Wasp-X Wasp & Hornet Spray

Wasp-X Wasp and Hornet Spray kills flying stinging insects on contact with a very fast knockdown and kill.  But unlike other wasp sprays, Wasp-X continues to kill with a foaming action that provides a residual activity to help eliminate the nest.  Wasp-X spray can reach nests up to 20 feet away. The water-based formulation is easy on plants and the active ingredient is safer for the environment yet tough on pests. 16 oz. can.

Tips: This product is a foam, and should be applied in 1 second bursts.  The product will hit the nest and expand.  You should not hold the top of the can down and continually spray.

5 of 5 stars  Effectively and safe
By Ming-chen in Derwood, MD on 06/23/2011

Those wasps built 4 nests on top of my bathroom window (gap between regular window & storm window). I ordered two cans of Wasp-X Wasp & Hornet Spray online and used it around midnight. Opened a little gap on top of the window, sprayed into the gap, those wasps die instantly and drop their body down to the bottom of the window.  Its works fast and efficiently, plus no strong smell, not even a single wasp attacked me, so it’s very safe as well.  I’m very happy about this product.

5 of 5 stars  Effective, the foaming action is a major plus!
By Jq in Piscataway, NJ on 09/06/2011

Took care of basketball-size, bald-faced hornet nest that hung 8ft over a porch sidewalk. After dusk, I used a Gotcha Sprayer+telescoping pole from a window b/c they're aggressive multi-stingers. Since their nest has only one access at bottom, shooting the foam right up the hole clogs it and comes to contact on any of them coming out. Used a whole can, spraying every 5 minutes to keep it clogged. Watch them crawl out and drop to the ground. Beware of a guarding hornet(s) outside, found one on the porch storm door afterwards. Used another can the next afternoon to make sure of no hornet activity. Spent about 1/5 of a professional job.

i can't tell you how HAPPY i was to find the day after using this that the yellow jackets were gone! there was a large nest between the house and ground. though the can is large and i thought i would get more than one application, it was empty before i knew it. BUT, it WORKED! and didn't need more. i needed a quick solution, didn't want to go through the hassle of bait and wait... now a few weeks later and still no yellow jackets! bottom line, IT WORKS!!!

The spray worked, but no better than a cheaper can of Raid Wasp and Hornet spray. I was disappointed on the distance of the spray. It didn't spray any further than about 10 ft.

I purchased 3 cans of this, I have used 2 cans. They don't spray but maybe 4 feet. You have to get right on top of the wasp nest. They did kill the wasps, but returned to the nest 4 days later. Will not be purchasing this again. Better off purchasing the stuff at local hardware store.

I ordered a 12 can case after previously ordering 2 cans. The effective use of this product is dependable. I am allergic to wasp and stinging insects; therefore, this product can save my life. I have a workshop where wasp tend to build nests. I used a can and it stopped them. One small complaint. Each can may could contain more product. It is easy to use it all quickly.

By Chris in Cedarville, OH on 04/13/2017

I read the reviews of others who said this eliminated their problem and was hopeful. I had tried over 4 cans of off-the-shelf yellow jacket spray last summer to no avail. With Wasp-X I sprayed twice and they have disappeared for two weeks. It is still early in the season. I'll see what happens in June but am very happy with Wasp-X. So far, it has been worth every penny.

5 of 5 stars  Works Great
By Gordon in Yakima, WA on 11/04/2015

I used up three canisters of hornet spray trying to eliminate a nest that was buried deep in a rock wall. The typical big box store brands would only kill the wasps that were outside of the nest. I looked online for a product that has a residual effect and I found WASP- X & Hornet Spray. Most of the wasps died after the first spraying. The next day I sprayed again, no more wasps. I highly recommend this product on hornet nests that are in hard to get areas.

Did two applications after dark one day apart. Nest of yellow jackets gone and no sign of them since. Been 10 days. Whole can of raid for bees did not do anything. Great service too.

QWe have wasps and I believe they are in our chimney. What should we do?
I also saw what seem like carpenter bees? We get one or two in the house every few days, but can't find a hive in the window areas. But when we're outside they seem to be swarming all over our chimney top.

