Terro-PCO is also a "green" pesticide that can be used in Green Pest Management programs. As a borate-based product, Terro-PCO has a very minimal mammalian toxicity and targets specific pests. This reduces the repercussions on people, pets and non-target insects helpful to the environment (such as butterflies and honeybees). Also, Terro-PCO is applied only where needed, further reducing any unnecessary impact to the rest of the environment. And since it is long-lasting, less product is required for a successful and effective Green Pest Management program.
How do I use the Terro PCO Ant Bait Stations?
- Place baits, label side up, near ant trails or close to where ants are numerous.
- Place additional baits anywhere ants may enter the home.
- For best results, use seven baits to ensure sufficient supply for the ants.
- Monitor regularly for activity but do not interfere with the natural behavior of ants. Replace with additional baits when first set is depleted.
- Once ants are controlled, replace baits every three months to keep ants from returning.

I've inherited sugar ants with my home 3 yrs ago. I've had a local business come and place bait and spray 3 times. Began seeing them on kitchen counter in Jan 2012, and as their numbers increased, I called same business to come spray/bait again. After being told they weren't offering their 60-day guarantee, I decided to figure something else out, as $159 for their service wasn't acceptable anymore. I found this product online and did some research and decided to give it a try as it was much less expensive than the alternative. The day it arrived something happened and the ant situation was over the top--by this I mean there were thousands on my counter to a point I couldn't lean against the edge of my sink. I was freaking out and trying to figure out where they were coming in. Regardless, I opened 4 bait stations and placed 2 at opposite ends of my counter and 2 on the floor where I found the ant highway. The next morning I dreaded seeing the ants weren't gone, and much to my surprise, not only were 98% gone, but the ones still around were by the bait stations on the floor and moving very slowly. I took the bait off my counters and placed them on the floor as well, and within the next 2 days, all ants were completely gone. I've left them on floor (under edge of cabinets) and out of the way. If I hadn't seen this myself, I wouldn't believe this worked so well and so fast. I was ready to move out due to infestation in my kitchen. I bought the box of 30 and will be placing them around within the coming months, as these ants are an ongoing problem--for my neighbors as well.

Terro Ant Bait
By Tricia in Chandler, AZ on 04/25/2012
I have tried just about everything on the market to rid my home of an ant problem and this is the only solution I have found. Once you place the ant traps down, it only takes a couple of days for you to see them disappear. It's like magic. The key is changing them out every 3 months if you've had an ant problem like I've had. I'm not sure if I will have to use these forever in my home or just for certain times of the year yet but so far this is the best value for the return. I definately recommend this product. Great customer service also when I called to explain that my dogs dug into one of the traps. They quickly pointed me to their site and told me to locate the MSDS pdf and contact my vet just to be sure. Nice product and great customer service deserves a 5 star rating in my book. No drawbacks whatsoever.

We were inundated with pavement ants at our beach house, especially in the kitchen. We had tried different solutions to no avail (Windex, bleach, keeping counters clean, etc.). After researching the problem and talking to my mom in Florida who had the same problem, we tried this product and voila -- after about two days, the ant problem went away. I left several traps on my counters in the path of the marching ants. It's important to let the ants feed on the traps and then go back to their nest where they feed the other ants and the queen. Borax is a slow killer so it takes a day or two. The amazing thing is that our treatment seemed to help the neighbors problem too! So in a nutshell, these traps work well! I leave a few traps around now just in case. A steady diet should keep the ant population in control.

Silent time bomb
By Jimmy in Memphis,Tennessee on 06/03/2010
This product works! It took out the ants out in three days. It's been 3 weeks since I last saw any ants. Out of the 30 stations, I only used 4 stations. As of 6/3/2010, I have 26 more stations on standby. I really recommend this product to anyone looking to rid themselves of rabbit ants.

