though Suspend SC is deadly to insects, it is very gentle on people and pets, when used properly, and is labeled for outdoor and indoor crack and crevice use.
The formulation of Suspend SC is a Suspended Concentrate, meaning finely ground particles of the active ingredient are suspended in water. Suspend SC has no additional solvents, but it does contain surfactants to help suspend the solid particles and biocides to prevent microbial growth and extend the shelf life.

Suspend SC Application Instructions
*Suspend SC is a liquid insecticide concentrate which must be diluted with water and applied with a sprayer.
*It is best to shake your Suspend SC container a few times before dispensing, in case of any settling of solids.
* Treatments may be applied at 21-day intervals, or as necessary, to maintain adequate control.
* Treat specific areas that insects inhabit or where they are frequently found.
* Use 0.25 to 1.5 fluid ounces of SUSPEND® SC in one gallon of water and apply to adequately cover 1,000 sq. ft. Under conditions of severe pest infestations, when quick knockdown and/or longer residual control is desired, use 1 gallon of 0.06% per 1,000 sq. ft.
* When diluting, it is recommended to add approximately half the water to the spray tank, then add the proper amount of Suspend SC in accordance with the rates in the appropriate proportion. Agitate, then add the remaining water slowly to avoid excess foam. Thoroughly agitate the sprayer before using to insure proper suspension.
* If spraying is interrupted when using a backpack or handheld spray equipment, reinvert sprayer before use.
***ALWAYS READ THE PRODUCT LABEL COMPLETELY BEFORE USE***
1 Pint (16 oz.) of Suspend SC concentrate yields 10-64 gallons of finished solution, depending on mixing rate used. 1 Gallon (128 oz) of concentrate yields 85 to over 500 gallons of finished solution. One gallon of finished solution should cover approximately 1,000 square feet.
Standard Application Dilution rates / Mixing Ratios for Suspend SC:
*0.25-0.75 fl. oz. (7.5-22.7mL)/gal. of water – 0.01%-0.03% - maintenance or preventative treatments; smaller pests such as ants, fleas, pantry pests, and silverfish
*0.75-1.5 fl. oz. (22.7-45.4mL)/gal. of water – 0.03%-0.06% - cleanout treatments, heavier infestations, longer residual control; tougher pests such as cockroaches, spiders, bed bugs, and mosquitoes
*1.5 fl. oz. (45.4mL)/gal. of water – 0.06% - Termites (localized control only)
*0.75 fl. oz. (22.7mL)/gal. of water – 0.03% - Carpenter ants
Suspend SC is for use in the following areas:
Residential, industrial, and institutional control in and around households and other structures; commercial and residential turf and landscape ornamental plants; non-food and non-feed areas of Aircraft (cargo only), Apartment buildings, Bakeries, Bottling facilities, Breweries, Buses, Cafeterias, Candy plants, Canneries, Dairy product processing plants, Food manufacturing plants, Food processing plants, Food service establishments, Granaries & grain mills, Hospitals, Hotels, Houses, Industrial buildings, Installations, Kitchens, Laboratories, Mausoleums, Meat, poultry & egg processing & packaging plants, Mobile & motor homes, Nursing homes, Offices, Railcars, Restaurants, Schools, Ships & vessels, Trailers, Trucks, Warehouses, Wineries; carports, garages, storage sheds, unoccupied horse stables and pet kennels; athletic fields, recreational areas, residential landscapes, parks
Suspend SC may be applied as a crack and crevice or spot treatment in residential buildings and structures. Use 0.25-0.75 fl. oz./gal. of water for most treatments. Treat where pests are found or normally occur, such as around floors, baseboards, expansion joints, around water and sewer pipes, and voids formed by equipment or appliances. For spot applications, use a low pressure system with a fan-type nozzle to apply spot treatments. Do not treat entire floor, carpet or floor covering. Do not apply as a space spray. Application to furniture should be restricted to areas where prolonged contact by humans will not occur.
Suspend SC Insecticide can be converted to a foam and the foam used to treat structural voids to control insect and arthropod pests in walls, under slabs or in other void areas.
Bed bugs – Remove linens and wash before reuse. Apply to mattresses as a spot treatment, especially tufts, folds, and edges until moist. Apply to the interior of the frame. Allow to dry before remaking bed. We do not recommend Suspend SC as the sole treatment for bed bugs - instead it is recommended to use a variety of bed bug control products. There is also a high risk of resistance when using Suspend SC for bedbug treatment. See Get Rid of Bed Bugs for complete treatment recommendations.
Carpet Beetles, Fleas and Ticks – A total integrated pest management program is recommended. It is suggested that infested areas be thoroughly vacuumed prior to treatment. These areas include all carpet, upholstered furniture, baseboards and other indoor areas frequented by pets. The vacuum cleaner bag should be discarded in an outdoor trash container upon completion. Pet bedding should be cleaned or replaced. Apply Suspend SC Insecticide as a uniform coarse low-pressure spot or crack and crevice treatment to areas where these pests normally inhabit. Care should be taken to limit spot treatments to pet bedding and its surrounding area, infested floor coverings and pest habitats. Do not treat entire area of floor, carpet or floor coverings. Do not apply as a space spray. Restrict applications to furniture where no prolonged contact by humans will occur. Do not allow people or pets to contact treated areas until spray has dried. This product can be used with an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR). Effective flea control includes controlling the source of flea infestations. This can require treatment of pets with a product registered by EPA for such use and treating outside areas frequented by pets. Suspend SC Insecticide can also be applied out-of-doors for flea control. Do NOT treat pets with this product.
Use Suspend SC Insecticide to control outdoor pests by application as either a perimeter treatment, residual spray or broadcast application to lawns, grounds, and ornamental plantings.
For residual control, apply Suspend SC as a coarse low-pressure spray at the rate of 0.75 to 1.5 fl. oz./gal. of water to surfaces of buildings, porches, screens, window frames, eaves, patios, refuse dumps, garages, and lawns.
*1 Gallon of finished solution will generally cover 1,000 square feet when using a hand pump sprayer for spot or perimeter treatments.
Fire ants - Apply Suspend SC Insecticide as a drench. Dilute 1.5 fl oz per one gallon of water. Gently sprinkle 1 to 2 gallons of the diluted insecticide over the surface of each mound and surrounding area to a 2-foot diameter. For best results, apply in cool weather, 65 to 80°F or in early morning or late evening hours. Treat new mounds as they appear. Pressurized sprays may disturb the ants and cause migration, reducing product effectiveness.
Turfgrass applications – Uniform coverage is essential. Apply Suspend SC as a broadcast application using a conventional hydraulic boom-type sprayer or similar suitable equipment using a minimum of 2 gallons of water per 1000 square feet and 0.4 to 0.9 fl. oz./1000 sq. ft. (17.5 to 39 oz. per Acre). Delay irrigation or mowing for 24 hours after application for surface feeders such as cutworms and webworms. For sub-surface feeders such as mole crickets, irrigate with 0.25 to 0.5 inch of water immediately after application.
Ornamantel pests – Apply 4 to 8 fl. oz. per 100 gallons of water. Apply when pests become evident. Thorough coverage is required for best results. Apply with sufficient water to ensure coverage of upper and lower leaf surfaces.
See complete product label for additional instructions on outdoor applications.

