Vole Scram Professional

Vole Scram Professional is an easy solution in a granular form to control voles, easily and quickly applied with a rotary spreader. The triple action formula makes tunnels and soil smell bad to voles, and also makes vegetation (roots, foliage, stems, seeds, tubers and bulbs) taste bad to the voles. Vole Scram changes the voles' normal environment to drive them out of infested garden beds, lawns, and turf. This product contains natural ingredients that are formulated to coat a voles’ food source with a bad taste. This product won't harm people or animals and doesn't wash away with the rain. Non toxic and environmentally safe. A 22 lb. pail well cover approximately 13,200 sq. ft.

Voles are also called meadow mice or field mice. There are 23 vole species in the United States. Voles are compact rodents 5"-8" long with stocky bodies, short legs & short tails. Their eyes are small & their ears partially hidden. They usually are brown or gray, though many color variations exist.

Application Instructions: Apply using a rotary spreader at a rate of one pound per 600 square feet. Cover the area where vole damage has been observed and/or is occurring. Extend the coverage to about 30 feet around and beyond the damaged area. For lawn and garden areas of 5,000 or less square feet, we recommend covering the entire area.

Hand sprinkle, using the scoop provided, within damaged garden plots and beds.

2 of 5 stars  2 because there's no way this container covers 13000 feet.

$80 for a container of product that claims to cover 13,200 sq. ft. My yard is 6200 sq. ft. measured by survey. I set my spreader at the finest setting and could barely see product flying out of it, and the whole can was gone before I finished my back yard (approx 4000 sq. ft). It seems to be working but I will have to buy another container to do second application. My wallet is taking a beating, and since it's on backorder, I'm sure I'll have to find it somewhere else.

Never believed we would make those pesky, persistent critters go away so fast!!! The smell is not so bad and it is harmless to pets. Love it and we will purchase again,IF needed.

Although the product is expensive it does work. I used it at home last year and it took care of the voles after the second application (as instructed to do)

3 of 5 stars  Vole Scram Professional

This Winter the voles destroyed my backyard under the areas the snow had piled up. In February, when the snow had melted I applied the first application of Vole Scram and then the 2nd application two weeks later. Since then, I have not seen any additional vole activity. This includes a 3 week period in March when we had significant snow fall and the snow took a while to melt. I'm impressed with the product so far as I know the field next to my yard is infested with voles. Please note that I have taken extra measures last Fall to seal off my yard from the field but the voles did manage to get into my yard over the Winter. I will continue to use this product but I only rated it a 3 because of the false advertising. This container claims to cover over 13,000 sq. ft. My yard is less than 2,500 sq. ft. and I barely got two applications out of it. I used the settings provided and I believe the calibration on my broadcast spreader is fairly accurate.

5 of 5 stars  effective so far
By Toby in Flower Mound, TX on 06/16/2016

We have sandy soil and struggle with the voles. I tried some oil product before, it did nothing to help that I could determine. I applied half of this bucket to my front yard and it rained in directly afterward. Its been 2 weeks now and I cannot see evidence of any new tunneling. There would normally be an entire network in my yard after rain. I will reapply in a few weeks, and if I remain vole free, will continue to purchase this product on a regular basis. Its not cheap, but its the only thing I've tried to date that has made any impact.

QHow often does Vole Scram have to be applied? Does it really work?
I have tried numerous products but none have worked. Voles are worse than ever. Would bait be better to try and kill them? If so what bait? - Love your company - I'm a repeat customer. : )

A

We appreciate your business!

Vole Scram is applied either with a broadcast spreader or by hand with the provided scoop in beds, mulch or rough grass. If it is used as directed, it will work.

For Northern Snowfall Regions: In early September/Octorer, apply a 20 foot band to the perimeter of the property where the voles nest during the summer months. This will reduce them from entering the property. With your second application, which is done in 14 days after first application, prior to snowfall. A third application should be done in early spring/late winder immediately after snow melts.

Midwest/Southern Regions: Apply 2 applications, 2 weeks apart, to areas showing vole damage. Repeat after 30 days after second application.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions.

QIs Vole Scram safe to use on or around ornamental plants?
We are a Perennial wholesale grower and are looking for an organic product to control our vole population which like to make their way into our plant containers and eat the plants especially during winter when the plants are under cover creating a big mess and hurts financially as well. We would want to apply the product over growing areas/ plant beds. Is it safe to use on or around ornamental plants?

AYes, the Vole Scram is safe for plants and ornamentals and is specifically designed for use in those areas for vole removal.

QCan Vole Scram Professional be dissolved in water & sprayed?
The terrain I have to cover does not allow use of a broadcast spreader

ANo, Vole Scram Professional cannot be dissolved in water, it is insoluble. If you can't use a broadcast spreader, you can apply it by hand with the scoop provided inside the pail.
