    Q
What will happen if a rodent that has consumed the WeatherBlok XT is later eaten by a dog or cat?
    A
Most pet dogs and cats are well fed and will not actually eat the dead rodents, but they will only chew or play with them. If the dog or cat did actually eat the rodent, there would most likely be no ill effect. Cats and dogs would need to consume many dead rodents to have any effect at all.

    Q
What is the difference between weatherbloc XT and Ditrac?
    A

Weather Blox XT contains the active ingredient Brodifacoum and can take 1-5 days to kill and it is a single feed bait (meaning that rodents only need to feed one time to have a lethal dose build up its body).

Ditrac contains the active ingredient Diphacinone and can take 5-7 days to kill and requires the rodent to feed multiple times to have a lethal dose build up in its body.

    Q
If swallowed by a dog, how long before noticeable symptoms?
    A

It would all depend on the size of the dog and how much they ate.  Anytime you suspect a pet has consumed a pesticide, rodenticide, or any kind of chemical or product, you should call your vet immediately.

    Q
How long should we keep our dogs away from WeatherBlok XT Rodenticide?
We put out bait for rats today and my daughter is bringing her dog home for Christmas. How long should we keep the dog away from the area where the bait was put
    A

WeatherBlok XT Rodenticide is meant to be used in a tamper resistant bait station like the Protecta Rat Bait Station. This station keeps non targeted animals and kids from gaining access to the bait. Each station has to be opened with a key that comes with each order.

  • Asked by Donna from Grapevine, Tx

    Q
Can I use WeatherBlok XT Rodenticide in my attic?
I am getting a bait box for outside, but would like to put in attic as well.
    A

The WeatherBlok XT Rodenticide should be placed in tamper resistant bait stations within 50 ft of the building. The best way to get rid of the rats that are already in your attic is to trap them with rat snap traps, rat glue boards and/or live catch rat traps. We do not recommend using poison baits indoors because after the rats eat the bait they may go into an inaccessible area to die causing a terrible odor and possibly even a secondary insect infestation (it is a myth that there is a poison bait that will cause the rats to dry out and not smell or to leave the house in search of water). It is important that you place the traps directly in the rats travel path and bait them with an attractive bait such as nuts, dog kibble, canned tuna or peanut butter. Be patient, it could take several days or even a couple of weeks before the rats are comfortable enough with the traps to approach them and be captured. After you have eliminated your current infestation, you must take the time to exclude rodents from entering your home in the future. Q
Does WeatherBlok XT Rodenticide kill chipmunks?
I need poison for chipmunks. Do you make any? I have weatherbloks right now.
    A

WeatherBlox XT Rodenticide is not registered to treat for chipmunks. We would advise using a cage trap or repellents to deter them to other areas from your property. Check out our terrific article on Chipmunk Pest Control that will help you with further information.

  • Asked by Abe from Denver, Colorado

    Q
Is Talon Weatherblok XT Rodenticide approved for USDA Organic Facilities
We are a manufacturer of USDA Certified Organic products. Would this be an acceptable option or do you have an alternative suggestion if not?
    A

According to the product label, Talon Weatherblok XT Rodenticide can be applied in food processing facilities. When used in USDA-inspected facilities, this product must be applied in tamper-resistant bait stations. Do not broadcast bait.  Terad3 Ag is an OMRI Listed and would be an alternative, still used in stations.
