For control of insect pests, apply either as foliar broadcast spray to obtain thorough and uniform spray coverage of the plants or via a basal bark or injection treatment. For foliar broadcast sprays, choose a finished spray volume appropriate for the size of the plants and amount of foliage which will provide thorough coverage throughout the canopy. For optimum control, allow at least 6 hours before overhead irrigation of foliage. Do not allow public use of treated area during application.

QWhat is the application rate for mealy bugs on orchids when using TriStar?
I have a stubborn mealy bug infestation on my small collection of orchids. How much should I use if I use a gallon sprayer? Can that amount be measured accurately with the measuring spout? Should I repeat the application, and if so, after what period of time?
AWhen treating for mealy bugs with the TriStar you will use 7.5 ml (0.25oz, 1.5 tsp) per 3 gallons of water for effective control. The Tristar bottle will measure as low as 5 ml in the built in measuring reservoir. It is suggested that you mix a surfactant with the TriStar when treating for mealybugs for better control. You can use the Non-Ionic surfactant we carry at the rate of 1-2 teaspoons per gallon of water. Do not make more than 4 applications per year. Do not reapply more than once every 7 days. To determine if application is necessary, monitor pest densities.

QAre there any heat restrictions on TriStar 8.5 SL?
A TriStar 8.5 SL like with most insecticides should be applied in the cooler times of the day. As far as shelf life, be sure to store in a cool dry area where temps do not freeze or go above 95 degrees.

QCorrection to previous question
that was 12 OZ - not 12 GAL - per thousand square ft. (conflicting data on TruGreen's work order slip)
ACan you please let us know what question you previously submitted that this is in reference to? There is not enough data in this for us to pull up the other question and accurately answer you. Thank you
