Dennis from Stevensville writes

What can I use in my Grapes to kill broadleaf weeds and not the grapes?

I want the grass to grow.

Answer:

Unfortunately, we do not have a post emergent product that would not also kill the grapes if contact was made.  The general recommendation is spot treating the weeds with a glyphosate based product but it would also kill any grass.  You could possibly use something like the Fertilome Brush Killer and Stump Killer with careful direct spraying. It will control brush species of plants and some broadleaf weeds. Do not apply this product directly to, or allow to drift to, Grapes, Vegetable Crops, Flowers, Ornamentals, or other desirable foliage.   Otherwise we would recommend you to speak to your local extension office or agricultural department who might be more familiar with products that other growers have used with success in the area.