Suspends the bugs
By Retired on October 27, 2008
Yes, that is right, Suspend SC suspends the bugs. It is so easy to apply and has no smell to it. I am glad to have found this website so I could do my own exterminating. If you can wash your hands or make a sandwich you can apply these chemicals. Make sure you buy a good pump sprayer at least as good as the one on this website for around $49. The first application will pay for itself. No more expensive visits from these so called professionals. Take it from me, retired early, I did not retire early by spending all my money. Good luck.

Before spraying with Suspend SC, both my home and the homes around me were infested badly with roaches, spiders, ants and centipedes. After spraying the perimeter of my home and the inside with Suspend SC, I was sweeping up roaches, centipedes and spiders by the hundreds for about three days. then I would find roaches and centipedes that had tried to cross the boundaries I had treated. They would die within about six feet of crossing it. I would recommend it for the novice or for the professional over all other products. I would recommend all the products from this company as excellent.

This product works!
By AJ on October 9, 2008
We live in a valley that is also backed by woods. I just ordered Suspend SC this year to use for asian beetles. Every year since we moved into our older house they would come about this time (the first couple weeks of october) and they literally cover the outside of our home. They get into everything, our laundry, light fixtures, food, etc. They stink and stain everything. The only way we could do anything was by vacuuming them. But I told my husband I wasn't ruining another $500 vacuum because of this problem anymore. I did some research and found this site (sooo glad) because a few days ago we sprayed the entire outside of the house, especially the windows. As I sit here right now typing, there are no lady bugs entering my house! Last year at this time I would already have my vacuum out. I went outside and looked on the house and there are hardly any landing on the spray, and those that do seem to be dying quickly. I cannot thank this site enough. I am deadly afraid of spiders and get them bad in my basement as well, but after reading other reviews I guess I won't be worry about those either!

I bought a place in the woods and the spiders were very bad in my basement. My wife said I needed to do something or the washing was not going to get done (washer and dryer in basement). So I tried Suspend SC and the results are outstanding. It's like a bad massacre. The bugs don't have a chance. Suspend is the best at a good price.
Tried and true

As a 15 year veteran in the past control field I have used this product for number of years. It will do what it is labeled for. It is good for general pest control and I have used it to get rid of German roach infestations. That is why I chose now to do my on home pest control.

