How Trapper LTD Mouse / Insect Glue Boards Work

Trapper LTD is a non-poisonous cardboard glue trap that captures mice, roaches and insects on contact. Trapper LTD is an excellent tool to monitor and trap insects for identification purposes. (Is it a flea or a bed bug?) A special release paper protects the glue until the board is used.

Trapper LTD Glue Boards have no insecticides, rodenticides, or other active ingredients other than the thick and powerful Trapper Glue. Glue will remain effective in moderate temperatures; it will harden under 32 degrees F and may melt in direct sunlight. Trapper LTD will catch insect pests and mice that cross its path. This trap is most effective lying flat and flush with the floor.

Target Pests

Mice and insects such as roaches, crickets, spiders, earwigs, millipedes, and flying pests

Target Uses of Trapper LTD

Use Trapper LTD Mouse/Insect Glue Boards as a monitoring tool for insects, such as monitoring drains for flies, garages for crickets, or for help identifying a pest. Trapper LTD is also large enough to catch mice without the use of rodenticides or snap traps. Trapper LTD Mouse/Insect Glue Boards are easy to use in areas where snap traps or rodenticides are prohibited or undesirable. They also fit inside multi-catch traps such as the Victor Tin Cat M308 Live Catch Mouse Trap. Trapper LTD Glue Traps do not have an active ingredient that will deteriorate over time.

Be aware that insects and mice trapped on a glue board may still be alive when you find them. If this is a concern, consider using snap traps or multi-catch traps. Be sure to place glue boards out of reach of children and pets. Trapper LTD Glue Boards are easier to use than snap traps, inexpensive, and disposable.

ACTIVE INGREDIENT: No insecticide/rodenticide active ingredient, only Trapper glue.

Application Instructions

Place Trapper LTD glue boards flat against walls, corners, or in other areas where pests are likely to travel. In dusty areas, the 8" x 4" board can be folded into a covered glue trap. (The Trapper LTD does not have a tab and slot closure to be folded into a box.) Simply drop it in the trash after use. Trapper LTD traps also fit perfectly in the Victor Tin Cat M308 Live Catch Mouse Trap, allowing you to dispose of the mice more easily as they are caught in the Tin Cat.

*If folding over a drain or in a box to protect from dust and debris, make creases before peeling off protective plastic sheet for easier manipulation of the cardboard.

*For mice, fold and tear off the ¼” edges so that glue may be placed flush against walls.

*Always place out of reach of children and pets, or use in a covered pest monitor.

Trapper LTD Mouse/Insect Glue Boards come in packs of 12 or cases of 72 boards. The amount needed will vary with target use and level of infestation. Boards are 8 inches by 4 inches.

Standard Application Rates

Place traps for mice every 6-10 feet. For insects, place wherever activity is suspected or seen.

For use in the following areas:

Use indoors in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings, in areas not readily accessible to children or pets.

Indoors-

Inspect for signs of pest activity, such as dead insects, food debris, or feces from mice. Place glue boards horizontally against baseboards, in corners, or in other areas pests are likely to be found. Use in corners of garages or storage areas, under appliances or furniture, or wherever mouse or insect activity is suspected. Do not use in areas easily accessible to children or pets. Do not place on moist surfaces or in areas likely to be exposed to water. Extreme heat may cause glue to melt. For cold areas such as walk-in refrigeration, use cold temperature rodent traps. Discard in trash after use or if covered in dust or other debris.

Outdoors-

Trapper LTD glue boards are not intended for outdoor use. Heat and direct sunlight can melt the glue, dust and other debris will stick to the glue, and rain will damage the paper.

