Temprid SC (suspension concentrate) insecticide offers a unique dual mode of action by combining two powerful and effective residual insecticides: beta-cyfluthrin and imidacloprid. The result is Temprid, which provides quick knockdown and long residual control of more than 50 pests, including ants, spiders, cockroaches and other key perimeter pests. The dual action works extremely well on pests like ants, making it one of the best ant control products on the market. While Temprid SC is labeled for indoor and outdoor use, we recommend spraying outside and around the foundation of the home -- spray about 3 ft. up the side of the house, and about 3-5 ft. out from the structure from the base of the foundation (spraying directly on the ground) -- this will give you a powerful contiguous barrier against pests.
The popular and powerful Temprid SC is now available in a convenient 8 mL dose for smaller applications or for one-time treatments. No separate measuring device is required, just use one 8mL dose per gallon of water for most applications, or use 2 x 8mL doses per gallon of water for clean-out or heavy infestations.
The 900 mL bottle comes with a tip and measure feature.

How Temprid SC Works
Temprid SC Insecticide is a suspension concentrate formulation of two insecticide active ingredients, imidacloprid and beta-cyfluthrin. These two active ingredients affect targets pests differently, offering complete and unique control for the toughest pests, even when resistance is a concern. Imidacloprid is a patented neonicotinoid manufactured by Bayer Cropscience. Neonicotinoids refer to the class neuro-active insecticides that are modeled after nicotine. Imidacloprid works by disrupting inhibiting stimuli transmission within the nervous system of a given insect when that insect either ingests or absorbs the poison into its body. More specifically, imidacloprid blocks a certain type of neuronal pathways which are much more prevalent in insects than mammals. That is why the chemical is much more toxic to insects than humans or animals. Because of its slower kill time, imidacloprid is used when a transfer effect is desired for treatment of social insects such as ants and cockroaches.
Beta-cyfluthrin is a synthetic pyrethroid that attacks the central nervous system of target pests. Made to mimic the effects on insects of naturally occurring pyrethrum, man-made beta-cyfluthrin has the advantage of remaining effective far longer than pyrethrins. In Temprid SC, beta-cyfluthrin provides a quick knockdown for immediate control, while the imidacloprid provides long-lasting results and far-reaching control through a transfer effect. Temprid SC is a liquid concentrate made to be diluted with water and is best applied with a hand pump sprayer like the Chapin Premier 1 gallon sprayer.
Ants, bed bugs, beetles, crickets, fleas, millipedes, mosquitoes, roaches, silverfish, spiders, ticks, wasps, yellow jackets, stink bugs, kudzu bugs, wood-infesting pests, and many other common pests
INSECTS CONTROLLED: Ants, Bed bugs, Beetles (including Lyctid or powder post, Anobiid or deathwatch, False powderpost, Old house borers, Wharf borers, Ambrosia beetles, Bark beetles), Blue or Green Bottle flies, Boxelder bugs, Carpenter ants, Carpenter bees, Carpet beetles, Centipedes, Clothes moths, Clover mites, Cluster fly, Cockroaches, Crickets, Darkling beetles, Dermestids, Drywood termites, Earwigs, Elm leaf beetles, Fire ants, Firebrats, Fleas, Flesh flies, Flies, Fruit flies, Gnats, Ground beetles, Hide beetles, Hornets, House flies, Leather beetles, Midges, Millipedes, Mosquitoes, Moths, Multicolored Asian lady beetles, Phorid flies, Pill bugs, Sciarid flies (fungus gnats), Scorpions, Silverfish, Sow bugs, Spiders, Springtails, Stable flies, Ticks, Wasps, Yellow jackets
Temprid SC provides quick knockdown and long residual control of more than 50 pests, including ants, spiders, cockroaches and other key perimeter pests.
Temprid SC is also a powerful option for bed bug control in residential and commercial properties, even when resistance is a concern. Temprid SC is also labeled for many challenging ornamental pests and has low phytotoxicity on a variety of ornamental plants.
How to Use Temprid SC (Video):
Temprid SC can be used indoors as a spot treatment or as a void injection by mist, foam, or crack and crevice spray, and outdoors as a perimeter treatment, general surface spray, or foliar application to established landscape ornamentals. Always read the product label completely before use.
Mixing Instructions - Shake concentrate before using. Mix the appropriate amount of Temprid SC Insecticide with water. Add product when filling spray tank with water; shake or agitate mixture. Diluted spray mixture can be stored overnight. Agitate before using.
* Re-apply every 7 to 10 days, if needed.
Each 400mL bottle yields 25 to 50 gallons of finished solution using standard application dilution rates. Each 900mL bottles yields 56 to 112 gallons of finished solution.
Standard Application Dilution rates / Mixing Ratios:
- 0.27 fl. oz. (8 mL)/gal. of water – 0.075% total a.i. – maintenance or preventative treatments
- 0.54 fl. oz. (16 mL)/gal. of water – 0.15% total a.i. – severe infestations, faster knockdown, or longer residual needs
- One gallon of finished solution covers approximately 1,000 square feet. For high volume applications for outdoor treatments, dilute at lower concentrations and apply in greater volumes of water.
Use in the Following Areas:
In and around buildings and structures; On established landscape ornamentals around residential and commercial properties; buildings, structures, and modes of transport including: apartment buildings, bakeries, bottling facilities, breweries, buses, cafeterias, candy plants, cereal processing and manufacturing plants, correctional facilities, dairies and dairy product processing plants, factories, frozen food plants, grain mills, granaries, greenhouses (structures only), hospitals, hotels, houses, industrial buildings, kitchens, laboratories, livestock housing, pet kennels, manufacturing establishments, mausoleums, meat and produce canneries, nursing homes, pickle factories, poultry houses, processing and packing plants, restaurants, schools, spice plants, stores, warehouses, wineries and similar structures; food processing facilities (non food/feed areas), transportation vessels such as buses, trucks, trailers, rail cars, and marine vessels.
Use 8-16 mL per gallon of water in a low-pressure system such as a hand pump sprayer. Treat where pests have been seen or found, or can find shelter. Use only as a spot spray, crack and crevice or void treatment. Treat entry points such as around water pipes, doors, windows, and eaves. Treat around where pests normally feed or hide such as baseboards, corners, around water pipes, behind or under refrigerators, cabinets, sinks, and stoves.
Bed Bug Control:
- Use at a rate of 0.27 fl oz (8 milliliters) of Temprid SC per gallon of water.
- Controls bed bug populations that are resistant to pyrethroid insecticides. Spray bugs directly wherever possible following site directions below:
- For infested mattresses, remove linens and wash before reuse. Apply to tufts, seams, folds, and edges until moist. Allow to dry before remaking bed.
- Apply to bedsprings, box springs, and the interior of bed frames or headboards, including all cracks and joints.
- When bed bugs are found in upholstered furniture, apply only to the infested tufts, seams, folds and edges, but do not apply to flat surfaces where prolonged human contact will occur. If bugs heavily infest furniture (inside cushions and/or batting) apply a labeled insecticide dust.
- Apply as a crack and crevice treatment to all baseboards, moldings, beneath floor coverings and carpets, closets, shelves, curtains, furniture and picture frames that may provide harborage to bed bugs.
- Temprid SC is not repellent to bed bugs, can withstand up to 8 hours of bed bug heat treatments (140 F), and prevents bed bug infestations for up to 6 months.
* Do not apply as a broadcast treatment to floors or floor coverings or as a space spray.
Use 8-16 mL per gallon of water; always use the higher dilution rate for fire ants, hornets, wasps, and yellow jackets. Apply to surfaces on buildings, porches, patios and other structures, around doors and windows, eaves and attic vents, utility entry points, soffit areas and other exterior openings where outdoor/perimeter pests enter the structure or where they have been seen or found, or can find shelter. To prevent infestation, treat the outside of the structure to include walls to a height of 2 to 3 feet and treat the soil, turf, or other ground covering adjacent to the structure in a band up to 10 feet wide.
Ants – Locate and treat ant nests, if possible. Follow trails of foraging workers, check under objects near the structure, and inspect other likely nest sites. If ants are nesting in the soil, thoroughly drench or inject the nest and surrounding soil. Treat ant trails around windows and doors, along sidewalks, or other areas where seen. Apply a perimeter treatment as described above. Temprid SC contains a systemic insecticide (imidacloprid), so foliar application to landscape ornamentals provides locally systemic control of aphids, scale insects, and other plant-sucking insects and limit the production of honeydew (an important food source for ant populations). Apply a very light mist of the dilute spray, and do not allow excess run-off. Treat thoroughly for good coverage including the underside of leaves as these pests often feed or rest there.
Wood-Infesting Pests – Dilute at a rate of 0.27 oz. (8 mL) per gallon of water. Apply as a spray or foam to galleries, structure voids, or soil or wood surfaces where target pests may be found. Treatment dilutions may also be applied to wood surfaces by paint brush or rollers. Do not apply directly to firewood. See product label for complete instructions.
- Two modes of action for optimal control of target pests.
- Low odor and non-staining formulation.
- Low phytotoxicity on a wide range of ornamental plants.
- Delivers unsurpassed ant control, and also eliminates aphids, scale and mealy bugs.
- Can be applied indoors and outdoors (please refer to label for special precautions regarding indoor use).
- Can be applied outdoors as a perimeter spray 3 ft. up and 10 ft out from the structure.
- Labeled to control some perimeter pests that other products don’t.
- Controls pests fast.
- Combines fast-acting beta-cyfluthrin with the systemic residual control of Imidacloprid to provide premium performance.
- Low dilution rate means more finished solution from each bottle.
Extra Tips for Using
- Shake well before using. Product may separate if stored for long periods of time, but this will not diminish its efficacy.
- Do not contact treated surfaces until dry. People and pets may re-enter after the treated area is dry.
- Store concentrate out of direct sunlight and extreme temperatures for maximum shelf life.
- Use in conjunction with other formulations and products, such as insecticide dusts and aerosols, for optimum bed bug control.