By Darren on November 18, 2014
Trying this for roaches in Florida. Used recommended mixture with no luck. So I double the strength and actually sprayed it on a roach. It didn't phase it, the roach eventually died. I'm going to triple the dose and try it again. I don't have many but don't want it get away from me. For now I give it a one star!

Deadly to all insects, harmless to people & pets.
By Franco on November 14, 2014
After a recommendation from a friend, I used this product with outstanding results. My friend knows how much I hate spiders,, ALL spiders. I lost several weeks of work as a meat cutter because of a staff infection contracted from a spider bite back in the late 90's. Hence the fanatical hatred for all spiders. It's not the ones I see that worry me,, it's the ones too small to see that cause the most grief. Once, while sitting under my carport working on my laptop, I look to my right and see that a small spider had lowered itself from the ceiling to within less than 6'' from my head. It stopped even with my face as if to offer a critique of my writing. Who the hell am I,, ''Little Miss Mufett''? I think not. This was after I had rid my entire home/yard of all insects several months before. The attic above my carport has no insulation, and apparently, a reserve force of Commando Spiders had retreated & regrouped in this area. No problem, I mixed a batch of the ''Nuclear Option'' for insects. Suspend SC. I entered the attic the next morning, the need for treatment was obvious. I set sprayer wand for wide dispersal, added some pressure to the sprayer and never moving from the top of the ladder, covered the entire area over my carport. This is a separate attic from the main one over my house. After the spraying, end of problem. A year after using Suspend for the first time, I gave my wife a puppy for Christmas. A black Scottish Terrier. Shamus is almost 5 now, and he's gotten into some fleas, probably from a new neighbor who moved in 3 months ago with a big black Lab. I sprayed a strong batch on our mutual fence line & offered to spray her house. Her house stayed vacant for over a year while on the market, so I used this fact as a deception for the offer. I did not want to offend my new neighbor, a young, single mother. After looking up this product's safety record and customer reviews on line, she happily agreed. I don't want there to be any chance of cross contamination between our yards. Better to kill them over there than over here. I will update this review in a few weeks as to the final results, but I expect them to be the same as before. OUTSTANDING!! Plus, it doesn't get any easier than this. The makers of this product have my eternal gratitude.
Asain lady bettles

August 9, 2010 Doug asked:
QHow much Suspend SC do I mix in a 2 gallon sprayer for exterior residential application?
AYou should use 1 ounce of Suspend SC for each gallon of water for general pest control outdoors.
April 23, 2010 R asked:
QWhat is the shelf life of Suspend SC and Demand CS?
I see no expiration date on my bottles of Talstar, Suspend SC and Demand CS. What is the shelf life on these products?
ATalstar P, Suspend SC and Demand CS have a shelf life of about 3-5 years from the date of purchase. They should be stored in a place where they are protected from over heating, freezing and direct sunlight to ensure the longest shelf life possible.
October 23, 2009 Crystal asked:
QI have small children and want to use Suspend SC for spider control in my home. Is it safe?
AYes, Suspend SC and all of our products are safe as long as you follow the instructions on the product label. When mixed with water, these products are only strong enough to kill small insects. You should keep all children and pets out of the room while you are treating. Use common sense when applying, you obviously do not want to spray on any toys or around pets food and water bowls. Wait 30 minutes for product to dry, then it is perfectly safe for children and pets to re-enter the room.
May 24, 2010 Dan asked:
QHow long can Suspend SC be stored for after mixing?
After mixing Suspend SC, can the unused portion in the sprayer be stored for a period of time?
AMost sprayer manufacturers warn against storing insecticides inside the sprayer. Storing liquids (even plain water) inside the sprayer can cause the rubber components to deteriorate quickly and make the sprayer inoperable. Only mix exactly what you can use and discard any left over solution and thoroughly rinse the sprayer after each use.
January 24, 2010 Maureen asked:
QCan I spray Suspend SC on anything inside the house?
I'm trying to get rid of what I am assuming to be bed bugs, but may be some other type of small insect that is biting at night. I am assuming and hoping that this product can get rid of whatever it is. Can I spray Suspend SC on anything inside the house? Where and on what can I spray this product?
ASuspend SC can applied to mattresses, especially tufts, folds, and edges until moist. You should also apply to the interior of the frame. Allow to dry before remaking bed. Also, you would want to treat around the perimeter of the room, baseboards, feet of the bed, etc. You may want to try one of our Bed Bug Kits which have a variety of products which are proven to treat bed bugs.

Chloe from Virginia asked:
QAfter the application of Suspend, if I vacuum that area, will the product still be effective?
Will the product remain on the carpet after vacuuming?
Suspend SC is really labeled to be applied to cracks and crevices not as a broadcast over carpet. If you were to vacuum a treated area after it has dried it would not take the product up.