Something that actually works and its cheap
By Thebplot in asbury park, nj on 06/29/2010
A friend, who is an exterminator, gave me some of these for an ant problem last year. He said "its the best on the market and only thing that really works". This year, I bought these stations and did it myself - but still call him for my carpenter bees. Highly recommend product.
Love this product

I get ants every year when it starts to get hot. Last year I used Terro and it worked in days and this year my mother-in-law paid someone to come and spray the house and the ants remained. Two days ago I bought Terro and same as last year the ants are gone. Love this product and will use it for now on. Thank you

I have bait stations located in several areas around my kitchen. The first day was wonderful. The ants went straight to the one I placed in my pantry. We had been having a lot of trouble with them in there. This week, we bought a box of doughnuts at the grocery store and placed them on the counter. The next morning, there were ants all over them! The bait stations are still located on the counters and in the window sills. I have no idea where they came from and frankly, I am very disappointed. We had to throw away the entire box. Two dozen doughnuts!
We are sorry to hear that the stations are not performing up to your expectations. Ant baits are terrific tools to use in an ant treatment program. Unfortunately, competing food sources will always be an issue with ants choosing the bait over the new food source. It is important to know that some species of ants can have thousands or even millions of ants in one colony and it can take several weeks to eliminate them with baits. During this time all competing food sources should be kept in sealed containers. We do hope this information helps and you continue to use the stations until all of the ants are gone. Please let us know if you have any questions. We are always happy to help!

I set out four of these bait stations the day they came in. One in the pantry where we have been having a terrible time with them. Almost immediately the ants were bombarding the station. It was awesome to watch. Within 24 hours or maybe even less, they were gone. The other bait stations were set around the kitchen where we had seen them before but no ants have visited them. I guess our problem is solved!
The best stuff hands down

I have had ant issues everywhere I've lived all over the east coast. I have tried sprays, natural things. Washing down the ant trails and the countertops with vinegar. This Terro gel is all you will need. In less than 3 days. Every ant was gone. No trails, a lot of ants were in the Terro but after that, I have maybe seen 3 or 4 ants in the 6 months till the next deep freeze. I never need more than 3 of them in a year.

We get ants every time the season changes from cold to warm. If I could give the Terro liquid a negative grade I would. Did not work for me at all I been dropping drops for a week and the ants love it but they seem to multiply not die. Now I had to pay a exterminator to kid all these ants

Very simple, easy to use bait stations. We began to see dying ants immediately in the house. We only put out a few bait stations on our first floor, but it affected ants everywhere in the home, including the second floor. Even though the ants were dying daily for a couple weeks, we were still seeing them everyday. We just treated the outside foundation with Termidor and had our first day without any visible ants in the home. We are hoping this is a sign that the nest is outside the home.

Amazing Ant Begone!
By Evelyn in Reynoldsburg, Ohio on 04/09/2016
Can't stand these little pesky pest and do not like using any type of spray. So, when I found the Terro Bait online I was encouraged enough to place an order. I receive my shipment within a few days...which, was a real plus. Put two baits out right away and waited to see how quickly I would see results. Happy to say, after two days...no more pest. I was just amazed. Thanks, Terro, for such an awesome product! I highly recommend this product to all.

Gone, Gone, Gone!

The exterminator we pay to spray our yard told me we couldn't get rid of the sugar ants in our house. The Terro bait stations worked beautifully and in the exact manner described. Recommend product as well as this company. Comment section contains a lot of good advise as well.

QWill Terro PCo work on carpenter ants as well?
I have little black ants(I believe sugar ants) as well as carpenter ants. I am looking for an ant bait station that will work on both. Is this a good option?
ATerro PCO Ant Bait Stations will treat carpenter ants as well as all types of other ants, as long as they are in the mood for a sugar bait. It is highly recommended to also use Advance 375A Ant Granular Bait which is a protein bait. You should always give ants a choice as they may be in the mood for either a protein (granule) or a sugar (gel) bait. Even though the smaller ants you have are typically called "sugar ants", they too can be in the mood for a protein and they will not touch the Terro if they are not in need of the sugar.
QPlease tell me how to use the Terro PCO bait stations.
It seems if I cut the stations where they say to the liquid bait will just come out and run all over.
AThere will not be any mess using the Terro PCO Ant Bait Stations as long as you follow the product label instructions. The small cut will create a vacuum of sorts which will stop the bait from running out.

