I had suspected I had a snapping turtle in my pond because one of my ducks had it's flipper chomped which ended up costing me $700 in vet bills. I anxiously waited for this trap and set it out and the first night I had a HUGE snapper. Baited it a chicken breast I let sit in the sun for hours and put it in a mesh bag and tied it to the back of the trap. My only complaint is that I wish the back side opened because it was quite difficult to open the trap door and get the turtle out without getting bit myself. Also, a hook or clamp to attach your bait to would be handy to on the back side.

Caught a huge snapping turtle in about an hour. Only negative is he was so big and you have to hold the door open to get them out. We zip tied the door open so we could safely dump the turtle into a bucket to relocate

The trap was shipped the day after I ordered it. It has already captured several huge soft-shelled turtles that were decimating the duck population. Excellent tool for the purpose.

I put this trap at the edge of my pond the first day i got it. I caught one 30 lb snapping turtle in 0ne hour. I caught the 2nd 40 lb the next day. I baited with sardines. Excellent trap.

Received the trap earlier than expected (big plus). Received it in great condition —no dings, no dents, no broken pieces( huge plus). Got in I. The water and caught a big 30 pounder in less than 6 hours!! (Best of all plus's!) The trap continues to hold up and perform fantastically after several large turtle captures! We also found the helpful hints very useful. Thank you , THANK YOU For a wonderfully made product!! Will recommend highly

Sturdy trap, but the catch to hold the door open is so small, the slightest movement springs it. Can't catch turtles if they cant get in.

It did just as they said! Caught the turtles and moved them on to areas that did not effect our pond!

I had snapping turtles killing ducks in my pond and wanted the snappers removed humanely. Having used live traps for racoons and opossums, I liked the concept of this turtle trap. Pros - - Very well made - Worked on first night - Easy to use Cons - - A little more expensive than I expected - Long lead time from order to delivery Ultimately, for me, the good outweighs the bad and I would recommend this trap to anyone wishing to humanely remove turtles from their impoundment.