Mike from Brandon, Fl asked:
QCan Suspend SC liquid be applied to Harwood floors?
I have engineered hardwood floors and my installer and the manufacturer's warranty state that the floors are to remain dry and to immediately wipe up any spills. Is there a way to apply Suspend SC to hardwood floors to treat for everyday pest control?
Suspend SC cannot be applied to hardwood floors. It is meant to be applied to cracks and crevices only. Normally, for general pest control we recommend to stick to cracks, crevices and entry points.

Christa from Pa asked:
I want something to spray on the my carpets and couch. It says you can but then discourages putting on the couches. I have a 5 year old and a three year old so it concerns me chemicals but something has to be done. Please help. What is the best Suspend SC or would Demize ER work better?
Suspend SC is a good option for fleas. You would need to mix an IGR (insect growth regulator) with it to make sure the fleas do not reproduce. We would recommend the same with Demize EC. These products should be added to water and directly applied with a gallon sprayer to problem areas such as rugs, carpets, furniture, pet bedding, baseboards, and cracks and crevices We would recommend using Ultracide. It contains an insecticide, as well as an IGR (insect growth regulator). This will stop the fleas from reproducing. It is safe to spray on your furniture. This will kill the flea larvae and eggs as well as the adult fleas. You will do your first treatment and then vacuum daily for 14 days and do a second treatment. Sometimes a third and/or fouth treatment is necessary. We would not recommend spraying when the children are in the room. Once the products have had time to dry, 2-4 hours, they can return to the room(s) that have been treated.

Don from Poinciana, Florida asked:
QIs it acceptable to spray under the oven and frig. w/o moving them to access the cracks and crevices?
A If you are unable to access the cracks and crevices behind appliances, using the wand on your hand pump sprayer, reach as far under the appliance as you can to apply the solution to the cracks and crevices and in between the appliances.

John from United States asked:
QI need an effective inside spider eliminator that is safe to use around children.
A We would recommend using Suspend SC. It is a very good residual product that can be sprayed indoors and outdoors. Indoors, you will spray along the baseboards and cracks and crevices. Outdoors, you can spray around the perimeter of your home and in places where the spiders would reside. Once the product is dry, it is safe for your children to return to the room. It also dries clear.

Beverly from Bonners Ferry, Idaho asked:
QHow can we stop Daddy Long Legs insects from coming into our house? 16 so far. We have children & pets
We would recommend using Cyper WP. This can be sprayed around the baseboards and cracks and crevices indoors. Outdoors, you will spray around the perimeter of your home. You will use two scoops per gallon of water. This is residual product and will work for up to 3 months indoors and 30 days outdoors. It can leave a powdery residue because it is a wettable powder. Once Cyper WP is dry, it is safe for pets and children to come into the rooms that were sprayed. If you are wanting something that will dry clear, we would recommend using Suspend SC. You will use this around the cracks and crevices indoors and around the perimeter outdoors. You will use 0.75-1.5 fl. oz. per gallon of water. Once Suspend SC is dry, it is safe for children and pets to return to the area. Both of these products will kill and keep killing the spiders.

Kristy from Tampa, Fl asked:
QIs Suspend SC safe for a home with infant and pets?
An exterminator is going to use this product in my home, and I am concerned about safety for my 5 month old son, dog and two cats.
A Yes, Suspend SC is safe once it is dry for children and pets. We would not recommend spraying when they are in the room. Once the product dries, it is safe for the children and pets to return to the room. It is colorless and virtually odorless so it will not be detable by them. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

Cory from Irmo, Sc asked:
QI purchased Talstar P and absolutely love it. Should I purchase another product and alternate?
I was wondering if the insects would develop an immunity over time to the Talstar P. If so what product should I buy to use every other time, altering with Talstar P?
We appreciate your business! It is possible that certain strains of bugs could build up a resistance to certain products. Alternating products would be a good idea. We would recommend using Suspend SC. It works the same way as Talstar P, but it has a different active ingredient. It can be used indoors and outdoors. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

QSuspend SC or Cyzmic CS
Hi, I had this pest control company and they were using Suspend SC and Cyzmic CS around the house. Not sure about the difference between the two but I want to do it myself now. Do I need to buy and use both at the same time or will one product will get the job done? Thanks
A Both Suspend SC and Cyzmic CS are great general purpose pest control products and treat many of the same types of insects. Depending on the particular type of insect(s), one might be betther than the other. We recommend hat you make sure that the pest(s) you are treating for are on the product label and mix accordingly as instructed. Typically, you are able to get the same results with either the Suspend SC or Cyzmic CS. There would not be a reason to use both. Pleae let us know if you have any further questions.
