WeatherBlok XT Rodenticide - 16 lbs.

WeathBlok XT provides an optimal level of both palatability and weatherability. These excellent outdoor bait blocks contain the advantages of Talon-G, in a formulation that withstands the elements-even in damp places where the competition falls apart. WeatherBlok XT also has a unique shape, which allows for high density baiting and features gnawing edges that entice rodents to consume a lethal dose. WeatherBlox XT Rodenticide Bait should be used in tamper-resistant bait stations. (This product does NOT fit into the Aegis Mouse Bait Station, Protecta Mouse Bait Station or the Protecta RTU Mouse Bait Station)

Made With Talon Rodenticide, Second-Generation Anticoagulant. It kills warfarin-resistant Norway Rats and House Mice Norway rats and house mice may consume a lethal dose in one night’s feeding with first dead rodents appearing four or five days after feeding begins.

Weatherblok XT is a single-feed anticoagulant labeled for rodent control, including use against warfarin-resistant mice and rats. Weatherblok XT is a paraffin block formulation with superior resistance to the elements, and its weatherability allows it to be approved for use in drains and sewers.

Weatherblok XT is approved for the control of Norway rats, roof rats and house mice in a variety of locations. Determine areas where rats and/or mice will most likely find and consume bait. Remove as many other rodent food sources as possible. For the safety of others, Weatherblok XT should always be applied out of reach by children, domestic animals and non-target wildlife, or in tamper-resistant bait stations.

5 of 5 stars  Works great at our house
By Judy in Midland, NC on 01/14/2011

This is the second bucket of this product that we have used to fill bait stations around our house. We live on three acres out in the county and mice and field rats are always an issue. They used to get in our house - no matter what we did they always seemed to find a way in. Since we started using this products several years ago, no more mice in the house!! I was worried in the beginning because we have 6 dogs that I didn't want to harm if they ate a poisoned mouse. This has not been an issue. I don't know where the critters go to die, but the dogs never seem to find them. I've seen them with squirrels and rabbits they have caught, but never a mouse or rat. This products also seems to have a long shelf life as it worked just as well at the last of the bucket as it did when we first opened the bucket years before. Wonderful product!

5 of 5 stars  WEATHERBLOK XT BAIT
By Bob in Cleveland, Ohio on 02/04/2015

I am a professional exterminator with over 40 years experience. Having tried most of the bait blocks for rats and mice, I find the weatherblok xt blocks to have the best acceptance- and it is also good that they are wax impregnated so they last longer in customers places. I usually use them in conjunction with another bait to give the rodents choices, but invariably they choose the xt blocks.

    5 of 5 stars  4th bucket

Product works great from beginning to end of bucket. I make a bait station out of a 24" piece of field tile (4-inch diameter corrugated PVC pipe), I put a piece of threaded 1/4 inch rod through one side of the field tile and then 4 pieces of the weatherbloc and then out the other side of the field tile and put a nut on each end. other animals can't get at it. Easy to move and monitor the activity. Very cost effective and works great. Rats and Mice find it quick.

Works fine but I like the Contrac pellets better because they are less expensive, easier to put out without worrying about rats carrying them to places where something else may find them, and seem to be just as effective. However, the bloks are much easier to put out inside buildings where you do not have to worry about rats carrying them somewhere else.

5 of 5 stars  Great external bait
By Tommy in Maine on 05/03/2012

This is my second bucket of this product. We use it specifically around our lake cabin. I made some homemade bait stations to arrange around the perimeter of the cabin and keep them fresh year-around. This has completely eliminated the problem I was having with rodents in the cabin over the past year.

QWhat will happen if a rodent that has consumed the WeatherBlok XT is later eaten by a dog or cat?

AMost pet dogs and cats are well fed and will not actually eat the dead rodents, but they will only chew or play with them. If the dog or cat did actually eat the rodent, there would most likely be no ill effect. Cats and dogs would need to consume many dead rodents to have any effect at all.

QWhat is the difference between weatherbloc XT and Ditrac?

Weather Blox XT contains the active ingredient Brodifacoum and can take 1-5 days to kill and it is a single feed bait (meaning that rodents only need to feed one time to have a lethal dose build up its body).

Ditrac contains the active ingredient Diphacinone and can take 5-7 days to kill and requires the rodent to feed multiple times to have a lethal dose build up in its body.

QIf swallowed by a dog, how long before noticeable symptoms?

It would all depend on the size of the dog and how much they ate.  Anytime you suspect a pet has consumed a pesticide, rodenticide, or any kind of chemical or product, you should call your vet immediately.

QCan I use WeatherBlok XT Rodenticide in my attic?
I am getting a bait box for outside, but would like to put in attic as well.

The WeatherBlok XT Rodenticide should be placed in tamper resistant bait stations within 50 ft of the building. The best way to get rid of the rats that are already in your attic is to trap them with rat snap traps, rat glue boards and/or live catch rat traps. We do not recommend using poison baits indoors because after the rats eat the bait they may go into an inaccessible area to die causing a terrible odor and possibly even a secondary insect infestation (it is a myth that there is a poison bait that will cause the rats to dry out and not smell or to leave the house in search of water). It is important that you place the traps directly in the rats travel path and bait them with an attractive bait such as nuts, dog kibble, canned tuna or peanut butter. Be patient, it could take several days or even a couple of weeks before the rats are comfortable enough with the traps to approach them and be captured. After you have eliminated your current infestation, you must take the time to exclude rodents from entering your home in the future. QHow long should we keep our dogs away from WeatherBlok XT Rodenticide?
We put out bait for rats today and my daughter is bringing her dog home for Christmas. How long should we keep the dog away from the area where the bait was put

WeatherBlok XT Rodenticide is meant to be used in a tamper resistant bait station like the Protecta Rat Bait Station. This station keeps non targeted animals and kids from gaining access to the bait. Each station has to be opened with a key that comes with each order.

QDoes WeatherBlok XT Rodenticide kill chipmunks?
I need poison for chipmunks. Do you make any? I have weatherbloks right now.

WeatherBlox XT Rodenticide is not registered†to treat for chipmunks. We would advise using a cage trap or repellents to deter them to other areas from your property. Check out our terrific article on Chipmunk Pest Control that will help you with further information.†