Temprid is the ONLY choice for Bed Bugs
By Rick in phoenix on 08/09/2011
I used Suspend for Weeks on my bed bug problem. It helped and killed some but wasn't really doing the job I needed. I tested the suspend directly on some of my bugs and realized it was very slow to act or even if directly prayed still did not work at all. After consulting with the Bayer Rep I bought the Temprid and all I can say was WOW this stuff killed the bedbugs residually and immediately Overnight it was like my problem was gone and I still find one or two dead under the bed every few days as they try to make their way out for a meal. I think they are all gone now and all I can say is Temprid all the way.

Murders Bed Bugs
By Christie in virginia on 04/24/2012
Bottom Line - FAST SHIPPING and PRODUCT WORKS We had an infestation in one bedroom and a few in the bedroom next to it. My wife was devastated and took the whole episode pretty hard. We had taken my son to the doctor three times for a "rash" and was told it was eczema. She had to tell people at church and friends to make sure they had not spread to friends. My office at work shut down my office for two days to exterminate after I told them about it. I had to take about a week off to get all this done. This is the steps we took to get rid of the bugs. 1.Threw out the mattress, box spring and headboard/foot board in the most infested room (sons). 2.took all clothing out of the infected rooms and washed in the hottest water out water heater could produce. 3. Sprayed a gallon of sterifab between the two rooms on everything. Walls, carpet, cracks, furniture....everything. 4. Put 3 pounds of FOOD GRADE Diatomaceous earth powder on the carpet throughout the house. We left this down for 3 days because we had to wait for the carpet cleaners to have an opening. I found a live bug on a mattress and put it on the dusted carpet and it was dead in an hour. I can't say it wasn't some other step that helped to kill it but it was cheap and animal friendly and I had the time. BTW I got it from a local pet store for 15.00. I also took off outlet covers and dusted in there. I feel like this helped keep them from spreading from the most infested rooms because the rooms were not really livable for a few days and I didn't want the bugs to spread seeking out a meal. I'm just an armchair exterminator so who knows...but it did make us feel better even if it was a bit messy. I did find it dried out your skin and airway but is pet safe. 5. We had all the carpet steam cleaned and the mattress in the lesser infected room. 6.Ordered temprid from here and had it sent two day air. At this point we had moved back into the lesser infected room and had an air mattress in the most infected room. I slept in the most infected room and my wife and son slept in the lesser. I didn't seem to have any bites but my wife and son did have a few. 7. My order arrived on time with easy tracking and the instructions were easy to follow. I mixed up the insecticide per the instructions and sprayed down the two rooms including the remaining box spring, mattress sides and bottom, carpet that wasn't in constant contact with people, and all cracks. We moved back to our normal sleeping arrangement. Mom and dad in lesser and son on air mat in the more infected room. Wife had a few bites, son had none and I found one large bug on me when I woke up in the night. We would search our bed every morning and found a couple dead bugs in the metal frame railing. After the first week of temprid my wife still had a couple bites but no one else. I reapplied temprid as before after 7 days. During the second week we found maybe two dead bugs on the mattress/frame but no bites. I reapplied temprid one more time after 7 days. WE purchased a new mattress/box spring for my sons room and encased it with covers....just in case. After four weeks no bites and no dead bugs found thanks to hard work, Temprid, and DoMyOwnPestControl.com Bottom Line - FAST SHIPPING and PRODUCT WORKS