Features of Trapper LTD Mouse / Insect Glue Boards

  • Mouse capture without snap traps or rodenticides
  • Easy monitoring of insect pests
  • Simply dispose in the garbage after use
  • Non-scented for use in sensitive areas (there is a slight odor of the glue itself)
  • Inexpensive method of control
  • Mice and insects die on the board, rather than an unknown location

Extra Tips

  • Store out of extreme temperatures and direct sunlight; boards are not weatherproof.
  • Use out of reach of children and pets or in pest monitors.
  • Vegetable oil will dissolve glue if needed (such as coming in contact with a pet).
  • When folding at an angle over drains or into a box, fold creases before removing plastic film.
  • Glue boards are helpful for pests difficult to kill with insecticides, such as spiders and crickets.
  • This glue board is too small for rats. Use the Trapper Rat Glue Board for rats.
  • A small piece of food or attractant such as Provoke Mouse Attractant can be placed in the center of the glue board to attract mice. Do not use peanut butter or other oily food items as the oil may coat glue and render the boards ineffective.
  • Use thumbtacks, nails, or staples to holds traps in place on small ledges, in vertical positions, or in other areas where boards may be easily moved.
  • When monitoring insects, use a permanent marker to indicate pests already counted, then continue to use board until full.

5 of 5 Stars  Very satisfied!
By Tammy on May 19, 2008

I recently ran out of your Trapper LTD glue traps and used the ones the exterminator gave me instead. The traps the exterminator gave me caught a mouse twice but it got away, I could tell because it left mouse hairs on the trap. With your traps all a mouse has to do is put it's foot on it and it is caught. I have never seen a mouse escape your traps. Just be careful because the glue is so so so sticky that it is hard to get off of your skin, clothes and shoes. It's best if you fold the traps if you are going to use them in high traffic areas because this stuff is sticky. Very satisfied!

5 of 5 Stars  Recommended product
By Shirley on December 5, 2008

We are in a new subdivision (2-1/2 yrs old) and they are still building. We placed Trapper LTD glue boards in our garage on both sides of the garage door . We caught over 30 mice and have stopped counting them. We have also caught one snake, crickets, and spiders. These boards are difficult to find in white. Home centers have them in black and are hard to see what has been caught. We recommend these to anyone with critter problems. They work great!!

5 of 5 Stars  Works better than you can imagine!
By Fran on October 23, 2007

We have used Trapper LTD insect glue boards for just over 1 year on a regular basis in our garage. These glue traps (they remind me of the old fashion fly paper) work better than you can imagine. We are in a new home, where new houses are still being built. To date we have caught 4 mice, 2 snakes and many, many crickets, spiders, roaches, just a huge mixture of bugs as they attempt to crawl into our garage. Rarely have we seen anything in the garage further than the entry way near the big doors. We use three boards at a time and have a 3 car garage.

I have used Trapper LTD glue boards for the last year and they work great, highly recommend. We live in the desert so we have many unusual critters and the glue board gets them all, including scorpions. Thank you for a non-toxic product!

5 of 5 Stars  More effective than other glue boards
By Rene on September 25, 2007

I am a return customer, having used the  Trapper LTD glue boards a number of times. I have found that they're more effective than other glue boards I have used because these have a low profile that mice actually walk over. Other glue traps have a lip around the glue portion of the board that I believe causes the mice to walk around, rather than through it. They're worth the money, and getting them through the mail is easy.

1 of 5 Stars  mice won't go near it
By Mike on July 12, 2014

I've had these in my shed for 2 weeks and caught some bugs and that's it. I even put a glob of peanut butter in the middle of the pad. I know mice are there because they are eating the bait out of the other traps that they have wised up to.

    5 of 5 Stars  Gotcha!
By Garry on July 9, 2014

My problem wasn't mice but an infestation of small bugs. Not sure how they made entry but spraying, though helpful, didn't resolve the problem. Placing glue boards strategically, especially in the kitchen, eliminated them in less than a week. The boards also eliminated the rare house fly. Very satisfied.

4 of 5 Stars  On Glue Board for Roaches
By John on June 22, 2014

I believe this product is very good trap for roaches. I can use a pair of old scissors to cut smaller sections for a desired area, giving greater utility to each glue board. The glue is quite sticky, but occasionally a stuck roach manages to get free. A nudge with a paperclip can position the critter more squarely on the glue board where escape is unlikely. A glue board with a scent that draws roaches might make the glue boards more alluring, as a roach that doesn't enter the glue board is free to roam. A little bait here helps.

