For serious mouse problems you can't go wrong with the Tin Cat Repeating Mouse Trap (Model M308). The Tin Cat Mouse Trap is a live-catch trap that is easy to use, catches up to 30 mice at a time, and requires no setting. Simply place the trap along a wall where mice like to travel and it is ready to go. Inquisitive mice will enter the trap, triggering a lever that will trap them in a holding area inside. They can get in, but there is no way out until you release them. Also available in Poly and Solid Top versions. Dimensions: 10.25" x 6.25" x 1.75".
Optional add-on: Many customers want the repeating catch capability of the Tin Cat but don't want to deal with live mice. In this case, we suggest that you also buy Tin Cat Glue Boards, which fit perfectly inside the Tin Cat. The mice will stick to the glue board and eventually die. The glue boards provide for easier disposal of the mice.

Tin Cats (MODEL - M308) have a very low profile (only 1.75 inches tall) allowing them to be placed in tight areas or under pallets. A clear lid on top of the trap allows easy viewing of your catch. Tin cats are perfect for the home or for larger areas such as farms, chicken houses, warehouses, etc.
Mice like to travel along walls and not across large open areas. Place the Tin Cat repeating mouse trap along a baseboard or in a corner. When the area to be controlled is large, the infestation is severe, or to increase the effectiveness of the traps, place several Tin Cats along the walls about 10-15 feet apart.
1. Place the Tin Cat trap lengthwise against wall or object with entrance holes nearest to that surface.
2. Use peanut butter or other typical mouse bait in the inside chamber to attract mice. (One customer put a dab at the top of the ramps and had great success!)
One very important thing to remember: it may take the mouse 1-2 weeks to become familiar enough with the tin cat, before it attempts to enter. At first the mouse may just go around the Tin Cat or run on top. However, once the mouse knows the trap isn’t going anywhere, it will be confident enough to go through the trap. Mice are very cautious about new things in their environment.

Easiest and best trap so far!
By Linda on January 3, 2007This Victor Tin Cat mouse trap really works great! I've been having mouse problems on and off and tried the single live trap; which worked fine in the beginning. Had to try other methods that I will never do again. I like to relocate them not kill them. Searched on the Internet and found this trap. A couple of nights and I caught two mice. I've had it two weeks and caught and released 7 mice. For me giving them another chance is the way to go! Thank you this is a great product that has no mechanism that the mouse can trap himself into. I think this one is the easiest and best trap so far!

Caught the varmints

In 3 days it caught the little varmints, THANK YOU so much. My cats had a good meal. Now for the mice out back. Now for the rats in the out building.

Excellent garage/basement/outdoor low-maintenance trap!
By Mark on August 8, 2011We bought two of these a few years back before they had the see-thru windows, and they've been great... we put dry corn in them, which our mice apparently love. We can set them out & leave them for days at a time without checking, and when we come back, sometimes we've had as many as eight mice in a single trap! There's no point in relocating mice, they'll just find their way back and you'll have to keep relocating them over & over again, or else you'll have to keep relocating their kids & grandkids, etc. Best way to handle 'em is to drop the whole trap in a bucket of water, come back 15 min later & empty it into the trash. Mice are NOT "cute"... they carry disease and do millions of $$$ of property damage yearly, duh.

Like the "live catch" option

The mice are gone - within a week I got all four of them. I sealed up a hole they were getting in - no evidence of any more. I liked that the traps gave me a "live catch" option.

Victor Tin Cat Repeating Mouse Trap-case
By Joanne on April 18, 2013The Victor Tin Cat Repeating Mouse Traps work great for us since we have a small parrot and we don't want him getting caught in a regular mouse trap. The mice do go in them , but we have only been able to catch one at a time. Guess we have smart mice. :). We have caught 13 so far and this is more than we have caught with any other device. I don't like to kill them so I take them out in the country and let them go into the woods. We feel that these Victor Tin Cat Mouse traps fill our needs quite well!

I had a problem with mice in one of my small chicken houses. Because if the chickens, I couldn't use a regular trap or poisons so I decided to try the Tin Cat. I placed a Tin Cat equipped with a glue board next to a wall. Within 3 days, I had nine mice. I emptied them out and replaced the glue board. Two days later, I had five more mice. It works better than I expected.

I ordered this trap a month ago. Mice love it! They come in, eat, and then leave. In one month, I have caught and released one mouse (and, apparently, fed a bunch more). I believe the one I caught just had not had time to finish his meal before leaving. Perhaps my trap is defective: a very small crack at the inside top of both ramps may be the way the mice get back out (do they reach up and pull the ramp down?). But no way for me to fix this. Bottom line: as a humane trap, THIS TRAP DOES NOT WORK. Note: I DO NOT want to use glue strips - very inhumane

Mice Not flying anywhere
By Phil on January 4, 2013I work at an airport and we are responsible for taking care of the rodent problems for the airlines and other tenants. Only trick is we have to catch them live and release them out in a field. This trap has not failed once. If we get a report of a rodent problem within two days of setting the trap we have eradicated the problem. I think what makes this trap so successful is the pivot pad. Once they go off that other side of the paddle there done. And the window on top is nice to easily confirm a catch. The mice at THIS airport aren't flying anywhere!

It Works!

I baited 3 traps with peanutbutter and this a.m. caught a mouse (I think he's a loner). I recommend this trap with the window. I could tell by looking thru the window that a mouse had been in it, but I couldn't see or hear anything so I thought it had escaped. I picked up the trap and looked more closely thru the window. That's when I saw a mouse tail sticking out from under the ramp. I released it in the woods with seeds about 2 miles away. I had to turn the trap upside down and tap it on the ground before it fell out. I think it was scared witless. Without the window, I would never have known the mouse was in there since they apparently don't always scurry around and make mouse noises in the trap. I tried mint oil, dried predator urine crystals and Bounce sheets and nothing worked. This trap works fine!

I've caught as many many as 10 mouse in a trap in one night. I do recommend removing the mice after each night though.

Best trap Ever!

After giving up on the have a hart trap after 2 months, I bought three if these traps. They are great! I caught 2 adult mice and a baby mouse within a week. The traps are easy to use - no setup - and it was easy to let the mice out after I took them a couple of miles away from the house. I would recommend to anyone.

A Better Mouse Trap
By Steven on July 30, 2012Worked perfectly the first night. A little peanut butter in the middle and we had him. In the morning, I was able to remove the perfectly healthy and unharmed mouse from the house and release it with no physical contact.

I have geckos/lizards all over the house, especially outside. I know they are good bug eaters, but I would prefer bugs over them. Please let me know if they can also be placed outside with the glue traps.

AThe Victor Tin Cat Mouse Trap can be used outdoors with glue traps inside. They probably would not work very well to catch lizards, however. The lizard would need to go into the trap and weigh down the ramp and then enter the trap to be captured. A better choice would be to purchase glue boards such as the Catchmaster 72 MB that can simply be folded up to form a tunnel. If you have a situation where you need to have the glue boards enclosed, you could use the Protecta Pest Monitors. Protecta Pest Monitor is a reusable, plastic monitoring box used with Protecta MC Glue boards (sold separately). This trap has openings that allow everything from insects, lizards to mice to enter.

AThis is complicated to explain via email but we will do our best. If you open the lid to the Victor Tin cat you will see the two mechanisms that are the "traps". The doors only work one way. As the mice enter the trap the lever acts as a see-saw. The inner lever goes down allowing them to enter the trap as the back lever lifts up from their weight not allow them to back up. Once inside the trap the lever goes back to the original position keeping the mice inside. you can test the lever with your fingers as if you are a mouse coming in.