Bed Bug Nightmare
By Deneene in Baltimore on 06/14/2011
I had bed bugs in my home that were resistant to the Suspend SC product. I did some research and found the Temprid SC is the product to use for resistant bed bugs. I used this product along with the Gentrol and Diatomaceous earth dust and it worked great. I have not seen anymore bugs. I am a very pleased and happy customer!!!

This products sucks on roaches
By Rey in kissimmee fl on 04/17/2010
Treated various homes for German roaches. Followed up a week later and the roaches were walking over it like nothing was there. Also please note this product is not tank mixable with other products so you would have to use a new or chemically neutralized tank for it to be effective. Also it is not labeled for use with insect growth regulators. Also tested product on variety of ants, it is effective against household ants. I would still go with Termidor outside once you find the trail and Phantom on the inside. Especially for roaches, Phantom is your best option. Also phantom can be mixed with insect growth regulators, which will maximize effectiveness.

We have only used one treatment so far, but the night we used it I saw one bedbug right afterwards. Since then we have not seen one. For weeks I could not sleep or relax in my home. Since we used temprid sc none of my family has been bitten at night. Not only have we not seen any bedbugs, we haven't seen ANY bugs. I am so happy my husband found this site and ordered this. Orkin was going to charge us $800! We used the temprid, sprayed with phantom and came out $600 cheaper! Thank you for selling this, and making it so that I was again able to sleep in my bed and nap on my couch without waking every 30 minutes to make sure no disgusting bedbugs were crawling on me or my children!
Temprid for bed-bugs
By Gail in Albuquerque on 10/04/2017
They come right back. It doesn't work well. You'll just poison yourself without results. I've used almost an entire bottle (repeated treatments) without any long term improvement. I don't know if I was sold a bad bottle of it, or what? I bought it here.
Thank you for your review. We apologize you have not received the expected results. However, for bed bugs, Temprid SC should be used at the rate of 8-16mL and then reapplied at 7-10 day intervals as long as activity continues. In general, we recommend retreating for bed bugs at 10-14 day intervals since that is how long it takes for new eggs to hatch. Please see our article and videos, How To Get Rid of Bed Bugs, for more tips: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/how-to-get-rid-of-bed-bugs-a-109.html

Product is top notch!
By D. in Knoxville, TN on 09/29/2017
I had three separate treatments at my condo by a professional company. Three weeks later still had an issue. I used DE diatomaceous earth first on the base boards and inside the electrical outlets. I waited a week and vacuumed very good emptying vacuum container and then the followed that up with a treatment of Temprid SC! It's been over a month and not one sign of bugs. I made inception traps from old plastic storage containers and not one, baby, adult or any sign of them after spraying Temprid SC! Great stuff and prompt delivery. Extra satisfied

Purchased Temprid Sc after using bedlam plus which killed some bed bugs but didn't get the results I wanted. After 1 treatment I have not seen or been bitten. I use several items for control Temprid SC, Gentrol growth regulators and Cimexa dust. I also purchased encasement and climb up monitors. In order for this job to work you have to be very thorough and treat every crack and crevice you can find. Plan on spending 1 1/2 to 2 hours on first treatment. I also purchased a respirator as the fumes are kind of strong but go away after it is dry. Have done three treatments and haven't seen a bedbug or any bugs for that matter. Temprid sc is worth the money not just for bedbugs but a lot of other insects.