These glue boards are awesome....I've used them before and they work great. They trap bugs that would normally be roaming free in my house. I put a spoonful of peanut butter in the center in case of mice.

October 6, 2010Wm asked:

QWhat can I use to get rid of geckos?
I need something that can be sprayed in the house as they seem to get inside a lot.

A

There are no toxic products labeled for geckos, lizards or any reptiles or amphibians, and given the highly beneficial nature of these creatures there is not likely to be any products for them any time soon. The reason they are on your property are because they can find food and proper habitat. Take away their food and they will forage somewhere else. Take away the conditions they need for hiding and they will seek refuge someplace else.

You really have two options here:

1.Exclusion. Total exclusion can be hard to achieve particularly around the roof-line where there are going to be gaps that would be very hard to close off, but there also could be some obvious flaws such as broken vent screens, holes around cables, pipes or wires, or gaps under doors. All of these can easily be closed with brush strips, caulking, copper mesh (Stuf-Fit), or some other suitable material. Exclusion is the best choice, because it is permanent, and eliminates or reduces the problem in the future too.

2.Outdoor habitat modification. In short, get rid of the reasons geckos are there in the first place. They are there because they are finding the food they need to survive (insects) and a place to harbor. If you can eliminate either of these essentials, you can get rid of the geckos. Spray a good residual insecticide such as Cyper WP around the outside of your home to help cut down on the number of insects the geckos are eating. If geckos cannot find enough food they will either move on or starve. Eliminate as much clutter and debris around the outside of your home as possible to eliminate the places geckos like to hide. Rake back mulch or rocks at least 6 inches from the structure.

If you need to get rid of the geckos that are already indoors the only options are catching them by hand or using glue boards placed in areas where the geckos travel.

January 7, 2011Lee asked:

QCan the Trapper LTD glue boards be used for bed bugs?

AThe Trapper LTD Glueboards can be used for bedbugs, but they may not be as effective as the glueboards that have been specifically designed to catch bedbugs. The Catchmaster Bedbug Detection System (glueboards for bedbugs) is a patented device designed to detect bed bugs. BDS is a passive monitoring device that provides what would be considered a perfect harborage area for bed bugs - a place they prefer to hide and breed. Bedbugs favor tight, dark spaces and textured surfaces. This is why they tend to hide in cracks and crevices of wooden furniture or in the creases of mattresses. Bedbugs also like the small grooves in corrugated boxes.  The Catchmaster BDS trap recreates these favorable conditions using a unique patented adhesive pattern that is coated on a coarse cardboard surface that bed bugs love. The combination offers bedbugs an ideal place to hide.  Once bed bugs enter a BDS trap, they get stuck on the glue adhesive inside.

June 8, 2013Jack from Edmond, Ok asked:

QI just received my order. You FAQs had a question about scent, and your answer was "un scented"
These most certainly do have a scent.

AThe Trapper LTD Glue Boards are un scented. They have no peanut butter scent or other food grade ingredients to attract mice or insects to them like other boards have. The smell you are finding is simply the scent of the material the manufacturer uses as the adhesive on the board. It is similar to a wicker basket, it is going to have its own natural distinct smell and isn't made to smell that way its just how it naturally is. Same with the glue adhesive used on these boards. In the future for a completely unscented board you could try our Trapper Max Free Glue Boards which have almost no scent at all in the adhesive, all you would smell is the cardboard it is attached to.

September 13, 2011Leonard from Chesapeake Va asked:

QA lizard came in the house during repair. How do I catch or kill him?

AThe only thing you can do to get rid of the lizard is put glueboard traps in areas where you suspect the lizard will visit. There are no poisons on the market for lizards since they are for the most part a beneficial creature.

QWe have been invaded by "rice weevils", mostly in the bathroom and some in cupboards and in flour, corn, rice
it is approx. 1/16x1/8 in., black/brown has 6 legs & feelers, don't think it has a snout. There are many and we have sprayed with no avail, driving me crazy.

