There is not a need to apply anything over the entire surface of carpet or hard surfaced floors for bedbugs. They travel from the wall voids and cracks and crevices (baseboards, etc). Steri-Fab is safe for carpets but you will want to treat the room with the products from one of our Bedbug Control Kits. Please take a few moments to review our article on How to Get Rid of Bedbugs.