No mo pest company
By Nick in San Diego, ca on 08/08/2017
Great product, this is the same insecticide that the pest control company was charging me $63 a month for a five minute service. Thus far ants and other little insects have not invaded my house i spray with one or 2 gallon sprayer watch YouTube videos on how and where to spray. Have also used safely inside the house. Should get two years worth of monthly spraying for the price of one month pest-control company service .

By Barbara in Franklin, NC on 07/12/2017
I started off by spraying the outside perimeter of my house and around the doors and windows. Within one day I could tell a difference. So, I sprayed the inside of my home and haven't seen a bug, spider, moth, roach or anything else, since. I love this stuff and I'm SO glad I found it. I highly recommend it.

Ask our product experts...
Ask a Question
QHow long does Temprid SC stay active as a residual?
ATemprid SC will stay active for up to 90 days indoors and for about 30 days outdoors.
QIs Temprid SC a repellent or non-repellent like Phantom and Termidor SC?
ATemprid SC has beta-cyfluthrin in it which is not a non-repellent product. It is a repellent insecticide. However, repellent these days does not mean the insect can sense that it is there and avoids the area. The insect actually walks over the barrier and gets the insecticide on its tiny microscopic hairs on its body and eventually dies.
QIs Temprid SC labeled for bedbugs?
A Yes, Temprid SC is labeled for Bed Bug control. Please see the supplemental label link under the product picture on the Temprid SC page on our website for more information. Temprid SC can be applied to the tufts, folds and seams of mattresses, boxsprings and upholstered furniture. It can also be applied as a crack and crevice treatment to all baseboards, moldings, beneath floor coverings and carpets, closets, shelves, curtains, furniture and picture frames that may provide harborage areas for bed bugs.

QHow many gallons of spray will a 400 ML bottle of Temprid SC make?
ATemprid SC can be mixed at a lower concentration of 8 ml per gallon of water and a higher concentration of 16 ml per gallon of water. There is a total of 400 ml in a bottle. So at a lower concentration of 8 ml per gallon of water, Temprid SC will make 50 gallons of finished solution. If you mixed all gallons at the higher concentration of 16 ml per gallon of water, you would get 25 gallons of finished solution.

QHow long does it take for bed bugs to die once it crosses the Temprid SC residual?
AHow long it takes the bed bugs to die after they come into contact with a treated area will depend on a number of factors. It will depend on the maturity of the bed bug as well as how long they stayed on the treated area, how long it has been since the area was treated and the concentration that was used to treat the area. Typically it can take anywhere from a couple of hours to a day or so for them to die.

QWould it be alright if I mixed 4 ml of Temprid in a half a gallon of water for bed bugs?
I don't think the area I'm treating will need a full gallon of this product. Will it be OK if I cut it down to a half of a gallon with 4 ml of Temprid mixed in.
A Temprid SC Insecticide†can be mixed in smaller amounts of water as long as the dilution rate is halved as well so that should be fine.

QIs Temprid SC the same as Tekko Pro?
A Temprid SC and Tekko Pro are 2 different products.† Temprid SC is an insecticide that provides quick knockdown and long residual control of many different insect pests.† Tekko Pro is an insect growth regulator (IGR), which does not kill anything, but stops juvenile pests from growing into adults so that they are unable to reproduce.† These two products may be used together in the same tank mix to give you both actions in one spray.†

QWhat is the best insecticide for roaches and general pests in central Florida?
A Temprid SC is one of the best products for roaches and other pests.† You can treat outdoors, one foot up on the foundation and one foot out on the ground. Indoors, you can spray on baseboards areas and cracks and crevices. If you are dealing with German roaches, we would recommend to use something like our Roach Control Kit Rotation A.

