Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide was made with susceptible southern grasses in mind, but is still extremely effective in controlling broadleaf weeds and is one of the best amine Trimec complexes for controlling clover. Using less 2,4-D to accommodate sensitive warm-season grasses, and higher in MCPP to maintain the quality of Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide and is specially formulated for southern grasses. This ratio is in fact the best ratio for killing clover making this perfect for anyone, anywhere that needs to control chickweed and clover. Use this Trimec Southern on southern grasses such as Zoysia grass, Bermuda grass, St. Augustine grass, and centipede grass and on cool season grasses like fescue, and bluegrass. This should not be applied to Floratam St. Augustine grass.

I use this product to controll southern weeds that invade my nc lawn. Product does as it states without damaging my centipeede. I heard about this product from my ag dealer, and I haven't stopped using it yet. I would definitely recommend it to anyone...

Kills my worst lawn weeds (lot was former pasture land)
By D.m. on 03/30/2015
I've been using Trimec Southern for 4 years now and it knocks down my worst weeds consistently without affecting my Bermudagrass lawn in Central Alabama. My lot was formerly pasture land, so it's got some of the hardiest weeds I've ever faced and Trimec kills everything and leaves my lawn intact.

I have been please with the results that I have gotten do far. The only negative is it is a bit slow working. I am very happy that it did not kill my centipede grass. I would recommend this product to anyone with weed issues.

Great stuff
By Larry on 03/15/2016
I have used this for 3 years now & is as advertised - kills allmost all broadleaf type weeds. Next year I will also go with a pre-emergent for the grassy type weeds. Waited too long this year, and am paying the price with my weed popper, which right after a rain orks pretty well.

Killed my Centipede Grass
By Bob on 07/16/2017
1 oz per gal of water and the grass died deader than a kipper on a cracker. Used it for spot spraying weed thank heavens and not total coverage. You get measurements of .37 oz to 2 oz as recommended amounts per 1000 sq ft (which unless info if you are a farmer). i understand that 1 gal is 1000 sf. The Trimec I used before (not the one for souther lawns) worked great. Not sure what is going on with the southern lawn formula.

The Trimec Southern product label does not indicate nor give directions for tank mix combinations. Therefore, we would recommend that you contact the manufacturer, PBI Gordon at 800-821-7925 for further assistance regarding tank mixtures.

How much per gallon in a tank sprayer?
For broadleaf control, you would mx 0.75 oz Trimec Southern per 1,000 sq. ft. or approx. 1 gallon of water. You would want to mix approx. 1.5 oz with 2 gallons of water to cover a 2,000 sq ft lawn. You should not apply to newly seeded turf until after the second or third mowing.

Most EPA-registered herbicides like Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide and fertilizers can safely be mixed together so long as the labeled rates are followed. We recommend that you read and follow the label instructions to prepare a tank mix test to make sure the products are compatible
Your ad says, "Should not be used on FlorataN... " . I believe you meant, FlorataM St. Augustine grass.
We are having a late spring here in Georgia and the centipede is still mostly brown.
Trimec Southern Broadleaf Herbicide should not be applied to Centipede during spring green up per the product label instructions. Please provide the targeted weeds for an alternate recommendation. Thank you!
