    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra hurt hummingbirds, chimney swifts, other wild birds, tree frogs, toads and other wildlife?
We are going to spray indoors and outdoors for roaches and spiders. We have chimney swifts that nest in our non functional chimney. I also feed about 20 hummingbirds. Birds eat alot of insects and I don't want to poison any of them but want to get rid of our roaches and spiders.
    A
Tempo SC Ultra should not harm birds, wildlife or beneficial creatures when used as directed on the product label.  It is best to apply when they are not in the area and hope they do not return until dry.  Once the product has dried, it only has a toxicity level of that to kill something as small as an insect.

    Q
what is the difference between bifenthrin and tempo sc
    A
Tempo SC is a suspension concentrate that delivers the power of a powder formulation in a liquid. It's easy to use too-less messy to handle, needs less agitation and is more evenly dispersed during application than other products. Tempo SC Ultra has no odor, is non-staining, and has a long lasting residual of up to 3 months. Where as Bifen IT and other Bifenthrin generics control over 75 common insect pests, including termites. Bifen can be used as an indoor and outdoor pest control, turf and ornamental application, and for treating pests in food-handling areas. Both Talstar One and Bifen I/T contain microcrystals that do not break down easily with rain once they bond to surfaces. Both Talstar One and Bifen IT are clear substances that leave no stains on painted surfaces.

    Q
Will it Tempo SC Ultra kill ants?
    A
Yes, Tempo SC Ultra will treat for ants. However, Tempo SC Ultra will only kill the ants that come in contact with the treated area. You want to use something that the foraging ants will pick up and carry back to the colony like Bait. We have put together the Complete Ant kit that attracts both sweet and protein feeding ants.

    Q
Spraying on ground under tomato plant that has tomato on vine with Tempo SC Ultra. Can you eat the tomato?
Do I need to pull up the plant or pick all green tomatoes?
    A
You should not eat any fruit or vegetable that comes into contact with Tempo SC Ultra. We do not recommend treating within such a close proximity to the plants. Applications should be kept far enough away from the plants as to avoid contact with the foliage, and with the root system.

  • Asked by Karen from Delray Beach, florida

    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra work for the elimination of ticks in the yard and in the house?
They seem to be immune to the products.
    A
Yes, Tempo SC Ultra is labeled to kill ticks. It is recommended that you use an IGR (insect growth regulator) as well to stop the ticks from producing. Archer IGR is an excellent IGR that is photostable for up to 14 days so it works in direct sunlight. It will work for up to 7 months. For your first treatment, you will use Tempo SC Ultra and Archer IGR. The next treatment will be 14 days later with the Tempo SC Ultra only. You will do supplemental treatments as needed after the first two treatments.

  • Asked by Bernard from Cleveland, Ohio
    10/10/2015
    Q
How long will Tempo SC Ultra maintain effectiveness after being mixed?
And how do you dispose of leftovers?
    A

You should use any diluted Tempo SC Ultra within 24 hours of mixing. If your spraying is interrupted, then be sure to agitate the tank before finishing your spraying. Solutions left in your sprayer may leave residue that can damage the sprayer or interfere with future applications, and the active ingredient will break down sitting in dilution. You should use up your diluted solution outside and then rinse your tank before allowing it to dry and be stored.

    Q
Will Tempo SC Ultra work for Termites?
Have been searching the questions and haven't found any questions about using Tempo for killing termites. I want to treat the foundation to kill termites showing up in an older house with a crawl space.
    A
We can tell you that for termites we almost always recommend Termidor SC. Termidor has a different active ingredient than Tempo SC Ultra and this active ingredient allows the ants or termites to pick the product up on their bodies and move it back to the nest and spread it to the other insects. Tempo on the other hand will only kill the insects that come into direct contact with treated surfaces. Also Termidor will last about twice as long as Tempo when used as a termite barrier in a trenching treatment. Please let us know if you have more questions about Tempo vs Termidor.

    Q
Tempo SC Ultra was recommended to kill/control stinkbugs. Does it kill stinkbugs?
I live in Virginia. In early September a very, very large number of stinkbugs will collect on our house. I want to kill as many as possible.
    A
Yes, Tempo SC Ultra will work for stinkbugs.  Stinkbugs are not listed on the label of most insecticides yet because they have only started becoming a problem for homeowners and property owners in recent years. Be sure to spray eaves, soffits, window frames, door frames, areas where cables, pipes or wires enter into the structure and any other crack, crevice or gap where insects can harbor. We also recommend starting applications in early August to prevent having the stink bugs move in with you and sealing up as many cracks, crevces and gaps as possible.

    Q
Does Tempo SC Ultra work on spiders?
I live on a lake in N.E. Michigan and I have a terrible spider problem. How does this product do on spiders? How often do you have to repeat the application?
    A

Tempo SC Ultra works well on spiders as do most of our liquid concentrate sprays.  If a spider is present when you spray, it will die very quickly.  This product will leave a 30 - 60 day residual, so you should apply every 30 - 60 day's based on activity that you see.