QI want to treat some trees in my front yard for termites but there is a well close by?
Is it safe to treat the trees? And will it harm the water from the well, that is used for drinking, etc in my house? I also want to spray the perimeter of my house to treat termites ants, etc from entering but am worried that when the chemical reaches the grass or dirt ground, assuming it will seep down to the water supply for the well, will we be harmed? I have a young child in the home and haven't taken the chance. I have some of this chemical on hand leftover from bed bug treatment.
A We do not recommend treating the trees with Temprid SC for termite control. Termites do not normally attack live, healthy trees so you most likely will not find any products that will work as a ground barrier around the trees.† Most people are primarily concerned with protecting the big investment, their home, and Termidor SC would be the product to use for that.† It is only labeled to be used adjacent to the structure though.† Please take a moment to read over our article on "How to do a Termite Treatment" for complete details. Termidor SC can be applied up against the structure (1ft up and 1 ft out) for a perimeter for ant control. Termidor SC is not known to leech through the soil. You will need to follow the Termidor SC product label which has specific instructions for treating near a well to avoid any contamination issues: TREATMENT AROUND WELLS OR CISTERNS: Do not contaminate wells or cisterns.
Structures With Wells/Cisterns Inside Foundations: Structures that contain wells or cisterns within the foundation of a structure can only be treated using the following techniques:
1. Do not apply within 5 feet of any well or cistern by rodding and/or trenching or by the backfill method. Treat soil between 5 and 10 feet from the well or cistern by the backfill method only. Treatment of soil adjacent to water pipes within 3 feet of grade should only be done by the backfill method.
a) Trench and remove soil to be treated onto heavy plastic sheeting or similar material or into a wheelbarrow.
b) Treat the soil at the rate of 4 gallons of solution per 10 linear feet per foot of depth of the trench, or 1 gallon per 1.0 cubic feet of soil. Mix thoroughly into the soil taking care to contain the liquid and prevent runoff or spillage.
c) After the treated soil has absorbed the solution, replace the soil into the trench.
Structures With Adjacent Wells/Cisterns and/or Other Water Bodies: Applicators must inspect all structures with nearby water sources such as wells, cisterns, surface ponds, streams, and other bodies of water and evaluate, at a minimum, the treatment recommendations listed below prior to making an application.
1. Prior to treatment, if feasible, expose the water pipes) coming from the well to the structure, if the pipes) enter the structure within 3 feet of grade.
2. Prior to treatment applicators are advised to take precautions to limit the risk of applying the termiticide into subsurface drains that could empty into any bodies of water. These precautions include evaluating whether application of the termiticide to the top of the footer may result in contamination of the subsurface drain. Factors such as depth to the drain system and soil type and degree of compaction should be taken into account in determining the depth of treatment.
3. When appropriate (i.e., on the water side of the structure), the treated backfill technique (described above) can also be used to minimize off-site movement of termiticide.
We do not recommend treating the trees with Temprid SC for termite control. Termidor SC is not known to leech through the soil. You will need to follow the Termidor SC product label which has specific instructions for treating near a well to avoid any contamination issues:
TREATMENT AROUND WELLS OR CISTERNS: Do not contaminate wells or cisterns.

A Temprid SC is labeled to be sprayed around cracks and crevices, so you could potentially spray it in the cracks and crevices of the toy box as long as there are no toys in the box. Just be sure to let it dry completely before adding those back in. However, we would not recommend spraying it directly on the toys themselves. Also be sure that your child is out of the area while you are spraying, and until the product dries completely.†

QIs Temprid SC effective on mosquitoes?
since our country is tropical and dengue is rampant, would you recommend temprid sc for mass treatment?
A Yes, Temprid SC is labeled for use on mosquitoes, as well as various other insects. Be sure to treat the vegetation where mosquitoes would be. We do also suggest treating any sitting water with Altosid Larvicide. Altosid Pro-G will last up to 30 days.