APantry pests can usually be controlled by a thorough cleaning out of all infested product and scrubbing of the infested areas (pay special attention to cracks and crevices) and then applying a residual insecticide such as Cy-Kick Aerosol to the cracks and crevices and also an insect growth regulator such as Gentrol Point Source to the cabinets. The growth regulator will help stop the breeding process while you are trying to get rid of the pest and can make all the difference in your treatment program. Still, without finding the source and getting rid of it your treatment program will not be successful. It can take a couple of months to control a pantry pest infestation.

QWill Trapper LTD Glueboards be effective in catching carpet beetle larvae?
I have been treating for carpet beetles within the last few months. Although I haven't found any beetles or larvae in a while, my clothes keep coming up damaged (especially the threads & hems) Will placing out a few of these traps help catch any passing by larvae &/or help determine where they're coming from

ATrapper LTD glueboards will capture just about any insect that crawls onto the glue and this will help you determine what areas need further treatment.

QHow do I catch mice running down pipes in my house?
Hi, I saw a mouse the other morning as it ran down the 2 inch pipe that drains the utility sink in the garage, that is one of the 'mouse highways', I'm wondering if these glue boards will conform to the shape of the pipe and stay put?! Will I have to use double sided tape? I'm already using your bait stations to great success but this is a banner year for mice in the Colorado Springs area because we have had such a long and cold Winter like most of the world. I've been watching my two young Dachsunds (they've caught five) and also the birds of prey as their actions tell me of more mouse activity than anything else.

A

You can wrap the Trapper LTD mouse glue boards around the pipe, but you most likely will need some type of adhesive to keep the glue board in place. Another great choice for mouse control is the Mini T-Rex snap trap. These traps can be placed in/on mouse runways or tied to pipes or beams that mice  may use as highways. A removable bait cup in the center of the trigger pedal makes it easy to add baits including new Provoke Mouse Attractant. You can watch our instructional video explaining how to use the traps on surfaces such as pipes or beams.

November 26, 2011Gary from Orange, Ca asked:

QHow should rat-mouse glue boards be placed in a small warehouse setting (food bank)?
I am trying my best to tell our volunteers how and where to place glue boards to attempt at some control, along with other rodent-be-gone products (I don't want them moving what I place, but they do anyways). What I need is a diagram to copy so I can give crew so they better know placement of the glue boards. They move them to where they think they want them, paying no mind how ridiculous it may be. We are very satisfied customers of DoMyOwnPestControl, and thank you for your products, help and advice. I could sure use some type of copyable diagram... Sincerely, frustrated in California

AUnfortunately we have no such diagram and certain states have different requirements for how they want rodent control to be handled at warehouses.  We recommend that you either call your state's department of agriculture, or try calling Bell Laboratories, as they are the largest producer of rodent control products and they may have some sort of diagram or suggestions better than what we could give for your situation.  You can reach them at 800-323-6628.

August 12, 2010Paul asked:

QHow do you rid of mice in a restaurant kitchen?

AIf an infesation already exists in a commercial kitchen, the use of glue boards and or snap traps will be necessary. Place the traps near areas where dropping have been found or near areas where rodents or rodent damage has been found. The use of rodenticides (rat poison or mouse poison) is usually inappropriate in indoor areas. A rodent could succumb to the effects of the bait and die in an area that is inaccessible causing a horrible stench, flies, maggots, roaches, and beetles. After you get rid of the rodents indoors, you will need to stop new rodents from taking their place. Rats and mice are notorious for finding their way indoors. They can find even the tiniest crack in a structure and force there way in. Here are some hints and tips to help prevent an infestation:

  • Try to locate as many entry points as possible and seal them with Stuf Fit Copper Mesh or other suitable material

  • Keep dumpster areas as clean as possible and keep lids closed when not in use.

  • Keep grassy areas mowed to eliminate possible hiding spots.

  • Place rodent bait stations near dumpster areas and along outdoor structure walls to kill rodents outdoors.
