    What size catfish will it catch and what do you bait it with
    A
    The 406 Single Trap Door with Easy Release Door Rigid XL Fish Live Trap will catch catfish up to 5lbs. Over 5lbs they will not fit in the funnel. The trap can hold up to 15 fish at a time. There are different types of bait you can use. I have found that just plain old hot dogs work best.

    Is 406 Single Trap Door trap good to catch catfish in a river?
    A
    The 406 Single Trap Door with Easy Release Door Rigid XL Fish Live Trap is a great trap to use for catfish in a river. A plus is that it is made from galvanized steel for rust and corrosion protection.

    What is the size of the opening the fish go through on the Model 406 fish trap?

    Per the manufacturer, the size of the opening is about 4 inches in diameter, but the prongs can be bent inwards some if you need the hole to be smaller.

    Is Fish Trap Easy Release Model 406 good for catching and holding nice size mudminnows but big enough to let the smaller ones swim out?

    Tomahawk Rigid Single Door XL Fish Trap Easy Release Model 406 would not be good for allowing small mudminnow to swim out.  We have spoken with the manufacturer and they suggested the Tomahawk Perch and Minnow Trap with Adjustable Funnel - Model 424.  This it item is only currently available via phone order for $106.93
