    No, you do not have to use Vector replacement bulbs. Any brand of light that fits the length and wattage specs will work.

    Does the Vector 20-7019 bulb come with a sleeve/coating that will prevent shattering?

    No, Vector Classic 20-7019 Replacement Bulbs are not shatter proof. We do however have the 15 Watt 18" Shatterproof Bulbs. Please let us know if you have any additional questions.
