  • Asked by Peggie from Menifee, Ca
    04/29/2017
    Q
Is Suspend SC best for ants around a nectarine tree?
    A

Suspend SC is labeled for ants but should not be applied to fruit trees including necatrine trees. We would suggest Advance 375A Granular Bait to apply around the base of the tree.  The ants will take this product back to the nest where it can be fed to the queen and eliminate the colony.

  • Asked by Ricky
    06/02/2017
    Q
    Does Suspend kill butterflies?
    A

Butterflies are insects and will be affected by an insecticide like Suspend and any other product the same way the target pests like ants and spiders would be. The best way to reduce the chance of the Suspend affecting the butterflies and beneficial insects is to spray later in the day when they are not active and are back in their homes/nests, and try to avoid blooms of flowers and plants they would be using for pollenation. Most structural insects you would be targeting are not going to be landing in the same places they would be so it helps keep you from doing as much damage.

  • Asked by Dorothy from Wyandotte, Mi
    09/15/2017
    Q
Is Suspend SC the best concentrate to use for insect lawn care?
I hired TruGreen and my lawn looks horrible now. I just really need help...Grubs, ants and spiders etc...
    A

Suspend SC would be a great product for you to use for the spiders and the ants on your property. It can be used in your yard, around the perimeter of your home and also inside your home when needed and it is safe for use around pets. Since grubs live underground they must be treated with a product that will target them where they live. We do have several products that are specifically labeled for grub worms on our website: Grub Worm Control. We also recommend that you contact your local cooperative extension office and inquire about the best time to start treatments for grubs in your region.

Can Suspend SC be used in RV or Travel Trailer?
    A

Suspend SC is not labeled for use in vehicles or other modes of transport. You could use Tempo SC Ultra for a concentrate or Temprid Ready Spray for a ready-to-use product for a wide variety of pests as crack and crevice treatment in an RV or trailor.

    Q
After treating countertops with Suspend SC and waiting for surface to dry?
How are you to clean the counters before using?
    A

Suspend SC should never be applied to counter tops.  It is only applied to cracks and crevices down low around the home.  If you have applied to the countertop you would need to wash with soap and water to remove the product.  It may take a few times to completely remove it.

  • Asked by Anna
    04/01/2018
    Q
Can I spray Suspend SC on carpet?
I want to use it to get rid of carpet beetles.
    A

Suspend SC should not be applied to the carpet only interior cracks and crevices quarterly. NyGuard Plus can be applied to carpet inside the structure. Suspend SC is labeled for carpet beetle control and it will eliminate carpet beetles that come into contact with treated areas. It is very important that the source of the infestation (where the damaging larva is harboring) is discovered and eliminated, not just the visible adult insects you see wandering around. Until you find out what that is and deal with it you will continue to get more of the carpet beetles emerging from hiding. Carpet beetles may be as likely to feed on grain based food materials as they are on animal byproducts. Pet foods stored in forgotten places, baking goods left too long in the cupboard, rodent baits tossed in the attic - all of these are quite susceptible to carpet beetle feeding. Plus, you also have the typical carpet beetle diets of dead insects (wasp nests in the attic, dead insects in window sills), feathers (bird nests, dead birds), hair (dead rodents, wool products, trophy mounts), and other things made from animal byproducts. Once the source of the infestation is removed or cleaned, using Suspend SC will help get rid of the annoying adult beetles. You can spray once a month on the exterior (as weather permits) until all of the beetles are gone.

  • Asked by Keith from Goffstown, Nh
    04/11/2018
    Q
Why can't you let Suspend SC drip or have run off?
    A

If you are applying an insecticide such as Suspend SC to the point of dripping or runoff, then you are likely using too much product. This could cause you to go over the labeled rates for legal and safe application. If you are treating on ornamental plants, then you want to get thorough coverage without runoff; runoff would mean that the product is falling off the leaf surface rather than staying on it and drying there to protect from your target insects.

  • Asked by Mark from Richmond, Mo
    05/25/2018
    Q
Will Suspend SC kill snow fleas?
    A

Yes, Suspend SC can be used for snow fleas.  What is commonly referred to as the "snow flea" is actually a springtail and not a flea, but this particular species has a special protein which allows them to survive in very cold temperatures. Since these insects feed on decaying plant matter, it is important to locate and eliminate the conditions which favor their presence, such as cleaning up decaying plant matter near the home, fixing leaking pipes or sprinklers, and practicing good general lawn sanitation. Please take a few moments to review our article How to Get Rid of Springtails for more tips on eradicating this pest.

  • Asked by Wayne from New Jersey
    05/31/2018
    Q
Can you mix Suspend with any other insecticide?
    A

There is no valid reason to mix Suspend SC with another insecticide. Making a pesticide too strong can actually backfire. Areas that are treated with this overly concentrated spray will be repellent and insects will simply avoid the treated areas, prolonging the infestation.

  • Asked by Joe from Tulsa, Ok
    06/15/2018
    Q
Is Suspend SC effective in direct sunlight when mixed per label?
    A

Suspend SC is effective in direct sunlight, but if you do plan to treat in areas with direct sunlight, we would recommend Suspend Polyzone instead, as it has a special polymer coating which enables it to last longer under those direct UV rays.  Suspend Polyzone will last up to 90 days outdoors, whereas Suspend SC will only last for about 30.

  • Asked by Matt from Md
    06/22/2018
    Q
I'd like to spray the yard with Suspend at the same time as the weed control. Is it safe to mix this with Trimec or Drive?
    A

When looking to tank mix products like an insecticide and herbicide together, you want to follow the most restrictive labeling of the two and be sure that anywhere you may be looking to get insect control is not close to any desirable vegetation like bushes when its mixed with your weed control product. For lawn pests like ants, millipedes, and fleas it would be safe to mix the two so long as you keep the herbicide away from any plants it could harm around the lawn if drift were to occur. In those areas we would recommend only using the Suspend by itself.

    07/29/2018
    Q
How do you clean a sprayer after making an application of Suspend SC?
such as Neem or Miracle grow?
    A

It is best to triple rinse any equipment used to make an application of an insecticide such as Suspend SC? prior to using the sprayer for any other chemical application.  Simply use warm water to rinse out the tank and spray through the wand.  Repeat this 3 times prior to adding new chemical to the sprayer.  You could also use a tank cleaner such as Monterey Spray Tank Cleaner

  • Asked by Joe from Churchville, N.y.
    01/30/2019
    Q
Can Suspend be used to treat for hive beetles?
    A

No, it is not recommended to use Suspend SC since it would damage the hive also.  I would check with your local beekeepers for treatment advice on hive beetles since a lot of products have known resistance in certain areas.
