    Q
Someone spilled the Terro-PCO liquid ant bait on a tile floor. How could this be cleaned?.
Would there be any danger to them in cleaning this up?
    A
The Terro PCO liquid can be cleaned by pouring kitty litter of the spill and sweeping it up. Soap and water can clean any sticky areas. Please refer to the Terro PCO MSDS for further information if needed: http://www.domyownpestcontrol.com/msds/label_msds_terropco.pdf

    Q
What is the most effective dilution? 1% or 2% or as shipped?
    A
TERRO-PCO Liquid Ant Bait can be diluted with water to obtain a 1% or 2% solution of Borax. Such a dilution is helpful when you plan on using a substantial volume of TERRO-PCO Liquid Ant Bait in a baiting program designed to control very large multi-queen and multi-colony ant infestations. We recommend using the lower usage rate at first so more of the ants are able to get back and forth between the bait and the colony before they succumb to the bait.

    Q
How does terro-pco work? Is poison brought back to the queen/colony?
    A
Terro PCO works exactly like you described. The foraging ants will collect the bait and take it back to the colony to share with the other ants and the queen.

    Q
What is the dilution rate for Terro-PCO Liquid Ant Bait?
I mixed up a dilution of 2% (a little more probably) and so far my ants are not interested, after several days. When I used the Terro that I bought at Lowes, they mobbed it within hours and swarmed it till it was gone. I saw a scout on my kitchen counter and placed a couple drops in front of him and he sniffed it and then walked away. What is wrong? Do I need to use it full strength so it is thick like the one I got at Lowes? Thank you.
    A

The mix rate for Terro PCO Liquid Ant Bait is 1 part Terro-PCO Liquid Ant Bait to 5 parts water for a 1% dilution, or 1 part Terro-PCO Liquid Ant Bait to 2 parts water for a 2% dilution.  It should not be used in it’s concentrate form.

When using liquid/gel baits like Terro PCO Liquid Ant Bait, it is important to remember that ants change what they’re foraging for.  The go between carbohydrate based baits (gels and liquids) and protein based baits.  If they are not foraging for carbohydrates, they will avoid the baits at all costs.  We always recommend offering both baits so you always have a bait out that will appeal to them in whichever stage they’re foraging at.  Maxforce Complete Granular Bait is a great choice to add a protein based bait to your rotation.

    Q
How long is expiration date on 1 gal
If I buy 1 gal bait, does it has expiration date?
    A
Terro PCO Liquid Ant Bait does not have an expiration date because the effectiveness of the active ingredient  does not diminish over time. However, like any food-based product, the bait may become less appetizing to foraging ants after an extended shelf life. We recommend using fresh bait if you've had the same liquid bait for more than two years.

    Q
What are similarities and differences between Terro PCO Liquid Ant Bait and DominAnt Liquid Ant Bait?
    A

DominAnt Liquid Ant Bait is a newer formulation of sweet-based, liquid ant bait made by Nisus. The active ingredient is the same, 5.4% Boric Acid, and the uses are basically the same as well. DominAnt is replacing the Terro PCO Liquid Ant Bait, which will soon be unavailable. DominAnt concentrate is available in both a pint and a gallon size, and it may be used as is or diluted. Please see the product label for full instructions.

    Q
would Terro work Gel work for crazy carribean ants?
    A
According to the Terro Label this bait will work on crazy ants in general. Keep in mind that ants nutritional needs can change on a day to day, or week to week basis, and this is only a sugar bait. You may need a granular bait like Maxforce Complete to provide them with a protein based bait.

    Q
Will the Terro PCO Liquid Ant Bait work on carpenter ants? How do I know if that is what I have in my home?
For several years I can hear activity in my bathroom wall. We had raspberry bushes up against the outside of our house. We have since torn them all down about four years ago. Do you believe that these are carpenter ants that I am hearing in my bathroom wall? And reading your reviews people seem to have seen trails or ants going to their destination. I have only seen approximately 8 to 10 in my bathroom all one at a time. So Am I to assume these are Carpenter ants that I hear in my wall? Where...outside... Do I look to see where they are coming from? I've checked other yrs. and never found evidence of where they enter. Please help. I'm afraid some day my whole wall will collapse if I can't solve this problem. I will be ordering your product I just need to know which is right for me.
    A
We apologize but without being there we cannot tell you for sure what insect you are dealing with in your home. Our very best recommendation would be to contact a local pest control company in your area. Often times they will offer free or very low cost inspections to come out and identify what pest is invading your home and where the source of the problem is. If you truly feel you have carpenter ants, our best recommendation would be our Carpenter Ant Kit #1. This gives you 2 baits to place in the areas where you have witnessed some of the ant activity and they will take it back to the nest to eliminate it at its source. The baits are specifically geared towards attracting carpenter ants but will work on other species as well.

    Q
Will Terro PCO Liquid Ant Bait work on ant mounds UNDER the house?
My stepdaughter's house has mounds under their house. They have had exterminators out repeatedly, with no success. Will this kill the ants and when should it be used? Now or when the ants start invading?
    A
The Terro PCO Liquid Ant Bait will kill any ants that are actively taking the bait and can be applied anytime you are noticing ant activity.  If the mounds are not active you would not want to apply the bait as it is meant to draw them to it so that they will come and pick it up, eat it, and carry it back to feed to the colony. Terro PCO Liquid is designed to be used in bait stations such as the Ant No More Liquid Ant Bait Stations.
