    Q
Can Suspend be used to treat for hive beetles?
    A

No, it is not recommended to use Suspend SC since it would damage the hive also.  I would check with your local beekeepers for treatment advice on hive beetles since a lot of products have known resistance in certain areas.

    Q
Will Suspend SC control bermuda mites?
The active ingredient for DeltaGard Granules, deltamethrin, says that it will control bermuda mites. The label for Suspend doesn't say this but it has the same active ingredient. Can I do a broadcast treatment of my turf with Suspend SC and control bermuda mites?
    A

While its possible the Suspend or other similar active ingredient products could potentially control bermudagrass mites, the only product specifically listed for their control that we are aware of is the Triple Crown Insecticide

  • Asked by Dale from Charleston Sc
    05/16/2021
    Q
How do I measure the liquid in the Suspend SC container to get the correct amount? I can't seem to get the small spout measuring side to fill up.
    A

We are sorry to hear that you are having trouble measuring Suspend SC into the measuring side. The product can be measured by squeezing the bottle and allowing it to go up the straw on the side of the bottle to fill the measuring side. Once measured to the amount you want (1.5-2oz) you fill it into your gallon sprayer and spray. Please make sure to agitate the mixture first before applying.

  • Asked by John from Pittsburgh Pa.
    04/12/2021
    Q
Can Suspend SC be mixed at 2 fl oz per gallon of water without losing it's efficacy?
    A

Unfortunately, per the product label the maximum mix rate of Suspend SC is 1.5 fl oz per gallon of water depending on the insects you are targeting. We cannot advise mixing insecticides at a higher rate than the product label by the manufacturer due to a few reasons.

The product labels for insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, etc have been reviewed and approved by the EPA and, therefore, provides the legally amount allowed to be applied per application or per year for that pesticide or herbicide. The Label is the Law.

Second, the manufacturers and reseach teams spend months/years and money into into developing and testing products before product labels are issued, approved and available for retail. The application rates listed on the product labels have been proven scientifically to be effective for treating the pests/weeds/diseases on that label therefore mixing at a higher rate than what is recommended is not going to necessarily going to be better or give faster results. In fact, using too much product can cause undesired effects like insect repellency, unnecessary risk to people and non-target animals, and simply wasting your time and money.

    Q
My mom has copd and on oxygen 24/7. Exterminator says if she leaves for a day Suspend SC is then harmless. True?
My mom is very frail... breathing problems and on oxygen 24/7.. also has two cats...Exterminator says the chemical is harmless the following day... I need to know for sure if this is correct before putting her in any risk. Thanks
    A

That information is not available on the Suspend SC safety data sheet unfortunately, and it's not something provided to us by the manufacturer. For that information, you will need to contact Bayer directly, the phone number for their product information is: 1-800-331-2867.  It is also recommended to speak with her doctor before applying any product as we cannot be certain of how everyone would respond to products.

  • Asked by Sharon from Missouri City Tx
    11/15/2020
    Q
Need instant gnat killer and something to spray safely in kitchen, would Suspend work?
    A

If you are looking for a product as a contact kill spray that is safe for crevices and open air spaces of the home you can use a product like Microcare Aerosol. For a residual product to use along crevices, windows, and baseboards you could apply a product like Gentrol Complete which will last for at least several weeks on the surface continuing to kill anything that crawls over or lands on the treated surfaces. You will want to determine what species of gnat you have in the home so you can locate and eliminate the breeding site and source of it in your home.

    Q
Can Suspend SC be applied unfinished basement ceiling where you see all the wood beams?
Can Suspend SC be applied unfinished basement ceiling where you see all the wood beams? If not, what product can I use for to prevent pests as well as for the termites.
    A
Suspend SC may be applied indoors to baseboards, cracks, and crevices for general pest control. For wood-destroying insects such as termites, carpenter ants, powder post beetles, etc, we would recommend using Bora-Care on your untreated, raw wood. Bora-Care will penetrate up to 4 inches into the wood and last the lifetime of the wood. Please be sure to review the product label for complete application instructions.
