Product Overview

The Tomahawk E50D with rear door turns the typical exluder trap into a repeating animal catch trap.  Simply remove the rear door to use the trap as a true excluder, or put the door in place to trap excluded animals.

Tomahawk Professional Excluders are durable and easy to use. Made of heavy duty 16 gauge galvanized wire mesh, the Model E50D features small 1/2 in. x 1 in. mesh openings and a discreet opening perfect for removing unwanted squirrles, rats or similar sized animals. Simply attach the E50D Excluder to any entry point on your home or other structure - the flaps should rest on the outside of the structure - and a departing animal cannot reenter.

NOTE: This mesh opening is too large to exclude mice.

    Did the trick!

    By James on 01/23/2012

    Verified Purchase

We had squirrel problems and the regular traps in the attic only caught 1. We had cameras and the remaining squirrels would jump on top of the cage till the door closed and not even try to go inside. I think they were mocking me... We attached an HVAC floor adapter to the hole in the eave they were using and that funneled them into the one way trap. I had one the next morning and another the morning after that. A total of 4 squirrels caught and we have had no problems since.

    Modify the excluder

    By Jim on 08/10/2012

    Verified Purchase

I think it would be better if the release door could be opened remotely. It is located on the second story of my house and I would rather not go there on a ladder and deal with a wild creature. I think their should be a way to open the back door by pulling a string from the ground even if as a customer I provided the string and you modified the door so I could open it by pulling on the string on the string from the ground. Get those little gray cell going and figure it out. ps your software does not have a send button and continues to want me to rate my own review. Fix it.

Q
Can this be mounted vertically?

My squirrel enters through a hole made on the underside of an eave. Can I mount this vertically with the entrance pointing up at the eave? Will the excluder door prevent the squirrel from returning to the attic space in this position?

A
No, the Tomahawk One Way Excluder with Rear Door for Squirrels/Rats cannot be mounted vertically and still work properly. Unfortunately, none of the one way excluders can be mounted vertically.

Q
What product would I use to kill flying squirrels in my house?
A

We do not carry products that are labeled to kill squirrels. We do carry Tomahawk Professional Excluder Model E50D as well as other traps that work great for squirrels. If you know where the squirrels are entering you can use a Squirrel Trap. Also, try and seal up any entry points using copper mesh. Please see our Squirrel Page for more information.

Q
I have a squirrel in the ceiling of my house. What is the best way to get rid of it?
A

We do have one way door excluders which allow the squirrels to leave the attic but not reenter using the same hole that would be a great option to try out. It is very important to seal up every hole possible to keep the squirrels out for good.   You have to find where the squirrels are getting into the attic and close up the entry points.  That is the only option for future squirrel free living.