AHaving a nest in a chimney can be a tricky thing to try and handle on your own as a homeowner. While it is something you can do, it takes extra precautions to make sure that you dont end up with a dangerous situation on your hands. Many customers hire a professional for this type of removal and you may want to do the same. If doing this yourself, you will need to first get a very fine mesh screen much like a window screen, and tack it up on the opening to your fireplace where it meets your home. This is to ensure that if any of the nest goes down the chimney, they do not flood into your home and create a hazardous situation inside. Once you have ensure that the screen is tightly in place on the inner side of the homes fireplace, you can go towards treating the nest itself. We would recommend something like Wasp-X which is an aerosol much like other wasp sprays you would buy, except it foams to engulf and expand around the nest and trap the insects in it to reduce the amount that fly back towards you as you spray. You will want to be sure to have on protective clothing to prevent yourself from stings should some of the nest fly up towards you as you are treating the nest from above. You may want to look at getting our Complete Bee Suit to make sure you are protected the same way the professionals would be as you treat. Once the nest has been sprayed, quickly leave the area and give the product time to do its job and eliminate the nest. Once you can tell that the nest is dead you can go about removing it from your chimney, and then clean the chimney to get rid of any chemical residual left behind by the Wasp-X

QIs there an option on the product FastOut CS Foam to remove the tubing and spray a jet of foam?
We are looking for a product to shoot a jet of foam a safe distance to cover and kill wasp/bee nests. we used to use Wasp-A-Foam with good results, but can no longer find that product. The tube system on FastOut will put a person too close to insects.

AFast Out does not work as a jet spray. We do carry a product that does just what you describe though. It is called Wasp X. Wasp-X spray can reach nests up to 20 feet away. Upside down spraying allows for hard to reach nests. The water-based formulation is easy on plants and the active ingredient is safer for the environment yet tough on pests. This product is a foam, and should be applied in 1 second bursts.  The product will hit the nest and expand.  You should not hold the top of the can down and continually spray.

QWill Wasp-X Wasp & Hornet Spray infiltrate the nest?
We have a football size nest in a bush. Can I just spray the product on the nest or need to make holes in the nest?

A

Wasp-X Wasp & Hornet Spray is sprayed directly on the nest. It will foam around the nest so you do not need to make holes. The foaming action provides a residual activity to help eliminate the nest.  Wasp-X spray can reach nests up to 20 feet away. The water-based formulation is easy on plants and the active ingredient is safer for the environment yet tough on pests.

QWould Wasp X work if i cannot find the nest?
I cannot leave my front door , as soon as I go out they come at me, they are flying around some areas of wood on top of porch in front and then they go to a small bush and the only tree which is a japanese maple We cannot locate a nest but they sure fly around. I am very allergic What is the best product for me to use. I also watched from my car this huge black hairy looking fat flying thing only one kept hitting and flying it had a yellow on top only. This thing was huge. I got rid of all other trees, and bushes no flowering plants and still have these pests outside I am petrified to go out during the day every year same thing and we never find the nests. Help..

AWasp X is a great product but it is not what you would use to rid yourself of the population if you do not know where the nest is. You could use it as a knock down contact kill product on those that are flying directly around the door. For the population you are seeing you want to try and see if they have an area they consistently go to or crawl around any crevices of your home to try and locate the nest. If they go to a specific bush look around it and on the ground below it for any small holes where they could have a ground nest. If you can find any crevices they may be coming in and out of, you can use a dust like Tempo 1% dust in the entry point for them to carry through the nest. You can then spray a product like Cyonara 9.7 along the beams and entry points of the home and the bushes around the home where the frequent to try and kill them as they come into those areas. Nothing is going to stop more from coming from your neighbors yards though, so a general treatment with the Cyonara to keep the numbers of them down will be needed on a monthly or quarterly basis.

QWhat can I use for cricket hunter wasps in a dentist office?
I know they are ground nesters. I have treated the weep holes and the perimeter. Will they nest inside a structure and if so where would I look?

A

Cricket Hunter Wasps can be found indoors year-round and will often occupy existing holes in the ground or in cavities in the walls of buildings. Inspection and exclusion will be important for keeping this pest out. Wasp-X would be good for knockdown outdoors and for hard-to-reach areas. Insecticide dust such as Tempo 1% Dust applied†with a B&G Bulb Duster 1150 would be great for cracks and crevices and void treatments.†

Also, since these wasps target crickets, you may want to use a cricket bait around the structure, such as InTice 10 Perimeter Bait.

You can view more information about this pest in this article from your Texas Extension.