QWhat is shelf life of the Terro PCO Ant Bait Stations?
I plan to store them in a dry garage subject to winter freezing temps and 90+ degree summers.
A The†Terro PCO Ant Bait Stations do not really have an expiration date because the effectiveness of the active ingredient does not diminish over time. However, like any food-based product, the bait may become less appetizing to foraging ants after an extended shelf life. We recommend using fresh bait if you've had the same stations for more than two years.†

QHow long does it take for Terro PCO Ant Bait Stations to start killing after an ant consumes the bait?
My sister has the ant problem and bought your drops and we were wondering how long it took to start working. the location where your product is being used is Flint,MI
A Once ants consume the Terro PCO Ant Bait it starts working almost immediately to kill them. You should see results within 1-3 days from when the ants feed off the bait.

QIs treatment with Terro compatible with Dominion 2L?
We have an epic Crazy ant problem around our home with suspected nests within wall and ceiling voids. I have treated the perimeter with Dominion 2L but would like more immediate results until it takes effect. What do you suggest? You guys run a great site with excellent Q&A. I really appreciate it!
AWe recommend you use Phantom Aerosol for indoor crazy ant control. Phantom works much like the Dominion 2L in that it transfers from ant to ant. Phantom seems to work better with crazy ants than bait does as crazy ants will sometimes avoid baits.

QCan you buy Terro-pco Ant Bait in stores? If so, where??
AWe do not know where else you can buy Terro PCO Ant Bait Stations since we are ourselves are a retailer, not the manufacturer. You can buy them from our online store and we do offer FREE, fast shipping to just about anywhere in the United States and we would love the opportunity to earn your business.
QHow would I use Terro PCO ant bait if the ants are located in the bathroom walls (tub area)?
We have been in a new home for 6 months now and recently noticed tiny black ants. At first, we assumed that they were coming in via the plumbing/pipes. They end up all of the bathtub and floor, constantly throughout the day. However, we recently noticed that they are in fact coming out of the walls. How would this bait work for them to take back to the colony?
AYou simply place the stations close to the area where you are seeing activity such as on the ledge of the tub. The ants will come and feed on the ant bait and carry it back to the colony where they will share it with the other ants. Baits do a great job eliminating those ants that have colonies in hidden or inaccessible areas. Ants do occasionally change their nutritional needs and sometimes will accept carbohydrates or sweet baits (usually liquids or gels) such as the Terro PCO and at other times they will only accept protein baits (usually solids or granules) such as the Niban granules. We usually recommend that you use both a sweet and protein bait together so that you do not have a problem with bait acceptance.

QWhat does the PCO in Terro PCO stand for?
AThe PCO in Terro PCO stands for "Pest Control Operator" because it was designed for use by pest management professionals.

QWhen usingTerro PCO Ant Bait Stations - 30 stations, do you recommend using the Advance granular bait also?
Is that supposed to go in the liquid or in a separate bait station?
A We recommend to use a granule bait combined with Terro PCO Ant Bait Stations - 30 stations because ants are very fickle and may crave a sweet bait like in the bait stations or a protein like in the Advance 375A. Please review our Ant Pest Control Guide for more information about ant control.

QDespite reading the directions, I still don't understand how to open the Terro PCO Ant Bait Stations - 30?
AThe Terro PCO Ant Bait Stations - 30 stations is a clean easy way to kill ants. All you have to do is break away the bait from the pack and simply snip to top at the severed line.

QDoes Terro PCO Ant Bait Stations - 30 stations kill Harvester Ants?
I have Harvester Ant nests in the back yard and bug spray does not get rid of them on a long term basis. The nest is gone for about a week, and then is back active again.
A Terro PCO Ant Bait Stations - 30 stations†will not treat for Harvester Ants. We recommend to use Advance 375A††out in the yard and to nest. Around your home you can apply Termidor SC†1 foot up and out from the foundation.
